Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

Hi. Yeppers! we have 11 year old triplets. Two girls and one boy all fraternal. DS, I swear, wants to be Mickey when he grows up. We are doing the cruise and then heading over to WDW for a few days after.

I'm really curious about the tween club. The kids will be the right age, but since they don't start middle school until next year, I'm wondering if they'd be more comfortable in the regular kids club. We've been watching the videos and of course AFV is a staple on Sunday nights. Boy that ship looked crowded last week.

Anyone else with tweeners? Would love to have the kids make some new friends!
:hippie:pirate::wizard:

My DD (Rhee) is also 11 and starting middle school next year too! :yay: She would LOVE to have some kids her age to hang with on the ship. I know there are a few others here, too. They should meet! :thumbsup2 My kids were 10 and 7 on our first Disney (Magic) cruise, and they LOVED the clubs.. DD actually moved up to the "tween" club the first day, and made lots of friends - they went to movies, pool, etc. together around the ship. :)
Have you seen the first page of this thread with all the DIS meets listed?

Hey Everybody, I am so happy it's June! Woo Hoo!

Packing has started and school is almost over. DS Kevin has only 3-1/2 more days of school. Most of the books are turned in and the finals have all been taken. Tomorrow he goes with a team to an Englishfest competition, so that's a fun day out of the building. Then Friday and Monday and Tuesday his half day and done! We leave next Tuesday to stay overnight at a hotel in the airport area. I've been known to miss a plane by not leaving home soon enough, we live 70 miles and two tunnels away, so best to spend the $ to stay overnight and make our flight!

We are new DVC owneres so we will be staying for the first time at BLT and I am so excited to see it. I'm really worried about the heat cutting into my will to tour, but it will be great to be there. Then the Cruise! I am getting really excited. I hope to use tomorrow really well to get the wash done and pack clothes and toiletries.

Michele - I hope that advil worked!
Rose - Did you get dinner done before 9pm?

8:30!:thumbsup2

SINGLE DIGITS! :banana::banana::banana::banana::dance3:

At least for us. We are driving down on Saturday so in out book we are in single digits land. A good place to be! Today is also my last day of work. Our students finished last Friday and us teachers get to turn in keys and go home today! WOO HOO!

I'm so excited about this I woke up early (like one hour early!) HMMMMMMMM what to do? I guess I'll go try to bang out another installment on my trip report!

9 for us to Ash!:cool1::thumbsup2

Congrats on your last day of work too:woohoo:

We leave in 8 days!!!!:banana::banana: We start driving a week from Friday. Will stay Friday night in Lake City, FL, and then continue on to Port Canaveral on Saturday. Even though we're driving instead of flying, still wanted to be in the Port area on Saturday and not take any chances of missing the ship!

:cool1:

I was wondering if anyone has already gone.
I believe some families were going down a week early.

We leave tomorrow!!!! We will drop the dog off for boarding and get the car packed tonight. The kids have that last 1/2 day of school tomorrow (field day), I work tomorrow morning and DH has to work all day. I will get everything locked up at home tomorrow afternoon and the kids and I will pick him up from work right at 4 PM to start the drive to WDW. We plan to drive straight through the night arriving by lunchtime on Saturday. I can't believe it is really here after all this planning. :cool1:

Cool! Good luck with your drive:goodvibes

Hi, I just came across this forum and we are so excited to be doing our first Disney Cruise 6/12. I wish I found you all months ago! I've been lurking around the past couple of days and see lots of great suggestions on this site.

Can't wait for our Dream Vacation to begin!:dance3:
Welcome!

Rose, Tracy is also a computer "geek" as he calls it :) He built his computer and is going to build Hagan one too. (for gaming - they play W.O.W. and Battlefield) :rolleyes1

We don't have a lot of brackets and parts lying around, though.. at the moment. :laughing: When the new "project" starts, there will be all kinds of computer innards and carcasses everywhere :mad: I'll stick with my Apple iMacs!!! :thumbsup2

:lmao::rotfl2: Best one yet! :laughing: I hope your headache went away, though. :headache:

Cool! Sean sometimes has a hard time of finding people that he can chat about that stuff with.
Other than that he isn't really interested in much else so he's not quite the conversationalist.:rolleyes1

Chore time:headache:

Man will I love not doing any chores on vacation!
Other than unpacking and packing and an occasional ironing.:goodvibes:thumbsup2

Me, me! I have a 10 yr old DS who will turn 11 on June 18 (right after we disembark). He will actually be celebrating his birthday at Universal- I'm really hoping the big ol' honkin' birthday button that I am going to make him wear will get him picked at Ollivander's! :laughing: My son is Chris, by the way. He will be starting middle school this fall, but is not excited- he is scared to death! :sad2: I know he would love to make some friends on this trip....can't wait to meet you guys!

We will be in rooms 9560, 9562 and 9564. (Have grandparents -- will travel ;))We will stop at the DIS Meet on the 12th. Don't think we'll make to any of the pre-meets! We are also doing the catamarin snorkling excursion in Nassau. My kids are Elizabeth, Hannah and Jared. And oh by the way, I'm Michelle :)

Hello Fellow Cruisers!! :banana:

Geeze, I have procrastinated something AWEFUL today! LOL My neighbor called at 715 and said that her and another friend were going to Tim Horton's for breakfast....Please come! Sooo, I showered, flipped the wash and was out the door! Sat there until it was time for my pedi at 10! Ran home to grab Steve's forgotten phone, stopped at the bank for cash and to let them know we were traveling, then to meet my BFF for lunch. Stopped to drop the phone off and got home about 1. Did some packing, and finished the wash. It used to be that we could put one adult and one kid in each suitcase...only needing 2 to travel...well, no longer!! Colton's clothes take up a suitcase! I guess that's what happens when you become an adult size! LOL We might have 4 suitcases this time!

I am off to take Colton to the school so he can go with the band to play for graduation. Then back to FOCUS on packing!! (Dude! Focus, Little Dude!)

Welcome to Michelle and family!! Can't wait to meet you too!!!

Dogs go to the kennel at 10 in the morning....as soon as I get home, we'll leave!!

Have a good night!!

Double Dippin' THINKS she's already on vacation Dreamer.....

Michele/Tripletmom - where in PA are you from? We're in the NorthEast.

My DS is 12. He's a bit shy so it'll be great for him to meet other kids his age. We too will try to make the June 12th meet, but not any of the pre-meets as we'll be at OKW. My boys are Frankie (12) and Tony (8). We're doing the Auquaventure excursion. We've stayed at Atlantis before and my kids have been bugging us to go back since then.

We're staying in room 7616. Hoping to have the door decorated, but I've got to hide the magnets since they don't know we are cruising.

Also - I saw on another thread about baskets from "shirley" I can't seem to find the thread again with the link. Do any of you have it?

Flowers are going to look so good planted! What a great idea. I wish I had a green thumb and could actually keep plants and flowers alive. My sister-in-law calls our yard the place "where plants come to die". No, we are not paying them by the hour (thank God). They had to do the first part of the job-tearing down our old deck and then building the new one but leaving the rails off of the left side so our hot tub could be delivered. A week or so later (after finishing another job at another location) they came back to finish off the rail and the lattice around the bottom. They have been working on and off for the last month. I can't wait for it all to be done. All of our old deck furniture in strewn around the yard and I'm sure it is an eyesoar to our neighbors. I would hate to have it be another two weeks before it can all be cleaned up.

I know what you mean about wishing to have a green thumb. Usually, all of my plants die too. I'm going to have my sister, who is great with plants, help me pick out and plant the plants. Then I'm going to have her "teach" me how to take care of them. (Maybe I'll pay her to take care of them for me.):rotfl: I'm going to really try to remember to water them. I think they like that.

Well...we got some good news today.:banana::banana: My newest niece will be born this coming week on Wednesday. We were kinda bummed that we might not be around for the birth... we booked this cruise well before we knew a due date and had to explain how disney cruises go up $1,000 a day and must be booked early:rotfl:. I'm even thinking about leaving next Thursday after work and hanging in Orlando for a few days before the cruise now... to be continued.
