Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

I think we are going to wait until we board to book our excursions. I know the first stop at Castaway we plan to do somewhat as a family day. Girls are doing bikes with my husband and my dad wants to show them around the island. My oldest has been talking to others on the teen thread and is interested in looking into the Wild Side for the second day but wants to hold off till she gets to the ship so she can see who she really clicks with.

That said is this a bad choice? With the increased number of passengers on the ship will she have trouble booking it later?

It is midnight Eastern, right? That means I only have to stay up until 11:00 - a perk of living in the Central time zone. That hour will mean a lot considering I just lost one last night. :sad2:

I figured Pirate Night would be Nassau night - I think it has always been on Nassau night on all those cruises. I do want to book a Palo dinner and I am considering the 2nd night - may just depend on what I can get. We know we don't want the 1st night or pirate night. DH is really not sure he wants to do Palo at all but I figure it is best to try to get the reservation and then cancel it than to just wait and see.

So far no plans to book any excursions. I might take a peak over there today just to double check but I think we will just play things by ear in port.

On all the past cruises we have done, we didn't find out our dining rotation until they printed out our card at the port and it was listed on that.
Anyone signing their teens up for the Wild Side at Castaway Cay? If so are they doing the 1st stop or 2nd stop? Taylor wants to do it but can't decide which day.
Can't believe that it is almost time for online check-in!!!:cool1::woohoo::banana:

Our son Kyle (16) wants to do the Wild Side. He figures he'll hang out with the family the first stop and do the Wild Side the second stop. That's his plan but you know teens!

I'm having a hard time believing that they are doing Pirate Night on a port day. if I remember correctly we leave Nassau a bit later than we do CC. Oh well, makes no difference to us I'm just happy we're under 3 months until the cruise.

Beth - I asked Rowan about the Wild Side on Castaway Cay she wasn't too sure about the snorkelling LOL. She's never done it before. And not being sure what the kids she'd be hanging out with would be doing... She's been a bit iffy about it. I think she'd really enjoy it. She ran to get donuts this morning (one of the perks of having a teen driver). When she gets back I'll let her know that someone else from the group is thinking of doing it and see if that sways her any. Not sure what day she'd be interested in it though. Reminds me, I need to get her over to the teen chat page.

Our teen, Kyle, has never snorkeled before he figured there would be others that have never done it either. Kyle has been on the teen chat page, he's hoping to see other teens on it. The chat page has just recently been taking off.

Anyone going to be up at midnight tonight to book stuff?
I am!:thumbsup2:yay::woohoo:

Hi Rose! Since I'm on Central Time, I think I can start at 11:01pm our time. While I'm not going to be trying for Palo or Remy ressies, I want to go ahead and stay up and do my online checkin and hopefully get a 10:30am port arrival time.

I'll let Rowan know. especially about the snorkeling. She's "napping" right now. Poor thing is drained from having to take the SAT yesterday  But I think I'm going to go in there and point her to the teen board.

ewinme - My daughter, Rowan, is thinking the same thing. Wait until she sees who she clicks with. But I'm like you and a bit worried that with a fuller ship we may not be able to book it on board. Of course, knowing teens they'll find something else to do and won't feel deprived for missing that excursion. I know Ro is looking forward to biking around the island.

Taylor decided to sign up for the Teen Wild Side on the 2nd day at CC. I am going to go ahead and sign her up tonight as I am afraid that it will book up with a full ship and she really wants to do it. As far as the snorkeling, Taylor had never snorkled until we did it at Castaway Cay. The fact that the waters are calm make it a great first spot. I had never snorkled either, but really enjoyed it.
I will be up to do online check in at midnight tonight. That way we are 1 step closer to Double Dippin'!
I started my FE gifts and made proto-types. I am going to show my crafty friend at school tomorrow and see what she thinks. I really like the way they turned out so I hope she agrees and then I can start making more of them!
Is it June yet?!!!:beach:
Beth

I'm signing Rowan up for the Teen Wild Side on the 2nd Castaway Cay day as well. It sounded like that's what most were leaning towards. So I'll be on at 11:01 (Central here) trying to get that booked for her :goodvibes

I need to decide which of two ideas I have for the FE gift I'm going to do. I'm taking 2 days of vacation later this week so maybe I'll run out and get stuff to do a couple of prototypes and see which comes out better.

I'll be up and on then. Perhaps a nap first;)
Then looking to book a brunch at Palo and Couples Massgae and perhaps the checkin too.

Any advantage to an earlier arrival time?
They still won't let you board till 1 though correct?

I believe boarding begins anywhere between 12 noon & 1pm. But the earlier you arrive and check in at the port, the lower your boarding number will be. The lower numbers get called first to board. Although I'm not trying for Palo or Remy, I want to go ahead and book my Nassau excursion.

but I think I have read on some trip reports about an Italian restaurant close to the CI&S. Can't remember the name right now ???

You might be thinking of Kelsey's...I think it is close to your hotel...it's pretty good, but Italian is so subjective... (sorry if this was already answered, I;m a few pages behind)

Less than 2 hours. Stressed!!! We have decided on Waverunners CC and Sea Lion encounter for Nassau, but the real decision: when to try for Palo's. I don't want to miss anything, but DH really wants to go to Palos. I really wish they would assign restaurants. It would make things so much easier. I had thought of trying for Palos in the later evening, but don't want to miss any of the shows. We are early seating with the 9pm show. Maybe we could eat an appetizer with the kids and then do Palos. Or maybe Palos on the last night. Anyone know show rotation yet?

Everyone Good luck with the 12:01 booking. If anyone wants some company for the palo reservation DW and I would be more than happy to tag along;) We have until the 29th to check in.

We got the kids passports yesterday another thing to check off the list. They are really starting to get excited.

So glad the clocks changed this weekend. It is much easier to stay up tonight since it was a hour earlier yesterday. 35 minutes and counting.
