Disney Dream ~ September 15, 2011

Yes, time seems to be moving at a snails pace these days. :confused3

Is it just me:confused3................or do the rest of ya'll feel the same way. Up until now the time until we sail was moving right along. Now all of a sudden it seems like time has come to a stand still. Now I know I shouldn't wish my life away....................but September can't get here soon enough!!!!

Yes, time seems to be moving at a snails pace these days. :confused3

Personally, I'm a bit worried by the time slow-down. Is this the calm before the storm??? I sure hope not!

Positive thoughts! Good vibes! Positive thoughts! Good vibes! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Our last cruise was over Halloween. This time last year I felt like I had all the time in the world to get ready, no rush. Then before I knew it I was in a panic trying to get everything together. Once summer vacation hits I think time will really start to speed up for me. So I have to agree that this is the calm before the storm, only I think it will be much easier for me to get ready this time since the little ones and DH are staying at home and I only need to pack one suitcase (and anything Judy has me bring her ;) )

I agree. Time has seemed to slow down a bit. But beware once summer gets here it will go by fast and September will be here before you know it! I have even calmed down a bit with my planning except for making my ADRs this morning.

I hope you are all having a great weekend!

I was going to get a head start on my FE gifts, but have now decided to wait till DS is told about his MOMMY & ME trip, mid/late July, and then he can HELP me make the FE gifts. Do you think I'll feel too rushed by that point? March seems to be going SO fast for me, and now that we have major work going on in the way of DO IT YOURSELF home reno's, time for the next while is going to SPEED by me. I don't want life to speed right by me (I might miss something), but I DO want Sept to arrive ASAP!! :)

It will be easier for you to make them after you DS, he might be on to you about these surprise trips and might notice you crafting away in the corner. :goodvibes

If you know what you are going to do and have supplies already purchased, you'll probably be fine. If it's something you've never done before, you may want to try it once or twice to make sure it's not something that will drive you crazy having to do a bunch of.

I'm also assuming this will be a MUCH smaller FE group than the last one you participated in. You can also start while he is away at camp.

I hope everyone had a wonderful week-end. Our week-end was not a good one for us.

Sixteen years ago a special tabby kitty showed up on our door step. She was alone and hungry, and we didn't know at the time but she was carrying a special cargo on board. She came walking in as I opened our front door to go out and get the morning paper. She made herself right at home and let us know she was home. We tried and tried to find her previous owners but no luck. So even though we had already been adopted by her, we welcomed her to our home. We named her Sabrina. A few months later she gave birth to 4 baby kitties in our spare bedroom closet. After a couple hours she came out meowing and excited, wanting us to follow her to the closet to show us her new family. We were in the middle of boxing everything up to move to our new home. And of course Sabrina and her family were the first ones we moved into our new home. Through the years she kept showing us how much she loved us in many different ways, and we showed her we loved her just as much. Sadly, Sabrina passed away Saturday morning. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. We love you Sabrina.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. It's hard when you lose a pet.

RIP Sabrina!

Our sweet dog, Pooh Bear will soon be joining Sabrina. She is 16 1/2 years old. And she is a medium - large dog so she has lived longer than we thought. She has been a wonderful family dog and it's painful knowing her days are numbered.

Sabrina was lucky to find you and adopt you as her family. I'm glad you have lots of good memories of her.

Don't forget I'm participating in both FE groups for each of the B2B cruises! So right now, there are 25 families combined, and more are likely to join over the next few months........ So I could end up with the same or more????? It'll be fun nonetheless.:)

Awww....I'm so sorry, David. My love goes out to you.

I've only ever had 1 pet and that's my little 3 year old toy schnauzer, Riley Belle. I'm her person. I don't know what I'll do when my baby girl goes to up to heaven. I might just go with her. I can't imagine how tough it is to lose a part of your family like that. Bless your heart. Like I said, my love is going out to you...

I think there are almost 40 staterooms for the DVC member cruise after this cruise. I have MUCH crafting to do. :scared1:

So sorry about your loss DAVIDLS! We have a Yorkie that drives us crazy at times, but I could not imagine coming everyday and not hearing that BARK! I wish you peace and comforting.

What exactly is a FE? I know that it stands for Fish Extenders. If it has to do with Arts and Crafts, then I am all over it.:yay:

Hi Everyone,
sorry I havent posted much again :confused3 but I am way too busy working 1 full time and 2 part time jobs. And getting ready for a wedding....

Anyway I found my dress today!!! YEAH!!!! :thumbsup2

Ok how do I get in on this FE thing and it is ok if I don't have kids to be in on it? Someone please remind me what type stuff to do. I love exchanges and even though I am busy I will make time for the FE.

Sorry for loss of your pet and the apparent soon to be loss. Pets are people (regardless of what my friends think) :upsidedow

I have apparently caught a little cold and am having trouble breathing right now. Hopefully it won't keep me from sleeping. Talk to you all soon.

Becky (aka mother of a bride on this cruise) :goodvibes

Here's a great paragraph of info posted on my other cruise meets board by a fellow cruiser. She wrote this up to answer exactly the question you have asked, and think she did a pretty great job of explaining:

I think I saw a few people asking about what is a FE... so here is a post I created when I was the person in charge of the FE's for another Disney Cruise

What is a FE? It is a “Fish Extender” meaning a pocket of some type that hangs from your Disney Cruise Line “fish” outside your door, where Cast Members leave your confirmations and such.

This is a fun game started by a group of travelers to make the Cruising experience just a little bit more FUN. It is sort of like a Secret Santa… you will get a final listing prior to cruising (about 15 days prior) of who all is participating, so you can leave little “gifts” or “goodies” in others FE’s. You can do as many or as few as you like, there is NO rules or guidelines, it is meant to be fun for all and not to cause worry or stress – we are all on vacation – good times only!!

Ideas of other peoples gifts for suggestions and ideas: something to represent your state/country, favorite snack food, cruise themed items (beach balls, sunglasses..), pencils. It is just meant to be a fun little surprise when you get back to your rooms, not a huge investment of money! REMEMBER FUN!

Where do I get a FE? Many people have purchased theirs from Ebay or you can make your own. This is completely up to you.

How do I participate in a FE? You just notify the person in charge of the FE's for your trip and they will happily add you to the list. Then typically about 2-4 weeks prior to the cruise, you will be emailed or a updated list posted for your records.

I myself will add this link for ideas on homemade crafty kind of FE gifts to give:http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1980639

I'm so sorry to hear hear that David. My prayers are with you. It even made me tear up. We had a calico cat named Sandy that adopted us had had kittens a few weeks later. We had her for about 13 years and she passed away right before Thanksgiving a few years ago. R.I.P Sabrina.

Thank you Shannon1984 for your kind words and thoughts. She was a very special kitty to us. Not just a pet but a member of our family. Just like I'm sure Sandy was to you.

Sorry I haven't written much here lately. Sooooooooooo much going on. And work................well, I am suppose to be semi-retired, but you would never know it!!! The company I work for had to hire a new person, and he ain't catchn' on to fast. I think he will pick it up............just a little slow on the ol' pickm' me up!!! Not a detailed kinda guy. And in my line of work you need to be detail oriented. Time will tell I guess.

We told our granddaughter we are taking her on a Disney cruise next June - in 2012 on the Fantasy. She is very excited. This will be a birthday present for her. Her birthday is in June. We will be sailing just a couple days after her birthday. Got to get her a cake on board and have everyone sing Happy Birthday to her!!!! DW has got a nice singing voice.............me............I sound like finger nails on a chalk board!!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1: But if several of the staff sing to her hopefully it will drown me out!!!:thumbsup2:cool1::rotfl2::rotfl:
