Happy Thanksgiving everyone - even you all "across the pond"!

Don't forget to count your blessings! (including a certain cruise in a little over a year ;-)

Blessings - Lin & Andy

Quick question if I can ... with the FE list, does it get split up as I'm not sure I can afford to buy things for everyone!!

Do you pack people into groups of 10 or so? 10 would be great for me by the way as I already have 9 fab things to put in the FE (amongst other things of course, but these 9 are great). :woohoo: I know it's early but I happened to spot them so will put them away for a year!

I've only ever done one FE before and we only had 7 in the whole group, so no problem with numbers. I have a feeling that this one is going to be a little madder! :scared1:

Thanks

Good morning everyone! Another closer to the cruise!!!

bats - my past FE experience has been that everyone just does what they can - no pressure to participate and/or how much you participate. Maybe someone else will jump in with more info.

Ken P.

It seems to be something that varies from cruise to cruise. We were on the Podcast cruise (with 80 FE cabins!) and we delivered a little something to all 80, but also joined a group that pooled money and got something a little better for each cabin- and only had to deliver part of them. Our other cruises have had smaller FE groups and it hasn't really been an issue.

The next Podcast cruise (Dec 2010) already has people grouping up since there's so many of us! :dance3:

This is just our expierience though. I'm sure there's plenty more and different ones out there!;)

Good Evening Cruisers!

No shopping here! I worked for 5 hours this morning, then we worked on the outside Christmas lights - it was 63 degrees here today and is supposed to be 35 tomorrow, so I was hoping to get all the outside stuff done while it was still warm. It is almost done, so we won't have to freeze outside for too long tomorrow.

When there is a large group for FE gifts, we tend to do something small and inexpensive - like making "collectable" bookmarks for the cruise.

Have a great weekend.

Hello cruisers,

Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving. No shopping for me. I hate fighting with crowds. I'll start next week.

Last night, our high school football team lost in the state semi-finals 17-21. It was sad. They are in the playoffs every year(won the state title a few times), but this is the farthest they went while we had kids at the school. My youngest is a senior. He plays the trumpet in the marching band. Jim and I are also alumni there.

I'm thinking I might switch back to late dining. Jim doesn't think he wants to try the early.

I guess I will start with the Christmas decorations today. It seems like the season is coming too quickly.

Enjoy the weekend...

Judy

Just finished hanging the holiday lights, so fun to hang them without snow and mittens:cool1:. Seems many of you are doing the same thing. Moving on to the inside decorating.

I'm busy making several pounds of peanut brittle today. What's everyone else doing?

ohhhhh peanut brittle!!!!!!!

We spent the day putting together 2 desks, 4 wall units and a media cabinet for our newly-rebuilt-after-the-flood basement family room!!!!! Our sofa and TV wall unit cabinet are being delivered on Wednesday!!!! I can't wait!!!

Tomorrow we'll we making the storage cabinets for our pantry.....

I doubt we will be decorating for Christmas this year....we had no idea our renovations from our flood would take this long (flood was July 26) and all our Christmas stuff is packed in boxes WAY in the back of our dining room that is currently our storage room.

Fish Extender Gifts - This is a fun "game" that was started with the Westbound Panama Canal cruise 2005. For those who want to give gifts, please use the roster for names and locations of people. Participation is voluntary and you are not required to give anything to get anything !!

We would like everybody to get something, weather you can give to everyone is another story, but some people can and some people cant That is ok!

But there are people who would like to see everybody get a little something..

Do not want to exclude anyone !

That is the original intent of the FE.

Not to split off into some group just cause you have one!

Do what you can with what you have!

Please Do not worry, Be happy!!!

It is ALL GOOD, what ever you do!
If you can only do half, that is ok!
No one is going to Freak out!

IT IS FUN PEOPLE, we did it this way on the original FE cruise the May 2005 Panama Canal crossing..
Trust me, it just works!

Hope this helps.

Forgot to mention that sometimes, several cabins will team up, to make the cost better for them!

Such is the case, with the Lanyard group.

As the cost for that project can be overwhelming!
but when split with many it is affordable.

Couple other things we picked up on the Wonder this weekend... The Dream will arrive in Florida, @ the port January 4, 2011

Cpt. Henry, will Go to the Dream..

Good evening Dreamers! :wizard:

Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday weekend! Very busy for us... Turkey Day, Black Friday shopping, visit to Santa's Christmas Tree forest, outside decorating done.. inside, not so much yet... Tree up with lights on... now to find the ornaments..,,

Only disappointing thing this weekend is the Steelers loss to Baltimore just minutes ago!. :scared1:

That's a great help thanks. I shall buy what I can and find the extenders with the least in them (that could be a long walk)!!!

I asked Ken if I could help (moneywise) with the lanyard group, so I'll wait to hear about that for sure. :)

Good morning all. I wish I lived in FL so I could see the Dream in early January of 2011!

Peter - hope you had a great trip!

I spent all day yesterday in the car getting Staci (DD) back to school. 11 hours - not fun.

Cpt. Henry, will Go to the Dream..

Sure, tell everyone before I can! :rotfl:

But what Peter didn't say was on Friday the Wonder was on a Sea Day (Unusual because the Wonder generally does the 4 night the first of the week, not the last part).

Anyway, we got on the ship Wednesday, had my first ever inside sailaway party in the atrium because it was pouring rain at 4 p.m. Then on Thursday we were in Nassau, the on Friday an unusual Sea Day! So...........

Unfortunately for the Magic on Friday, they were unable to port into Castaway Cay in the morning because the wind was so bad. Peter/Jenn and Jamie/me were talking to Captain Henry in the Castaway Club Party at around 11 a.m. when he said we would be sailing next to the Magic in just a few minutes!

We all jetted out of the CC party and headed up to Deck 10 and sure enough, here she came. She was just absolutely beautiful and was so close to the Wonder it was amazing. The two ships kept playing the horns back and forth! We did this for about 1 1/2 hours. The cast members were all coming out on deck to get pictures too because this is something that just does not happen.

It was a highlight of the trip. Got beautiful pictures. Will have to download them tonight and post tomorrow.

Can't wait to see the Dream come into port and to get pictures!
