Disney Dream ~ May 18-22, 2015

I've been lurking along here, as we are booked for this cruise, but it seemed that this thread was not very active and there is no leader that I can discern. If someone is leading/willing to lead, we're interested in participating in the FE. This is our first Disney Cruise and we're very excited! :cool1:

It's me, DH, and DD (2). We're all WDW veterans and are excited to ride on "Mickey's boat" (what DD says). WDW weekends before and after too! :thumbsup2

DH and I took a Royal Caribbean cruise in 2008 and loved it, but no such thing as FE there, so that is new to us. We'd love to join in, though! :goodvibes

Hi again- I would be willing to get a tally going of FE participants, but need to know if adults are included in this? I'm totally new, so I thought it was just for kids, but after reading several of these posts there are quite a few couples who are going without kiddos. As of right now (MONDAY JAN 12) I have a tally of 36 KIDS. This does not include the posts that do not state specifically the # of kids in the group...for example one said "my 3 kids, siblings, nephews..." I only counted the 3 kids from that post.
So- please repost specifics if you have not done so...and someone let me know if adults are in on this too.
Thanks:hippie:

Hey everyone this will be mine and my husbands first cruise and we would deff like to do the FE! We were supposed to be cruising right now but unfortunately we had to cancel so this is our reschedule.

Thank you MandyLandy for taking this on! We all appreciate it. Maybe to keep the list up to date, EVERYONE interested in participating in the FE can post again starting now. (And include information on adults) just incase anyone has changed their mind? Kind of a roll call :cheer2:

Happy New Year everyone. So happy to join this thread and we are UK DCL newbies after 25 years of WDW visits and becoming DVC owners. So looking forward to a new obsession.
We will be DH Peter and DS Mike who is 16. Please tell me someone else has some teens on board for the Vibe- he swears there won't be because of the time of year :worried:
Would love to do the FE too but is there a lead on this re numbers, groups etc or is it going to you Mrs. Woody as you posted first, lol:) or is there another sticky. I have missed??
Sandie

Sandie,

We just booked (getting married on the ship) and will be travelling with our DS15 and DD11 as well as parents and possibly a few other friends/relatives. We are also DVC members and have spent numerous vacations at WDW...this is only our second Disney cruise though.

Tell your son not to worry...there will be other teens...most cruisers have no idea about these boards.

Rob

My husband and I will be taking this cruise alone as a graduation present for me (YAY!) and also as a last hurrah before I begin my Master's program over the summer. :cool1: I would like to join in on the FE as well and look forward to meeting other dis'ers. My husband is supportive of my Disney addiction, but is not a fellow Dis freak. Would love to meet other couples if there is anyone else traveling without little ones

Hey!! It will just be myself (25) and my husband (26) as well going on the cruise!! Congrats on your upcoming graduation! We should meet up in one of the bars or pools! :cool1:

Vanessa (25) Dairy Intolerance, Anthony (26), Dog-Pluto, Cabin#:8572

I would like to know who has pets so I could give a gift for the pets who had to stay at home since we don't have children.

At time of sailing:
Melissa (38) Gene (41) DD Emma (11) DD Anna (8) and one doggie Sadie staying at home ;)

No food allergies
Deck 5... I have to check on actual cabin number

So excited for the FE!

As of this post (1/13 @ approx 1700) there are 38 kids, 68 adults and 2 dogs that showed interest in FE. Again, this does NOT include the kids or adults who were grouped in a post like "nephews, relatives, friends"...etc. I only counted specific numbers that were given, or specific family members listed.
As you all can see I'm "earning my ears" so I'm totally new to this...but does purchasing/making at least 108 gifts seem a little much? It certainly does to me, so chances are I will only be bringing gifts for the kids, as that is all I expect for my FE. I need help from you seasoned cruisers... How was this divided up in the past, or is 108 an expected #?
Thank you

Hi All! My wife and I are signed up for this cruise! We moved it up a few weeks from our anniversary to get a chance to be at WDW for Star Wars Weekends and the Memorial Day holiday time off. :thumbsup2

I'm 32, my wife will be 29 at time of sailing. Sounds like we have a few fun young couples going! We met a pair of life long friends on our first cruise that joined us on our second cruise! Sadly they can't come this time, so we'll be looking for some cruisin' buddies.:wave2:

This is our 3rd Disney cruise. We cruised the Magic on the Mediterranean in June 2013 and a repositioning on the Wonder from San Diego to Vancouver May 2014. So this will be our first Dream class ship! I switched from a 3 night to a 4 night just so we can dine at each restaurant and Remy! :mickeybar

We haven't done the FE's yet, but maybe I can talk my wife into it. We have annual passes to Disneyland and go about 3 times a month. If anyone needs anything from the California park (20% off) let me know! :teacher:

Pirate night! Yes! Our last repo cruise had a Pixar Pals party which wasn't as fun as Pirate night. Looking forward to that! pirate:

Also huge fan of the movies, I'm sad, I think we'll miss a premiere of Tomorrowland as it opens the last day. Unless they do a midnight showing? But we will get Avengers! I doubt Disney will show Pitch Perfect 2. They will probably show Cinderella too. popcorn::

Yay! That's us! We were really lucky to find a great couple from Denver on our first cruise and we talked them into booking the California Coast cruise with us. So we've had friends both times. My wife and I don't go too crazy with drinks on-board but we enjoyed meals with our friends and hanging out late going to the shows, variety acts, or just playing some board games in the late evening lounges.

Oddly enough we've been on 2 cruises and have yet to go in the pools! Haha. Definitely will be doing the Aquadunk this time!

Okay, I'm not a seasoned Disney cruiser, but I am on the DIS a lot and lurked this thread for a long time before posting, so I'll take a crack at answering this vaguely enough that my post doesn't get removed. :rolleyes1

I think that the counts are actually much lower than what you have listed, as many of the people who posted early on have moved to another non-DIS place to plan their FE/cruise meets/etc. Given the DIS policy posted recently, I can't really say any more, other than there seem to be a lot of people in that other place and they are probably not interested in this FE anymore, as they likely are part of another. Someone from there stopped by here earlier today and invited us, but that post seems to have been deleted. I have not joined the other place and don't really want to, so I am hoping we can organize something here on the DIS, as the moderator's guidelines recommend.

So, I would only go with the people who have responded recently (after the roll call request that Ottes4 posted last night). Otherwise, I don't think we can count on earlier posters that haven't returned.

I am totally new to FE, though, so I don't know how it normally works. I saw somewhere (earlier in this thread?) that groups are usually capped at 10-15 families or something? That seems more manageable.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As far as our family's info:
Me "Dugette" (38 by the time we sail), DH "Dug" (37 by the time we sail), DD Izzy (will be 2 years and 8 months by cruise), Pets at home: dog Bailey and cat Kitty (I can give our real names offline, if needed - send a PM or something). We are in stateroom 8100.

Thanks for taking on the organization of this MandyLandy! :goodvibes

Probably the best thing to do is ask MrsWoody, the OP, if they can edit the 1st post in the forum to add a list of who's cruising and who's in the FE with info needed like # of people, ages, stateroom #'s. Then when someone joins, they can just edit the 1st post and add them in. That is how they did it on my other 2 cruises.

Kind of like the 2nd post in this thread http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=47609635&postcount=2

Thank you for your help and information that some have moved on. I didn't realize alot of the posts (before I came around) were from early last year.

So to those who posted BEFORE Jan 12 2015...please re-post your interest in FE along with ages of participants and cabin number. Also, as requested by a fellow cruiser, feel free to add if you have pets waiting at home so those who chose to get gifts for pets can do so. Thank you for being patient with me.

If we close the FE sign up at the end of March, will that be enough time to get gifts made/ordered? So close at the end of March or cap at 15 families...whichever is first. I will keep everyone posted if the cap comes well before the deadline. Please let me know if there are any concerns.
:fish::fish::fish:

We are cruising with you all too! It will be me, DH, DS (6), MIL, SIL, BIL. We are in cabins 5534 and 5536. We will also be interested in participating in FE. We will be at Disney the week before the cruise celebrating my son's birthday and the cruise is a suprise for my SIL and BIL for graduating from college this year! :cool1: Can't wait to cruise with you all!

This is coming together nicely. Thank you to all who took time to read my post and reply. VanessaDisney4L- I got you, DH & Pluto down :thumbsup2
We have 6 families so far, and will cap at 15.
:wave2:

I asked DCL about a movie premiere, I think they may show a midnight showing of Tomorrowland at the theater our last night! I hope they do, it looks awesome! I'll be super tired the next day, yikes.

Thanks for the info! I will have to tell DH - seems like something he'd be interested in. :thumbsup2

Re-posting as we would still like to get in on the FE!

Will be me and my DH, my two DS's (13 and 2), my DD (1), mother and father, and MIL!
