Disney Dream ~ September 15, 2011

I don't know if any of you have seen this video of the Dream coming in to Port Canaveral this morning. It is very nice..............Mickey, Minnie, Donald & Pluto waving at the Dream as she sails into Port for the first time. I missed seeing her sail in live, I weas on my way into work this morning and got caught in traffic!!!:scared1::eek::sad2::sad2: Check out the video!!!

Hi Debbie, I didnt' know I was still on this FE list, but am happy to remain on it. However it will just be myself and DS Tim who will be 8 at the time of the cruise. DH and other DS won't be sailing with us this time, as this has been turned into a "Mommy and Me Trip" for me and my youngest. The rest of the family will join us in 2012 on the Fantasy.

My passport expires next week, so tonight or tomorrow, I'll go get new passport photos, then get our pastor to sign as guarantor and I'm taking Friday off work so I can visit the passport office (unless I can find a way to do it online). That'll be one more thing I can check off on my list. :thumbsup2

Hey everyone :)

Got into work this morning and have watched all the YouTube videos and seen all the pictures, that ship is just.....BIG!!

Was exciting to see her finally make it home

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday. :thumbsup2

I agree. When we were on the Wonder, Clayton was the assistant cruise director. I am still looking for the name of the guy who was cruise director---didn't care for him.

The cruise you took in November...did you stop in Nassau? If so, how did you like Nassau? In February, we are going on the Magic and doing a Southern Caribbean. Looking forward to that. St. Maartens and St. Thomas. Looking forward to the cruise...need it bad!!!!

Have a good evening and take care.:flower3:

While I didn't get off the ship in Nassau for this cruise, I did on an earlier one. Personally, I don't care for Nassau, it might have beautiful areas/beaches, but you have to traverse some of the dirtiest areas I have ever seen. Plus all the people trying to sell you junk...just not my cup of tea.
My DS11 and I are sailing on the Dream the 30th of this month :banana: and we'll not be getting off at Nassau this trip either.

Have ya'll checked out the Disney Cruise Line website recently? Go to the restaurant section. They have posted new pictures on each of the restaurants!! They really look fantactic!!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Hi...thanks for your input on Nassau--it reminds me of Jamaica. We cruised there on another cruise line years ago. It was the same as you described of Nassau.

Hi David...watching the Dream come into port...I was in awe!!!! I cannot wait to cruise on the Dream. What a beautiful ship!!!! So very exciting. Thanks for the info...I will go check out the pictures.

I renewed my passport today, So I'm all set!! It was funny last night at Costco, getting my passport photo done. She had to take several shots, as the flash kept making my forehead shine. She said normally they use photoshop to touch those types of things up, but their software was not working yesterday. One other gentelman was standing there, waiting his turn for the same type of photo. Well after having me dab my head with tissue for the 4th time, this guy grins and says, if they just cover the overhead ceiling light, that would solve the problem, and joked about how much work the whole passport photo taking process is. Well, he had me laughing, then it was time to take what was the final photo of me, but I had a hard time stopping the grinning and laughing, oh my, and it didn't help when the photographer herself started to grin, it took all I had to put on a straight face for that damn photo! And you know what? Of all photos of me ever taken, I like this one the best!! Even though there is no smile, I actually am very pleased with how it turned out! I wonder if they do family portraits? :thumbsup2

The passport office today went very smoothly, I took a friend with me as we went across the boarder onto the Quebec side to make a visit to the passport office there. I was in and out in 15 minutes! Easy Peasy! So now both myself and DS7 have all our travel documentation in order. Our Pastor is going to help me with the travel letter I may need, as I'll be travelling without my DH but have our child with me. Now to just pay off the cruise!!:)

Hello everyone...hope you're having a good day. TGIF!!!!! Any plans for the weekend? None here...staying home to relax.

Did anyone watch the Wonder leave PC for the last time yesterday? I did...it was sad to see her leave. Have a lot of great memories. She is headed to Los Angeles. Will miss her.

Now..if you go to Port Canaverals webcam....you can see the Dream!!!! She is a beautiful ship.

Oops! Sorry....I forgot to take you off when I re-posted that. I'll make sure to update it with just you and DS.

We went to Walgreens to get our passport pictures because they were half the price of the Post Office. When we went to the Post Office to fill out paperwork to get our passports, they made DH take another picture because his eyes were too squinty in the Walgreens' picture. Then they almost made us have DD (2 1/2 at the time) get another picture. But I explained to them that their picture would look the same as the one we already had because she cried every time she was getting her picture taken. :rotfl2: (Yep, her passport picture is a picture of her crying :lmao:)

I'm glad you & DS have your passports...one more thing to check off the list, right?! :thumbsup2

Hi Monika! Yes, I watched the Wonder leave yesterday. I got sad. Then I watched this video today and actually shed a tear: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aVsCsthfs0

My plans for the weekend are: clean house, do laundry, clean house, do laundry, go to DS's basketball game, clean house do laundry. There is not one spot in my house that isn't cluttered with stuff that needs to be thrown away or put away! :upsidedow

I hope everyone else has a great weekend!

Here is a picture of the Dream as she sailed off to sea tonight taking Disney CM's and their family members.

David, welcome back and glad to hear that you are feeling better today. I've had a bad cold since Christmas and it just won't go away. This is what I look like right now----> a real sad sight.

Have you been keeping up with the Dream? She is in port right now. I keep going to the ports webcam to look...she is beautiful!!!!! I can't wait to sail.

Hi and :welcome: aboard. This will be our first 3 day to the Bahamas as well but we have done several Disney cruises in the past. We have done a few Disney Vacation Club members cruises and a couple of 7 day cruises. Soooooo much fun. February 26th, we will be on the Magic for a 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise...can't wait for that. Looking forward to chatting with you and meeting you. Ask any questions you may have.

Have a great day and take care....:flower3:

:welcome::welcome::welcome: to you Lightning McQueen and your girlfriend. How nice...............2 weeks at WDW then a cruise on the Dream too. Can't get any better then that!!!!:cool1::woohoo::thumbsup2 The Bahamas are nice. I think you will enjoy seeing the island. Our first time there we took the tour of Atlantis, so we will be skipping that this time around. We plan on seeing more of the historical sites of the island. Also, this is a back2back cruise for DW and I, so what we don't see the first cruise we can see on our next stop there. That is if, and that is a big if.....................we get of the ship at all. We may stay on board to check out more of this beautiful ship!!!

Well, guys, I better get to work now. Talk to ya'll again soon!!:woohoo:

:welcome: to our thread! There is A LOT to do on the cruise. When you check in at the port and then each night when your stateroom host/hostess turns down your bed, you will get a Navigator. That tells what activities are going on everywhere on the ship. Bring a highlighter and highlight what you want to do. You can't do everything, there's simply too much to do. Make sure and see a Broadway style show. They have one every night. At Nassau, a lot of people don't care for the island, they take a taxi over to Atlantis. But since it's your first cruise, I suggest you at least check Nassau & Paradise Island out.

If you have any questions, ask away....there are lots of "veteran" cruisers on this thread! :thumbsup2

Thanks so much to Time4disneynow, davidls, Luckymomoftwo - you are all so welcoming!

We just cannot wait until our cruise! When we went to WDW in 2009, it was our first visit and it blew our minds! So when we were on the magical express going back to the airport :( we saw the video for the Disney Cruises and thought "that means we don't have to go home so quickly after WDW!" so here we are. Looking forward to hearing more and hopefully meeting you all on the Bahamas cruise, woohoo! :goodvibes

Hi everyone!

I'd just like to drop in and introduce myself. DW (TifffanyD) & I have just booked ourselves on this cruise and we're really looking forward to it. This will be our 4th DCL sailing and 6th cruise overall. We have 2 3-Night cruises under our belts and one 7-Night. This past October we had our first 7-Night Disney Cruise and had a blast (looks like we're sailing together again, tjbaggott...remember us?). We really wanted to get on the Dream at some point, but didn't think we would be able to for a while...but then we found this cruise and the time worked out well for us.

We're really looking forward to the ships new features (like the AquaDuck), and we hope that it will be warm enough in Castaway Cay to venture out in the water to try out Pelican Plunge...the water was a bit too cold on our last trip to Castaway Cay.
