Disney Dream Inaugural Cruise 1/26/2011!

Morning gang! Glad we will be cruising with so many old DIS friends and looking forward to making lots of new ones too!

We added the cruise after the MV to do the back to back and seems like alot of others are too

Slight irritation with DCL and hoping they 1) fix it and 2) hasn't happened to anyone else

We booked the Maiden Voyage, confirmed, paid deposit, everything good online, confirmation paper came in mail. Called yday to book the second cruise and asked to be placed in same staterooms if available. Those staterooms are available for second cruise, BUT, our staterooms for the Maiden Voyage have been changed! Still same category but different room assignments, different deck and not connecting. Not happy that DCL switched us without telling and supposedly a supervisor is calling us back at 11:25 a.m. today to give us the scoop (yes, 11:25 a.m.). They offered us different connecting rooms on a lower deck, higher category, more money and not available for the back to back. At this point I'm not willing to do that and since I have the room confirmation in writing would like my original rooms as booked and deposited.

Regardless, even if it's closets we will be on the first two sailings

Yes we will definitely have to have a GSF inaugural Disney Dream Mtg.... Maybe with a special card and Limited edition certificate.....

DW and I prefer deck 5 on our past cruises we like to be close to the water and hear it running by late at night from the veranda. on the other ships there are few cabins on 5 so less "traffic". Deb tells me that if we hit the lottery I have to rent 5122 on the Magic for at least a year.

Oooh I love that idea, John!!! I'm going to have to try that myself sometime. Maybe if you and Deb just move your luggage a little bit, I can squeeze onto that sofa bed...

Didn't I see someone offer to coordinate FE exchange? Of course maybe we better find out if there are even Fish to Extend!!! DCL might have something new up their sleeve for the Dream and then what would we do????

someone mentioned the fact that alot of us have cruised before, YES, but it is a very friendly group of people, meeting new people is probably the best thing of all this!
alot of the people on this cruise do all DCL's First Cruises (most of them ) on whatever the ship may be!

Oh the memories........pajama parties, sleepouts, pin collecting, fish extenders, lifelong friends met, Jimmy Buffet singalongs, etc., etc.

We are in a lull wek so just 8 or 9 hours a day! but give it 2 weeks and we will be back doing crazy hours!

I wouldn't mind offering our room (cat 5A) for a tour, but we would like to see other rooms also. They are not selling concierge rooms yet--we are on the list, but I think it will be too expensive.

Checking in - everyone have a great weekend. I recieved the deposit confirmation today Another milestone.....Full payment is due a month ago in one year....how excited will I be then?

The last time we did it we set up a specific time and date for the tour. Then (my recollection) is we had a map and started at the first one and then kept moving on to each one on the list. It was pretty funny because there was a long line of cruisers going down each hallway and going into specific rooms. The cast members were great at "staying out of our way" and making sure the rooms were clean for the day. I believe each person just let their cast member know that people were coming to see their stateroom that day and the time.

If I do it that way, then the hosts/hostesses could be at the first of the group so they could unlock their stateroom when we got to them on the list and then join the back of the group after they kick everyone out so they don't miss the other ones.

I think that will work best, because I want to see all the rooms too!

Crossing my fingers you can get a concierge level room!

I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of each other in the hallways and at the elevator. We sailed on the May 08 WBPC Repo with you. It'll be great to do another.
