Hi Everyone!

Sorry for being MIA for a bit... My husband just returned from overseas, so I have a bit distracted.. lol. I returned from a mini vac, as well, and had no internet.

I have added everyone that just came on board to the list. Thank you to everyone that got their posting up to 10, as I will be sending the list out via private group message.

Make sure to check your info carefully.... "smtmmj" is on the list for a new stateroom number... As soon as Disney issues the number, we will need to change it on the list.

The yellow highlighted User Ids on the list will be removed after the 20th, as we have not heard from these FE Participants since they originally asked to join, and they do not have 10 posts (haven't sent them a list).

So... I went back and read everyone's posts and would like to ramble some replies... ;)

See following posts.

Booze... Disney has a "policy" to make parents happy... Though the official policy explains the limit on booze that can be brought on, I have not had a problem on my past two cruises exceeding the limit, both through the terminal and in a port. You must abide by the the customs rules when departing, if flying. The cabin attendants always made sure we had plenty of ice and they gave me a wine bottle opener. The cruise ship has a free soda dispenser area on the pool deck, so mixers are available. There's even a self-serve-all-you-can-eat soft-serve ice cream station on the pool deck and on the private island.

If you are wine drinkers, be sure to buy one of the wine packages offered at dinner. We bough a 5 bottle package on both cruises... think it ran about $130ish for 5 reds. Your designated wait staff will rotate with you every night, and they will recommend one of your wines with the dinner choices. Any part not finished will be placed in the wine vault, and you can finish it at the next dinner. They will even have your wine available at either Palo or Remeys, if you have reservations at either restaurant (extra cover charge - - but worth it).

Rotations... There are 3 main dinning halls and four nights. If you call Disney, you can request a certain rotation. Each rotation (there's 3), has one restaurant attended twice. You can also request to be linked to other staterooms. We have 10 family members on this cruise, and 4 staterooms. We will all be eating at the same table, and our rotation is R-A-A-E, which stands for: 1st night: Royal Court, 2nd night: Animator's Palate, 3rd night: Animator's Palate, 4th night: Enchanted Gardens. I choose this one, because I love the Animator's Palate.

Entertainment... The ship puts on amazing shows. If you are on the Main Seating for dinner, then your show begins right after dinner. The show is before dinner, if you are on the second seating. Don't be surprised if your kids do not want to come to dinner, and prefer to go to the kid's club. They can eat there, or they can be given food from the many eateries. But do have them go to Animator's Palate.

Connectivity... The ship has Wave Phones in each stateroom - portable phones that work on the ship. The phones even allow for texting. You can check on the kids, get notified if they want to be picked up from the club, call different rooms, etc. You cannot take the phones off the ship.

Halloween & Pirate Night... Every Bahama and Caribbean cruise has a Pirate Night that follows the last dinning, and is typically on the night we are in Castaway Cay... It will be on the third night for this cruise. Dressing like a Pirate is encouraged! The Pirate party in on Deck, and there will be fireworks. Our cruise is designated as a Halloween cruise, as well. They have not announced which night, but you and the kids can dress up for Halloween.

Ok... now for the FE questions for more info... The number of gifts and type of gifts are at the digression of the givers... I have made a gift for the family, and then gave out individual gifts to just the kids on the last two cruises. I will be giving out individual gifts to the adults and kids on this cruise. I am making my gifts, as I love Arts & Crafts.

I went on the Halloween cruise last year, and on the Halloween Night, I passed out Halloween themed gifts... Peez dispensers, Jack-o-lantern arts and crafts, etc. I have given out pirate themed gifts on Pirate Night before. So, its what every you want to do. My daughter loves passing out the gifts, so we typically do it twice. It's a big ship, so we play the Detective game while delivering gifts, also we delivery on the way to dinner, etc. Take the map for the detective game and circle the cabins that are on your FE list.

I place a To/From tag on my gifts, that has the stateroom numbers on it. This way, I know where to go. Keep in mind that the gifts need to fit in the pockets of the wall organizer (see my previous post). I have passed out mini nail clippers/scissors and then zip-tied my gift to the FE holder to keep my gift from being stolen... that happens in high traffic areas.

For gift ideas, do a google search on Disney Cruise Fish Extenders FE gifts...

Hope this helps...

Is there an end date for final list? Will this list be broken into 2 (10 persons lists) or is going to be 1 list of 20? I would like to start getting things ready.

Hi!
We are travelling from Sydney, aus. Our first Disney cruise! I'm not sure what the Fish Exchange means but we could maybe be part of it? I'd love more information:(
I haven't received a pm but I'm sure I've done more than 10 posts:) I'll keep posting

Excuse all my annoying questions - I am a tad excited:)
So here is another question... what's the deal with mini booze bottles for parents? Since Disney limits how much booze we can bring on the ship, does that mean we can't do minis? Or do they count against my precious bottle count?
Interesting!

Hi Trebs,

Welcome... We are traveling from the New Orleans area, as well as Dallas/Austin Texas and S. Carolina. Wish we were from Australia! My husband has visited your beautiful country a few times, though.

If you would like to participate in the FE Gift Exchange, please provide either in a private PM, or as a post here, the following information:

State room #
First names of occupants
Title... Dad, mom, son, daughter, etc.
Ages of kids, ages of adults is optional
Allergies, Y or N, if yes: what kind/who
Special event or celebration
Favorite Disney character

If you need additional information, I have previous posts regarding the FE Gift Exchange...

Keep points...
You will need to provide the above information to be placed on the list and to get a copy of the list.

You will need a decorated wall organizer with pockets (that meets the allowed dimensions), so that we have a place to put our gifts to you.

Once on the ship, distribute gifts to those on the list at any time during the cruise.

Hope you have fun!!

A fun thing to do on the ship.... Disney Pin Collecting and Trading

If you haven't noticed, Disney Castmembers trade Disney Pins. Participants buy a lanyard -there's many to choose from - and some starter pins - package of 4-6, or so, pins. Then, they place the pins on the lanyard, wearing it on the ship or at the parks. When they see a Castmembers with a lanyard of pins, they can ask to trade, pin for pin.

The ship will have special trading locations and times posted in the daily activities flyer.

A word of caution..... You can buy packages of pins online, but they may not be official Disney pins, even if they say they are, so try to by directly from the Disney store. Otherwise, people that paid for real pins, may get a fake in return.... most of the traders are kids.

We have some pins that we do not trade that we picked up on each ship, at Castaway Cay, and the parks, to commemorate our Disney trips.

So, check it out.... And I hope you have fun!!!!

I have suggested that we cut off the FE list on July 20. Two participants will be removed for being non-responsive and two staterooms have requested to be removed due to a cancelation of this sailing. Another participant is expected to join, not sure if just one stateroom, yet.

So, for now that's 17 staterooms. I suggest that we keep it as one list, since it's under 20 staterooms. A final list will go out after the 20th. If we have any requests to join after the 20th, a second list can be made with volunteers from the first list adding the new-comers to their list.

Hey! My family wants to participate! Please add us to the list, if we are not too late!

Hi.... You can still make the list. However, you have to make 10 posts on the Disboards, here or anywhere else, before you are allowed to send and receive PMs (private messages). The list is sent out as an attachment to a PM. If you can't send or receive PMs, you will not have a copy of the list.

Hi everyone. I received notification that another two staterooms have canceled the cruise and won't be participating in the FE. A total of six staterooms on page 1 of the last revised list will be removed.

I have two more participants, J Sanders and Trebs that are requesting to join, but both need to make 10 posts in order to receive the list.

I also need Trebs information.

I'll wait a day or two to see if I receive the missing info. I'll send out a revised list on Saturday.

Thanks for the info, HookedOnK! I wasn't aware of the policies, so I appreciate the kind guidance! I'll continue to post!
