Looking to book the March 10th Marvel Day at Sea 5 night Bahamas cruise on the Dream.

We are interested in trying concierge out for the first time as the premium seems to be a tad bit less than what we typically use.

I noticed that for a family oceanview verandah, the only thing available are ‘guaranteed’ concierge staterooms. Am I correct to assume then, that all the existing concierge rooms on 11 and 12 are booked up, and these are going to be the newly expanded concierge rooms on deck 10? If so, makes the decision a bit more difficult for me as a) these rooms are farther than we’d like from the concierge lounge and b) uncertainty around how many concierge rooms they are actually adding as we are hoping to have success in booking a cabana at CC

Not a lot out there on the internet as I believe the news has been fairly recent, and it may not be clear until after the Dream finishes her drydock this fall.

Thanks!

Yes, it's my understanding the "guarantee" concierge offering on the Dream are the newly converted staterooms (starting sometime mid-October). So yes you'd likely be on deck 10. But it's also possible DCL has included some of the existing concierge cabins from decks 11/12 in the "guarantee" offering.

I'm not sure that even now on the Dream one can be assured a CC cabana by booking concierge. There are already more concierge staterooms than cabanas; the expansion will only create more vying for that option.

Thank you - yes agreed on cabanas

My hope is that with Lookout Cay being part of this itinerary, that the concierge cabana bookings are ‘split’ between the two ports and that increases our chances at at least one of them, although CC would be preferred

As lanejudy mentioned, I just would not be terribly confident of being able to book a cabana while sailing concierge on any of the ships that have a lot of concierge staterooms (we had zero luck on the Wish). Personally, if you are being offered a nice discount with GTY, I would snag it. Sailing concierge offers so many perks above and beyond priority cabana booking. The CMs are so incredibly helpful in booking dining, excursions, spa appointments and the priority embark and disembarkation is a real plus for us. I may need to check out this GTY offering!

How many staterooms are they converting to CL on the Dream? Is Disney starting g to have too many GTY regular staterooms they discount and this is why they are being converted? Or is there the demand for more CL?

That's the unknown right now, the number they are converting. All we know is that they will be in the current midship block of Cat 4A's on Deck 10

My assumption is that they are seeing success in booking the increased number of concierge rooms on the Wish. Only problem is the concierge spaces (eg lounge) were not built with this in mind, with very little opportunity to expand.

As much as I hate to do this, I might just book the 4-night on the Fantasy (also going to Lookout Cay and Castaway Cay, skips Nassau vs the Dream) just to ensure I get the 'original' concierge rooms on 11/12, and give myself a better (relatively speaking) shot at cabanas at either of those ports.

Going from a 5 night to a 4 night cruise pains me however....since Fantasy is out of Port Canaveral I may just pair it with a WDW trip, but that doesn't sound relaxing at all lol

I did exactly this. I moved to a 4 night fantasy Castaway/Lookout Cay from the 5 night Dream. My main reason for booking the Concierge room is for a Cabana. I don't understand, if they are expanding the concierge rooms, why they didn't put more cabanas at Lookout Cay.

What I am reading between the lines and my response: don’t do it.

First time DCL Concierge after possibly cruising on other lines’ upper tier?

You may be surprised by the lack of a private dining room or pool area. Or a butler. Overall, just not the same.

Unless you can accept that the savings of a GTY offsets enough of the mystery cabin (and location relative to Lounge) and a fairly possible inability to book a Cabana (or it is not your ideal one), reconsider what you are contemplating.
