Me... Disney lover...planner, money handler, etc
DH...Made into a Disney lover by his wife
DS (4)...his 3rd time to WDW, loves Disney, loves to be kissed by the Princesses, wants to be a monorail driver
Day 1 Saturday, May 29th
We had stayed at a hotel near the airport so we did not have to get up so early. We have a 7:30am flight, but we live 1.5 hours from the airport.
We got to the airport around 6:00am & had no trouble checking in. Plane was on time...YEAH!!! We were hoping to be in WDW by 12:30!
We boarded the plane, everyone buckles up, we start backing up & then we STOP!
The captain gets on the intercom & says that we have to pull back in the gate because of an air conditioning problem!
So we all sit on the plane, finally 50 minutes later we are in the sky!
We land in SUNNY/HOT Florida. We had ressies at National. We used the quick rent, which I was thanking myself at this point since the line at National Counter was long!
We pick our car & head onto WDW!
We find Pop Century with no problems. The check in lines was long but it really moved pretty quickly.
We got in the 80s building. When my son saw the building he thought the big Rubick's Cube was an Ice Cube, so for the rest of the trip he called it the "ice cube" building.
We head on over to Downtown Disney for some shopping
We had a 5:30 PS over at Chef Mickey's so we were watching the clock also, which probably saved on the pocket book
We head on over to Chef Mickey's & had a very nice dinner. We had a great server that really started our Disney vacation off to a great start!
We had Donald, Goofy, Mickey, Chip & Dale visit our table. We saw Minnie Mouse at the enterance. We were eating & then I happened to see The Genie come in & Minnie leave. Well, we all left our table & ran over to get a picture with the Genie!
We decided to go and see the SpectroMagic Parade since there wasn't a rain cloud in the sky.
As we were waiting there a CM asked DH to help him out. Well, this CM got other people to "help" him out & there DH was, playing "duck, duck, goose" on Main Street
DS & I were laughing! What a memory.
We all love this parade & were not disappointed. The Queen of Hearts even came up to DH & held out her hand. DH, being the gentleman he is, kissed her hand!
After the parade we decided to head back to POP. It was becoming a very long day & we were all feeling tired.
