Disney Dream - June 12, 2011

Hi everyone! We are one of those three families Rose mentioned. I'm Paige (just turned 42), and I am travelling with my DH, Rob (40), and my children, DD16 (18 at cruise time), DS14 (15 at cruise time), DS10 (11 at cruise time), and a guest of my DD (haven't decided who it will be yet) because we will be celebrating her graduation and my husband's retirement from the Marine Corps.

We are cajuns from Louisiana, but we currently live just south of DC. This is my DH's and my 4th DCL cruise and my kids' 3rd. We were with Rose and the Konked Kruisers of '07 and the BoBers of '09. What a great time we had! And we are looking forward to more fun with y'all.

Wow, I had not visited in a while and had a lot of catching up to to. Looks like I need to make a modification to our sailing details. In addition to my husband and I, our two daughters, and my parents, it looks like my grandparents will also be sailing with us as long as they health holds up . That mean 4 generations will get to experience the Disney Dream Yeah

I know that we will want to be included in the FE once that is all figured out and planned. I have never done the FE but am very excited. I will bow to the knowledge of all you experienced FE exchangers if we should split the ship up, it does sound very big and we will all want as much as time as possible to explore.

Hopefully my DSis, DBIL, and DN will be able to join us, they just weren't able to book today.

That's me! We finally put down our deposit. It will be me (Leilani), DH (Jessie), and DS (Leo who will be 3 when we sail). This will be our 2nd cruise. My dad (Vernon) is also booked in our room, but he has not yet committed to going with us. This will be his first cruise if he comes. We are in room 7072.

This cruise is already booking up. I asked for the first dinner seating and got waitlisted! But after thinking about it, second seating may not be so bad. We'd have to feed Leo early of course, but then we could leave him in the club while we eat. Child free dinners would be nice!

I haven't read the entire thread yet, but wanted to go ahead and mark my place. I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Finally, we were scared ya'll wouldn't make it the way the ship is filling up, and we're happy you manged to get on the same floor and side as us...only 12 doors down isn't too bad. And we moved out seating to 2nd so you can take your name off the waitlist.

I love all the ideas for the cruise name! I haven't been able to come up with anything better! Cruisin' to the Cay on the Double Dippin' Dream? I do like the 3D idea...that's cute! I like the Sailabration idea too! I have Kool and the Gang singing in my head whenever I think of it though! LOL I'll be happy with whatever logo/name we decide on!

It looks like we might be adding more people to our group! Still waiting on them to make the final decision!

Snow, snow and more snow. I am OVER this winter! We are in the midst of another "prolonged storm front" that has lasted for days....another to come on Tuesday and Wednesday. Then another storm is predicted for the middle of March! I am really longing for summer right now. The winters past have always been a dumping of snow, then it melts, then another storm a few weeks later. It's never been these days of snow and wind. We've lived in this area for 13 years and this has been the snowiest winter by far!

I hope this finds everyone happy and healthy!!

Ditto on the snow....we have two foot drifts outside our back door. Why can't I convince my husband to move me south of the Mason Dixon line. Is that asking too much?!?!?!? I don't belong in Pennsylvania!!!!!

I swear I'm not too grumpy today. Just wish I was one of those people that looked outside my windows and saw beauty. I just see a bunch of white nastiness.

Been holding off for awhile to see if I could afford it and if the boyfriend and son would give me a hard time about it.
But it's a go!

This will be my 5th Disney cruise
My son's 3rd.
And my boyfriend's 2nd.

We just did the B.O.B.(Bash on the Boat) cruise last in October 2009 with friends from our KK (Konked Kruisers) cruise in October of 2007.
And so far there are 3 other families besides our that are traveling again with us from the last cruise.

I see they haven't been on here yet.
I'll get them over here soon

So I'm Rose, 45 from NY.
Boyfriend is Bob 43
Son is Sean now 19 but will be 20 cruise time..... sadly just short of the drinking age by 2 months! Not that it should be so important.

Sean and Bob are not related.
We're a mixed bag

Just checking in quickly. I am not a teacher but I did like the Class-less idea because I know my kids would really love that one. I also really liked the 3-D idea with Dream Douple Dip. It sounds like we have a creative group.

I also just have to laugh a little at all the math references (Castaway Cay Squared ). It is nice to be in a group with fellow math geeks - my last group was a bit math phobic. I have my degree in math and originally thought about teaching but ended up in IT instead. I was a programmer/analyst for many years but now I do DBA work. Fun, fun.....

According to my countdown we have 470 days left. Of course we hope to spend some time before the cruise at WDW so maybe 7-8 days less until we are on vacation.

Hello Fellow Cruisers!!!

Woke to 6" of snow yesterday and another inch or so this morning. If I could make it stop, I WOULD! LOL

We need to add 2 more to our list! Linda Collins and Carolyn Collins. Linda is my MIL's sister and Carolyn is their SIL. They booked a Cat 6a, GTY. I am hoping they can get on deck 7 since the other 3 rooms we have booked are on that floor as well. When I call DCL later to link the ressies together, I'm going to ask if that can be noted on their ressie. They made the ressie through Dreams. I wonder if she should just call and ask that it be marked on her ressie with them? I've never reserved as a GTY so I don't know all the loop holes and tricks. I guess we'll be that HUGE table with 12 people in the middle of the dining room. Be sure to stop and say hello!!! LOL I might have to think about adding extra tip money to our bill....that's a lot of people for one table.

Well, we have a birthday party to attend in a little while. Need to get my shower yet....been slugging it today.

So thinking about a way that our double dip is different than others (well a lot of other ones anyway!)...this might be a stretch but.....

It will be the last weekend of Star Wars Weekends at DHS when we embark on the 12th. We went last year and it was more than awesome! I thought a cool theme would be "C2D2" meaning "Castaway Cay Double Dip", playing off of R2D2 from Star Wars. We could come up with some sort of graphic of R2D2 in a grass skirt and coconut bra or something.

Hooray for math! I really like the 3-D idea too!
