Just received a application for the Disney credit card which pays you back in Disney Dream Reward Dollars........Anyone know anything about it and if it is worth signing up for. Can you use the $$$$$$$ on the cruise?

Thanks:crazy:

YES...it is more than worth it!!! I am using mine like a mad man...or should I say mad woman? My husband and I have always gone with American Express for the cash back program and the extra Disney benefits, but when Disney came out with their own credit card, they cut their ties with American Express and now give the deals directly to you if you use their card. I have only received one statement so far, and have earned 1 point per every hundred spent. You do get extra points when you purchase Disney trips, merchandise, etc. Once you earn enough points you can redeem them for merchandise vouchers, which can be used on the cruise!! They also give you 6 months free of finance charges if you purchase a Disney trip with your card, and the Disney Cruise Line will give you a $50.00 onboard room credit just for paying with your card. This is one card that should be charged up monthly, especially if you can pay it in full each month to truly reap the benefits!!!
ENJOY!!!

BankOne, who sponsors the Disney card, also offers a 1% CASH back VISA card. Why limit yourself to rewards that can only be spent on Disney?

You might want to check the interest rate. The offer I got had an interest rate twice the amount I'm paying now.

I just got my first $20 in Disney Reward dollars yesterday in the mail. YEAH! Hope I have a lot more by the time I cruise.

You don't need to worry about the interest rate if you pay off your card every month.

By all accounts, this is a crummy deal. 1% cash back is an insult as affinity cards go.

I agree that it's not as big of a deal as it seems, however, what we decided is when we book a trip (we have one next Feb 2004), it made sense to use the card until we get to the point where we can cash it all in and get some vouchers (even if only $50-100 it's on a trip we know we are going on).. then will swtich back to using another credit card for the airmiles, benefits, etc.., once we have used the credits earned on the trip.
