It has been 6 years since we did a Disney Cruise - I know, long overdue. We are looking at booking the Disney Dream in March - 4 nights - Bahamas -
We did the Fantasy in 2012 - 7 nights Eastern Caribbean
What do I need to know before booking? I want a Verandah - I would prefer first seating
me, my husband and my 14 year old daughter
Any information is helpful - including excursions
Thanks
Kelly

Picking a room is really a matter of what you want. The room itself (within a category) are basically the same. Midship is generally thought "best", but may prefer aft rooms, or forward. Higher deck or lower - up to you and what you want to be close to.

As for the dinner seating, the default when booking online is late seating. You can change that, if there's availability for main (early) seating. We prefer Main seating, other like late.

The Dream is very similar to the Fantasy. Did you like the room you had in 2012? You could try for that same room number or one near it on the Dream.

I will be doing the Fantasy forthe first time in 18 years in March 2019. What I've been doing is searching on this board with key phrases or googling Disney Fantasy excursion reviews or Disney Fanatsy tips or DF blogs and gathering info that way. What I have discovered is universal: a party of 3 or more should take a hired car transfer from MCO to Port Canaveral instaed of the bus to avoid the large group check in. Party of 3 on Disney RT is $210, private car, $270 RT. I'll pay $60 to NOT stand in line with a busload of people.
If you are crafty, people do fish extenders now-little gifts between other sailing families. Google them. I have an 8 year old and I will be doing this for her.
Apparantly Viator is a reliable excursion aggregate site if you want to book your excursions today instead of waiting 75 days before sailing. And cheaper.
There's a lot more good advice out there, too. It just takes an evening.
