Tuscloosa is a sad, sad place right now. The tornado on April 27 left a big scar on our city. Clean up and rebuilding continue daily but it is so hard to look down 15th street and try and remember what used to be there.
My husband was at DCH hospital while his dad was in surgery the day the tornado came through. He was talking to me on the phone and looking at the tornado on TV not fully realizing that it was a mere 500 yards away. Literally, apartment complex damaged, railroad tracks, parking lot and the glass enclosed waiting room he was standing in.
We were fortunate. Our lives and our home were spared. But Tuscaloosa will not be the same for quite some time. Things like that sure make you think about what is really important. Its not money or possessions.... its family and time spent with family that count the most (after God, of course).... Money will always come and go, possessions can be replaced but time with family could be lost forever, therefore should be cherished and protected.
So... we cheish and protect and we are going on a
Disney cruise.... with family.
