DH was able to patch the roof with some replacement shingles - should hold us for a while and Nathan was feeling well enough to go camping. He and DH left this morning before 10 and while it is not the best weather (windy with a high of 55 - low in the 40s tonight) it sounds like they are having a good time. It is strange to be away from him on his birthday though.

20 days left to go for us. I have not made much progress on packing and organizing for the trip but I decided that was because the rest of my house was such a mess. We have been so busy lately that I was really behind on laundry, housework, etc.. Since the boys were gone DD and I spend a bunch of time cleaning and getting caught up today mixed in with some fun with just the two of us. It looks much better. I am not done yet but I am hoping that means I can focus a little bit on getting ready for this trip. I have to admit that while we are vets at WDW and DCL combining them together in this massive trip with so much going on is a bit overwhelming even for me.

Glad to hear your son still got to enjoy his birthday and camping a bit and that you got some mother/daughter time.

Thanks! It's called ' stalling from doing all my chores when I get home from work and I don't feel like doing anything else'.

I think the three of us have now managed to try on all our clothes and have an idea of what we still need to buy. I'm hoping to get a start on shopping tomorrow. No docs here for us yet, but I'm sure they'll arrive from the TA soon. We did get out fish extender in the mail today though. Woo hoo!

No docs for you yet either? I'm sure they'll be along soon.

I'm sitting on my couch, only water tonight, trying to stay awake and read some DIS. Thinking of getting Tables in Wonderland for the land portion of our trip. Anyone use TiW?

Um, forgot what I was going to say, I dozed off there.

Oh, I remember, note to self: look for the FE! If I have to make another one we will most certainly miss the ship.

Giving myself pixie dust to find the FE! Is that allowed?

Went to a Third Day concert last night, BIG FUN!

Congrats, Ashman!! Pretty exciting getting those docs.
I love Third Day! Went to one of their concerts quite a few years ago. It was fantastic!

Why is it that every time I look at this site: http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-cruise-line/disney-dream-room-reports.cfm to see the reviews of rooms on the Dream, no one has still reviewed my stateroom!?

Has anyone else checked it out?

I have gone on that site a few times, and so far, my room has not been reviewed either.

Watched my baby girl graduate this evening! There were just about 600 graduates, the largest High School graduating class ever in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana. It was a very nice (although long) ceremony. Went to dinner afterwards with my family and then we will have a party tomorrow.

3DAN is my Taekwondo classification, Angela thought it would make a good nam de plume. Everyone says DAn all of the time. It's fine!!! You know, I think the bananas have been practicing "line" dancing. ANgela is coasternut!!

OK, I have a question. I called DCL to prepay the gratuities and told the rep I wanted to prepay the room host(ess), the server, and the asst server. In the cruise docs we got, they also have a "suggested" amount for the head server. I told the rep I didn't want to prepay that one- I would rather wait and see how much we see the head server. Isn't that another name for the maitre d'? In past cruises, we have rarely even SEEN the maitre d', much less had him/her do anything for us that would be deserving of a daily tip. My thinking is that we willl tip the maitre d' as needed. So, help me- is the head server the maitre d'? If so, should I tip him/her daily? The DCL rep told me I cannot prepay some of the tips- I have to do all 4 or not at all.

The head server is not the same as the maitre'd. The head server is a server is over the servers for a group of tables helping out as needed and directing the other servers while the maitre'd is over the entire dinning room. The maitre'd handles major issues that arise during dinning, over sees seating arrangements (the one you want to go to when you want to change your assigned table) and is over the entire dining room staff. The maitre'd is the one you probably will not see much of, but you should see your head server fairly frequently.
