Disney Dream - Nov 3, 2011

It's amazing how I can talk myself into spending more money in order to use up a SWA credit. It's booked. We'll fly into Las Vegas on a Sat and visit my DH cousins who live outside of Las Vegas. Then Sun we'll drive out to the Grand Canyon and hit Hoover Dam on the way back. Monday will check out the Strip before we fly home very late in order to get the cheap flight. Then I can cross off another item on the bucket list.

Booked DS into the kids club, booked pedi on Nassau day for myself!!
Question about renting the tubes at CC...do the tubes get marked, how do you know if they belong to someone? We cruised on the Wonder 4yrs ago and at CC we just used a tube that was sitting around. Oops did we take someones rented tube? I do know we are going to rent bikes.

We are staying at OKW starting 10/28. DS 10th birthday is the next day. He knows about the trip, but thinks we are leaving the Sunday after his birthday. He is going be surprised when we pick him up from school early Fri. Also made ressies at Chef Mickey birthday morning and we ate their on his 5th birthday morning. He's going to be excited.

Well my Grand Canyon trip has changed after reading more reviews on the Skywalk. Now we're staying 2 nights at the South Rim and 1 night in Las Vegas.

Right now, I am freaking out because I read some NOT so GREAT reviews about my stateroom. Apparently there is some unseen passageway with a door behind the walls that causes a lot of noise throughout the day and especially at night. Out of the 4 reviews I read, all 4 families had to request to be moved and they all were. So I am waiting on my TA to get back to me, so she can request a room change. I found one available room in my category on Deck 7. I don't want to upgrade because I spent enough money as it is lol and my category is now more than double of what I paid!

Crisis Averted LOL - my TA changed my stateroom, I'm now 7023 I'm so glad that I found this out before.

This is my first post on the disboards but I have been reading them for years (on & off). My partner and I are sailing on this cruise with you all and I'm so excited! It's all I can think about these days. We are doing WDW (Yacht Club) for 4 nights, then hopping on the Dream - all in celebration of my 30th birthday, woohoo!

I did a lot of research on these boards, but still have some questions about some of the lingo on this thread:

- What do the initials mean (DH, DW, etc.)? I'm concluding this means Dis Husband, Dis Wife, etc... am I off base?

- What is the Fish Extenders program/game? Is it like a White Elephant event?

The Fish Extender is a gift exchange. The name comes from the Fish by your cabin door that people use to hang a pouch to hold the gifts others drop off. Mainly fun little stuff or candy.

Hello Everyone,
DW-55 & I DH-55 are excited about our first Disney Cruise. I was thinking about a 7 day west coast Mexican cruise aboard the Wonder last spring when DW said we did not have our passports. We took care of that little problem and everyone I talked to said they would not go to Mexico at this time. So, it's the Bahamas and CC for us! We will be at POR for 5 nights before boarding the Dream. I am hoping for great weather this trip as it was way too hot two years ago.
So far we have booked Discover Atlantis 11:15 — 3:15.

Welcome JonKPest and DW! Sounds like you have a wonderful trip planned.

We enjoyed our stops in Cabo and PV on the January Panama cruise and plan on doing the Mexican cruise in April. Our excursions at both places left from the same marina's the ships used so we felt fairly safe with our choices. Nassau seemed rougher to me than either of our Mexico stops. That said, you have to do what you feel comfortable with, either way, you'll have a great time.

I plan on booking both Mexico and Alaska for 2012 or maybe 2013. We are going to buy the Premier APs and will cruise again after the 12 months runs out. I wish they offered California discounts not just SoCal Only.
How far out can you book your next cruise while onboard? I heard you can get a good discount.

You can book as far out as the schedule is open (right now it's 2012). I just picked a dummy date and then I'll move it later when I figure out when I want to use it. I would think 2013 will be open by this cruise.

10% discount on the base fare and OBC if you book while on board.

Busy week and I'm so glad this trip is getting closer all the time. Cruise documents came today!

We've moved our April MR cruise with family and friends to Mar 4th to take advantage of the Kids Sail Free promotion since we have 6 adults and 6 kids in 3 cabins, so it was a great savings. Also my SIL's family is joining us so they were happy campers to get the discount too.
