Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

Yes Rose. Saw this the other day, but I love watching it over and over again. Gets me excited all over again about the cruise.

My daughter & I are vacationing in Panama City Beach, FL right now. Have been here since Friday, but will be leaving tomorrow. Just a long weekend getaway. Then back to work on Tuesday. She starts back to school in a couple of weeks.

Just got the oldest son off to the National Scout Jamboree, 1 am this morning they left, arrived at 6am. I am sure that he is working hard setting up camp.

We are going to visit, leaving on Tuesday. Then headed to Myrtle Beach on Friday for a little fun in the sun.

I have heard that ticket prices will go up on the first Sunday in August, anyone have any idea how much they will increase them by?

Yep, for the past few years they've announced the new ticket prices the first Friday in August and actually raised them on Sunday. For a one day, one park ticket it'll prob go up somewhere between $4-$7 dollars...keep in mind though that with the way the Magic Your Way tickets are set up if you're buying 5-day or longer tickets the price increase won't be as drastic

Good Morning everyone!

Just back from a short vacation (just a long weekend) in Panama City Beach, Florida. The beach and Gulf were beautiful (no signs of oil). So if you are planning a Florida Beach vacation soon, don't cancel!! Everything is great there!

But being at the beach makes me really long for Castaway Cay!! Can't wait til next summer!

Saving us from page 3. It's been a crazy week or so here. The worst was Monday...my mom and son decided to do some weed work outside, cutting them down outside near the A/C unit. I noticed how hot it was getting, and sure enough...turns out they cut a line to the unit. 90 degrees in the upstairs(where we live...mom lives downstairs). UGH....luckily they were able to come out yesterday to fix it.

We "camped" out on the pull out couch and all I can say is...it was like sleeping on metal bars. Never again. LOL

Summer is almost over here in AL as well. On August 12 (my bday) school starts back again. No more sleeping in for me now.

Ugh, I feel for you!! 2 summers ago our A/C was hit by lightening (least that's what they said!) and we had no A/C upstairs for almost 2 weeks! The boys instantly brought down sleeping bags for the family room, By the end of the first week Steve and I moved the dining room table over and threw down the sleeper sofa matress on the floor! My house looked like a dorm!!! I didn't care who came over! LOL At least we could sleep!

Steve has off the next 4 days in a row! YAY! A rare thing and I am looking forward to it! Going to get a few things done around here and then we are going to go to Columbus, Oh for 2 days. The boys want to stay at www.fortrapids.com It's a hotel with a waterpark, but not nearly as expensive as Great Wolfe. We'll do that and of course, eat out and shop a bit!

Band has had me hopping this week. I have been providing the kids with dessert everyday. We've had chocolate chip cookie bars, brownies and today was a mini ice cream social...they LOVED that! Tomorrow is cupcakes...with music notes make of icing and M&Ms and I think Friday will be watermelons.

I am starting to get eager for people to get on the Dream so they can post stuff about it!! Are there Fish Extenders? or Starfish? or Seahorses? How are the rooms? Are they crowded since they are smaller? Is it noticable? Is Deck 4 just as peaceful? How are the pools? Is the Aquaduck as cool as it looks? And the food!! What's new? What's not to miss? Can I even get a souffle?? So many questions!!!!!

Well, gonna call it an early night tonight. A few of the band members, Colton included, are wanted to wake up the Reach Work Campers in the morning by banging drums and playing music in the hallways! LOL It was a request by the camp counselors! I think it's FUN!!!! I told Colton, even if no one else shows, we'll find the crash cymbals and have at it! LOL

I hear ya Michele! I can't wait for more info either!!!

My small sub-group got a little pixie dust this week. Half of the families had to be wait-listed for main dining when they booked. But now we're all (all 31 of us ) on main dining! AND one of the families wasn't able to book connecting cabins when they booked, so they had adjacent cabins. But this morning connecting cabins became available and they were able to switch!

Morale of the story: if you want to make changes to your reservation, but there's not availability right now, keep checking!

and I thought we were going to have a big group with 17 of us!! I can never remember is main dining the earlier or later seating? We are all on the later seating. I hope we won't be fighting you for seats or food! LOL I am happy that everyone in your party was able to get what they wanted!!!! That just means that the plans are coming together and it will be here before we know it!!!

Been up since 530 and it's been non-stop. Getting tired, keeping the ice tea flowing...might have to switch to coffee! LOL Need to go out this evening and get Connor a new pair of football cleats.

Main dining is at 5:45 and second dining is at 8:15, so we'll miss each other at dinner time. I like having second dining so you're not so rushed to get ready, but there are others in our group that need to dine earlier rather than later.

Hi! We are currently booked on the May 29 DD Dream, but are switching to the June 12 tomorrow. We are REALLY good friends with marcij and family, and can't wait to sail with everyone! Cast will be Me (Denise), DH (John), and our BBG triplets (Davis, Rees, and Brantley-Kate). They will turn 11 a few days after the cruise. My parents, Jim and Beth, are also cruising with us (their 1st DCL). We will be celebrating my mom's b'day and the trio's b'day. We should be on Deck 8 in connecting Cat 4B's. We'd love to participate in any activities and the FE exchange.
