Hi all,

My husband and I are planning to take our then 3.5 year old on a Very Merrytime Cruise November or December of 2018. My best friend recently said she would be quite keen on joining us, but as a single person the single supplement pricing puts it out of her reach.

My question is, has anyone travelled with 3 adults and a child in a stateroom? How was it? I know it will be close proximity, but hoping that will be okay for us because we were roommates sharing a bedroom for 5 years and she is a very easy travel companion.

I guess my questions are, which stateroom type would you recommend? (We were probably going to go Oceanview because the idea of a verandah with my daughter who loves to climb and has no fear scares the daylights out of me) And for anyone who has done something similar, was it awful?

It can be fairly cramped with 3 adult/1 child in a room. However, I'd suggest, if you're going to do it, go for the Deluxe Family Oceanview with Verandah. It's the largest regular room onboard.

Or, if you want, maybe two connecting inside rooms (2 adults in one room, 1 adult/1 child in the other). You can set up the sleeping arrangements once onboard, meaning you don't have to sleep in the room you are reserved into. Although, you wouldn't even have to have them connecting.

As the Dream cruises are pretty short, I'm sure you all could probably do fine in one room, of any type, however.

Which ship and what itinerary?

Got Nov/Dec 2018. Will assume new builds I hope? Cream or Fantasy?

Since you are eliminating balconies. ......

One possible path/solution is to book two connecting OV large porthole cabins.
Available on many decks.

And you have 4 pax. 3A 1C, therefore there are many cabins that hold 4 pax outside of balconies.
But since you have 3 adults I would recommend cabins for 5 pax. For the space. If you are focusing on one cabin.

You could also all jam into a cabin for 4 with 203 sqft. Or you could choose a cabin with 241 sqft.

You could book one "family ocean view" cat 8b, 8c, 8d cabins with 241 sqft. These sleep five mostly with a huge port hole.

If you do book one room, make sure it sleeps five, so you have all the beds. It allows flexibility IMO.

Or you could get two of these OV cabins that connect internally.
The smaller OV connect too, but they are 204 sqft. Although nothing wrong with that.

You need to decide if you all can survive in the same cabin. 203sqft or 241sqft. Oceanview, ... OV.

Often it's not much more $$ to get two connecting cabins as mentioned.

You need to price out connecting oceanviews that are available on almost all decks fore and aft.

Are you truly willing to spend a week in a 203/241 sqft space with all these folks?

If so, you have my respect.

Have you seen this site? Incredibly helpful IMO. Click around.
