You are going to have a great time! :thumbsup2

It will be me, DW, DS(14 when we sail :scared1:), DS(13) and DD(9).

And now... the long wait begins. :bored:

Hello!

We just transferred an OBB to this cruise. It will be me, my DH, DS 13, and DD 9 on board.

Only 500+ days to wait. Sigh...:rolleyes1

DD will be a few weeks away from turning 14 when we sail. It's gonna be a long long wait.

Hi fellow cruisers!

We are planning our first cruise EVER! I'm a bit overwhelmed - there's SOOO many choices, but we landed on a Disney Dream cruise.

My boys will be 7 & 4 by the time we set sail.

Now, if it weren't so far away! :rotfl:

Tomorrow will be 82 weeks until our cruise.... 82 weeks sounds better than 574 days right ;) :rolleyes1

Those of you with teens/Tweens.. How do you keep up with them on the boat? DD will not want to stay with us the entire time but I'm a little nervous about giving her free reign of the ship.

We haven't figured that one out either. So far our 11 yr old doesn't really care for the Edge, so he either hangs with us or asks constantly to go wander alone. Of course, we have said no to that. In the end what it means is...we haven't participated in very many activities that only the 2 of us (ie:adults) want to do. Sigh... We will be on the 8-night Christmas sailing this year, so we're hoping he makes a friend or 2 or finds some activities to stay occupied. I will be reporting back after the trip with any info.

Our boys (11 and 12) for the most part had free run of the ship, however they had to stay together and check in on a regular basis. I had them take a wave phone with them too. I just knew I would have to pay to replace it, but they were able to keep up with it. :thumbsup2 It seemed to work well. We had a very, very thorough discussion about manners, running in the hallways, etc, etc, etc. When they are around us they are pretty well behaved. My fear is that they act like wild animals when we are not with them. :rotfl:

The night my wife and I ate at Remy, by boys actually escorted our 7 year old to the Lab from the dining room. The three of them had dinner by themselves.

With that being said, my wife and I are borderline psycho parents. Our kids have never had a baby sitter other than a family member. Our kids are never out of our site in public, etc. It just felt different on the ship. We let them enjoy the ship and (as far as I know:eek:) they did not take advantage of their freedom.

Hey cruisers!! How is everything going? I only have a few weeks left to the semester then I can start getting ready for the holidays. Anyone doing anything special this week?

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to you all!

:goodvibes

We just booked this cruise for our family of 5 and my BIL's family of 5. Of the group, I think DH & I are the only ones that have ever been on a cruise (2000 Carnival 3-night? to Key West & Cozumel). So first time DCL for all of us. We will have 6 kids in our group with ages at that time 11-boy, 9-boy, 9-girl, 7-girl, 5-boy, 4-girl. We probably won't tell the kids about the cruise until Christmas 2012 or maybe even Spring Break 2013. It seems like so far away! Thank goodness for the new year...at least now the trip is "next year" and not "2" years away!
