Disney Dream ~ September 15, 2011

Hi everyone!!! I will be on this sailing, soooo excited!!! I was able to sail on the Dream in January and it was simply amazing and I couldn't wait to book another sailing!!

My sister(26), my best friend(26 time of cruise) and myself(23 at time of cruise) will be on it and we all are so excited!! My best friends birthday is September 2nd and mine is September 13th so it is going to be one big celebration for us!! Cannot wait to see you all on board!

Only 193 days left...WAHOO:cool1:

:welcome: Your b-day is the day after mine!! :thumbsup2 Make sure they notate your account when you check in that you are celebrating birthdays. :thumbsup2

David, ONLY 73 Degrees? I'd trade places with you if I could. We got a ton of snow yesterday. It's looking like Christmas here again, AND IT'S MARCH!!!
DH took DS7 for a haircut. Man I've got to stop sleeping in on the weekends!!! I've NEVER allowed DH to take this child for a haircut, not after the stunts he's pulled with my other two boys and haircuts. Well this time, or SO HE SAYS, he told the lady "I want a Hockey Cut on him". The lady then asked if that meant still a little on the long side, but shaggy messy. DH said YES. Then DH claims that DS7 piped up quite loudly "NO, I dont' want it long, I want it Short, like my Dad". I'm not sure who to believe. DS7's hair has always been on the longer side. I think it looks fabulous on him. Currently his hair is now the typical BOYS SHORT cut. WOW, it sure makes his head look bigger, his cheeks look bigger and makes HIM look older than 7!
He likes it, so I'll like it. (and between now and Sept, there won't be anymore haircuts for him :thumbsup2 )

My DS11 likes his hair long. It's soooo thick and I can't stand how long and thick and crazy it looks. And usually I make the mistake of letting DH take him to get haircuts. I specifically tell him to tell them to layer it so it thins out a little bit and to cut some of the length. I swear they just trim it each time! :rotfl2: He had a buzz cut until about three or four years ago. I DO think he looks better with the longer hair, but not too long. So, I certainly know how you feel. But look at the bright side...it's just hair, and it will grow back. :goodvibes

Happy Hump-Day, fellow Dreamers!
:cool1:

Is anyone else excited to see what DCL's big announcement will be tomorrow??? I was just reading a bunch of speculations...seems some have seen the Magic registered for port arrivals in Grand Cayman in the future...Galveston has been thrown around as a sailing port. Oh how I WISH! That's just over an hour from our house! :woohoo:

Hope everyone's week is going well. I'm especially excited for tomorrow (aside from the big announcement)...we get to go HOME after being away for the last 2 weeks. I get to sleep in my own bed!!!!

...oh wait a minute....that also means I have to clean my own house again....:headache:

Can't wait to hear the announcement tomorrow!! Funny thing...after I read your post I kept picturing Dorothy clicking her heals and saying "There's no place like home....there's no place like home...there's no place like home" :rotfl: I'm glad you get to sleep in your own bed tomorrow night. There really is no place better than your own bed and sleeping under your own sheets/blankets.

Well let's cross our fingers for one of us to get a nice surprise! :thumbsup2

Sounds good! There's been speculation of them splitting the year between the two and then we'd both be excited. I'm always so anxious when they announce new itineraries...it's silly.

We received the kids passports today, so excited!
Just wish it was September already.

Have a great week everyone!

I have the exact opposite ongoing power-struggle with my 15 year old & his hair. If he had his wish he'd buzz it down to the skin all over. It breaks my heart...all that beautiful red hair. :sad2: I let him go pretty close on the sides & back but the top has to have enough to lay down. His hair is so thick. When he buzzes it down and it starts to grow back it looks all prickly in the back. Ugh!

It's so true! There's no place like home! And I'll be there tomorrow!!!!

Before I read some Dream preview reports I never cared much about cruising. It's been a crash course for me including my first big pins-n-needles excitement awaiting a big announcement and new itineraries. It's kinda fun, actually! :woohoo:

Yay for passports! Come on September!!! Well, okay, only *after* I lose this 17 lbs. ;)

Hi everyone,
I am Becky and my DH is Dan. I am Aimee's mother (Stl_figment) - she started the thread but has posted very little due to her wedding and disneymoon planning. She is getting married on the cruise. Yeah!!! This will be her "Disney Dream" Wedding. :lovestruc

We are from St. Louis, MO.

I have not sailed a Disney cruise since it wasn't really the dcl. We sailed the "big red boat". Remember that? I think Aimee was 5 at the time. I also think about that time is when she figured out you can get married at Disney and has dreamed about it ever since.

We are up to I think about 17 people coming for the cruise/wedding.

Most exciting for me (besides the obvious dd's wedding) is that we have a special guest coming that is an Italian citizen who is currently living in Australia to join us for the cruise. Her name is Laura and she was an exchange student that lived with us 10 years ago when both girls were seniors in high school. Laura is coming on the cruise to be the maid of honor. :thumbsup2

Anyway - just wanted to pop on here finally and say hello to everyone.

Hi Becky! :welcome: to the thread that your DD started!!!! It's kind of funny, this is the second 3 night cruise I've been on that the corresponding thread was started by a bride to be. The other bride sort of disappeared from the thread, too. Totally understandable....I bet there is a lot to plan for a DISNEY CRUISE WEDDING!!!!! How exciting for you and her!!!! I hope her wedding plans are coming along smoothly and there haven't been any big "hiccups". That's so awesome that your exchange student from 10 years ago is going to be the Maid of Honor! How exciting!

I hope everyone has a great day! It's THURSDAY!! One day closer to the weekend!!!

Hi mama (and everyone else)

We are up to 19 people total (if you count me and Brent).

And I've been lurking on the thread, just haven't posted a lot. Been too busy driving Brent crazy with wedding, Disneymoon and reception planning. Been posting more on the Weddings Threads.

Well hello to the bride to be!!!!! I hope all of the wedding, Disneymoon and reception plans are coming along like you want them to. I remember how insane it was to plan my wedding here at home with a church and reception hall. I can't imagine having to plan a Disney wedding! It's gotta be super exciting and probably a little difficult at the same time.

Hi,

Thanks - The Disney wedding part itself is simple. They give me a packet, I pick out what I want for flowers and cake. :) If you go to the Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings website, you can see the general choices for cruise brides.

For the Disneymoon I've been working on getting Brent to decide on dinner restaurants so we can book dining reservations when they open next week. The problem is this is the first trip to Disney for my future DH so he doesn't want to know all the details, but needs to know enough about the parks/dining choices to help pick restaurants. He didn't know there was more than one Disney park when we started the planning process.

And I've been avoiding reception planning. :rotfl:

WOW! Your future DH sounds like my DMiL. We took her to WDW a little over 10 years ago. When we were at any other (Disney) park than MK she would ask when we were going back to WDW. :lmao: It took us the whole 10 days to get her to realize that ALL of the parks (except Universal Studios) WERE WDW. The last time she was there, MK WAS the only park there, so she was pretty confused.

Ummm...about that reception planning...you do realize it's only SIX MONTHS AWAY, don't you? Time's a tickin!!! :rotfl2: I bet it won't be as bad as you think once you start planning it. You're having a DISNEY wedding, everything HAS to fall in place for you!!!! :thumbsup2

I lied, we have done some planning. Have a venue and a DJ booked.

Thanks for posting the review. I'm excited. Like my mom said, I haven't been on a Disney cruise since it was part of "the Big Red Boat"

I too want to :welcome::welcome::welcome: you pigfishinn and your family to the cruise thread. Sounds like you are going to have a fantastic wedding during the cruise.:cool1: Are they getting married on board the ship or on Castaway Cay? Either way it will be a GREAT wedding.:woohoo::thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Well....just order some pizza and breadsticks and get a few cases of Pepsi or Coke and a few cases of "adult preferred beverages" and you're all set! :rotfl: You've got the two most difficult parts out of the way in my opinion! Have you picked out your songs for the DJ to play? My sister's DJ had the biggest list of songs I think I've ever seen one DJ have. I don't know how she ever got through that list!!! :scared1:

Hello everyone...sorry I haven't posted.

A big :welcome::welcome::welcome: to all the new people joining us on this cruise. Looking forward to chatting and then meeting you.

I am still moping around...I can't believe how fast our vacation went by. Had the best cruise. The Magic still has the magic.

We stayed at Kadani at Animal Kingdom Lodge...with a savannah view before the cruise and Jambo with a savannah view after the cruise. Really enjoyed our stay there.

We did the Eastern Caribbean...St. Maartens and St. Thomas. After leaving St. Thomas. No Castaway Cay. We had 2 medical emergencies...the first one, we were still near port, the person was taken off the ship and taken by ambulance to the hospital. The 2nd emergency, the ship had to dock at Grand Turk...we were there for awhile. The medical team on the Magic had to accompany the patient to the airport and help get the patient air lifted off the island. Once the medical team got back onboard, we were on our way. Because of the last medical emergency and the winds (which was pretty bad)...we did not stop at Castaway Cay. Had a great time.

Spent a couple of days at WDW after the cruise. The Flower & Garden Festival just started...really pretty. Did the Keys to the Kingdom Tour at the Magic Kingdom...that was fantastic. The temperatures were in the mid 70's to mid 80's.

I will post some photos soon.

Hope you're all doing well. Have a good night and take care....:flower3:

I'll answer for my mama. My wedding is on Castaway Cay (provided we don't miss the port).

Either way I still get my disney wedding.
