Disney Dream - June 9, 2013 - 4 night

So excited! Just was able to successfully book, at midnight, exactly 75 days out when it opened online, a Palo dinner reservation and a Palo brunch reservation, also booked 2 Port Adventures: in Nassau, Ardastra Gardens and a city tour; on Disney's Private Island, Castaway Cay, got the getaway package with a 3 bike rental, snorkel equipment, and paddleboats; and finally booked a 30 min. Interactive virtual sports simulator for onboard the ship fun one day. Debated Remy, but went along with a Palo dinner and Palo brunch. Also got a 11:30 am board time.

SO glad you mentioned the boarding time! I forgot to finish the booking and just did it. Got the 11:00- 11:30 time. Hopefully, they have the water slide up and going at that time. Thanks for posting your reservations! Sounds like you're going to have a blast. I chose Palo over Remy as well. We are going to the British Colonial Hilton in Nassau which is walking distance from the port and getting a day pass for the private beach, pools, etc. They offer snorkel/ catamaran for an extra charge. I can't wait to sit in the shade with a cold tropical drink in my hand. :beach:
Hope that everyone with all of the snow are hanging in there. We didn't even get a flurry this year. :(

I'm excited to have gotten the same check in time for the rest of the family this morning that we received for ourselves a few weeks ago. Now, if they will give all of us a low boarding number I'll be set!

Happy 75 days out everyone!

So when do we get the boarding number??

I couldn't stay up so my husband did it. We got an 11am check in time.

Just got an email about the new Monter University movie. Bummer, it comes out June 21. Thought that we might be able to see it on the ship.

Does anyone know if Duffy, the Disney bear, will be on the Dream? My daughter loves him.

Boarding numbers are given out when you check in at the Port. Basically, your online check in today will get most of the paperwork done and will give you the option of picking a port ARRIVAL time. The port arrival time will be when you will complete your check in at the counter and get your keys and other information along with the boarding number.

They board the ship sort of like an airplane where there are zones. Lowest numbers board first. Typically ones and twos are for the Gold level Castaway members (have sailed 5 times or more on DCL). I think that the numbers go up into the 40s.

We didn't see Duffy on our last cruise on the Dream in 2011 but that doesn't mean that he won't be there.

This whole "check-in" 75 days out is killing me. It's like registering for your wedding at the stores...you feel like you just shopped all day long and come home empty handed. But this is...I just checked in, shouldn't we be leaving tomorrow!!!

Anyway, I cannot thank everyone enough for all the tips.

1. I am super excited for the FE. But I am a little nervous if say 30 more cabins sign up. That's a LOT of stuff to bring. I know there is a deadline, but will there be a max number of cabins. And when do we get names for the kids?

2. I am looking forward to our Palo Brunch at 10:30am on our "At Sea Day". I know it will be awesome!

3. Since I was asleep, my husband took it upon himself to book the wrong excursion at Castaway Cay. I told him just do the adventure with the bike rental, snorkels, and floats. He did the one that added the Sting Ray thing. He said "Oh well, it will be awesome, who cares?" Ok, ouch twist my arm!

I am still looking forward to relaxing on that verandah in the morning with my coffee!!

Super sad!!!

I tried to go online to book our excursions last night, but it wouldn't let me in. It said my email address was already registered. I booked through a travel agent who does have my email - but I don't know what password she would have used??? I left her a voicemail, but haven't heard back from her yet. :sad1:

I will ask the travel agent, but does anyone know how transportation from Art of Animation to Port Canaveral will work? Do we set what time we want to go, or is it already scheduled and we just get there when they tell us we get there?

So sad ... hope you've contacted her by now. I hope you get all of the excursions, dining res., etc. that you want! :tinker:

Your log in should be the same as your log in onto any Disney, ABC, or any other GO.com website. If you have logged into any of those before, try that. Hopefully that will work. You will also need your reservation number and the birth date of the primary passenger for the cabin.

If you booked a Land/Sea package, your travel agent may have booked Disney's ground transportation for you from the resort to the Port on the morning of departure. If this was not included already, you can add it to your reservation. Note that unlike Magical express and the resort buses, there is a charge per person for that transportation.

The bus will typically pick you up at the resort's main building where check in is located. You will need to find out what time to be at the Main Building for the bus but the Cast Members at the resort check in should be able to help with that. You will be on one of the Disney Cruise Line buses with the Port Hole windows for your trip to the ship.

If you have a car, you also have the option of driving to the Cruise Terminal (a little over an hour away) and parking in the cruise terminal parking garage. Last time I checked, the parking rate was around $15 per day.

Thanks for the replies - the TA did book the ground transportation for us (at the additional fee). Sounds like the departure time is arranged once I choose my boarding time online.

The TA said that she did not register my email online, but my DD does have a Disney Fairy online membership, so it sounds like that may be how my email is already registered. I did not even consider that!

It is killing me not to get on now to book my excursions - but too many interruptions at work to do it now. Darn job always getting in the way.

This is my first Disney cruise and I absolutely can't wait! I have registered online and got the first arrival time. I have been researching everything that I can to make it fantastic. Can anyone recommend an excursion in Nassau? I have been to Nassau several times so I am not sure what would be unique... Also, is anyone else going to do the rainforest?

I am so excited too! I got the excursions I wanted and Palo for brunch on the at sea day! We are doing the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Swim in Nassau and the stingray adventure on castaway key.

I would like to buy the rainforest pass too, but I don't know how to do it.... Any advise would be appreciated.

Oh, and I do have to remove my 23 yr old nephew from the FE exchange. He has summer school and work commitments already. I am disappointed, but he will graduate in December so I will have another trip to plan!

Let me know If anyone new wants to join us. We will likely close it out about a month out. If our list grows too long, we can always split it into two groups.

If we start surpassing 20 cabins we can make a group decision on splitting up if need be. If you need kids names, perhaps folks can personal message you of they don't want to post that information?

Welcome aboard! I saw in your message very interested in FE. Would you like me to add you to the group? If so, I need cabin number, number and sex of adults and children in the cabin too.

Hi RunnerMomO, yes he was the other adult in my room, so it will be a girls only trip this time!

My booking window opened today. While I wasn't able to get a cabana on Castaway Cay, I did get a Palo reservation! I also booked a couples massage foe my wife and her BFF.

Booking these things makes the trip feel very real to me. I'm getting excited.....
