It's been super quiet on this thread. Honestly, in all the threads for cruises that I have been on over the years, this has been the most quiet.
Pretty crazy. I guess folks are just super busy with the summer and now with school starting.
:laundy:

A chef's life is never predictable. That's my story and I'm sticking to it lol

Please keep it a surprise. It seems that the older I get the fewer the surprises. Except for the bad ones of course. :) Leaky pipes, stopped drains and tire flat are surprises that I can do without.
I've finished my FE gifts. I wanted to get them done before the rush of the seasons is upon us. I wish I had your help purfectlyweird, I'm doing a Grinch Christmas Brunch this year instead of the big family dinner in the evening. I'm wroking on how to make waffles and eggs benedict and keep them all at the perfect temp for serving. I think it may be tougher than the big meal planning that I was hoping to avoid.

I'm not a chef but cook quite a bit. To save some headache you might consider baked eggs in ham cups instead of eggs Benedict. You can make them in a muffin pan, serve hollandaise on the side and no fuss with poaching that many eggs. I'll give you my recipe if you can't find one online.

Yes, yes, yes! Do you know how many poached eggs get lost to make just one? Then everybody wants them temped differently uggh! But here's what you do. You can cook a large batch at a time you just have to put them in ice cold water immediately after cooking them. They can be stored this way for up to five days in advance. When you're ready to cook them just slowly dip them into hot tap water for a minute or 2 then voila you have perfectly cooked ready to eat poached eggs.

Hi everyone! Hopefully I'm not being a huge newbie here. I encountered this forum because I was actually trying to find a neat way to connect with other families/new parents on the cruise. I'm sailing on 12/7 -- first time cruise for both me and baby! If I understand correctly, we get one of those fish extenders and get a gift for someone as a surprise right? Trying to find the correct instructions...can someone help me here on a central link for that (e.g. when to deliver the gift, how big, etc.) :) thanks. also who do i send my room/fam info to?! Sorry for being a huge newbie again!

OH no. Doing more scouring through this thread. Looks like a final list was made :( Is it too late?

:welcome:. You are definitely at the right place. You can do a google search or go to etsy.com to purchase a handmade fish extender but any kind of bag with a sturdy handle will do. Below is a picture of the one I bought b/c it'a nice keepsake and it can be used again and again. As you can see the handles go around the little fish hence the term fish extender. I've signed you up for the 2nd group which only consists of 3 cabins including yours and i'll be posting the list after the PIF date 9/23. As far as the gifts you can do as little or as much as you like. Since your list is small you might be able to spend a bit more on your gifts but you don't have to. If you are trying to give out gifts that include things for pirate night it's best to deliver them by the afternoon time on 9/9(castaway day). If they don't include things for it then you can deliver your gifts anytime it's convenient to you. If you get to the port and you happen to change your room I'll have a dry erase board set up to note any changes that might occur. I hope I've answered everything so far.

YOU ARE AWESOME! Saw you are a chef so definitely thanks for spending the time on explaining it.
Thank you!! Hope we get more people on the 2nd list.

I do my best lol. Sometimes having a huge list isn't that great, especially if you're flying down. Packing can become intense.

Did anyone book any onboard activities? We hit our 90 day mark last week and as a silversilver castaway member (today, will be gold by the time that cruise rolls around) we could book spa treatments and dining earlier this week.

We booked the "Couples Choice" spa treatment, which sounds heavenly! And then I booked Remy for dinner on Pirate night and the Remmy champagne brunch on our sea day. Anyone else book anything fun or plan to?

Unfortunately all the things that I want to do I have to book on the ship. I don't care what my friends say I want that princess meet & greet! I want to make a gingerbread house and I want at least one mixology class.

I did an Anna & Elsa meet and greet on my last cruise, it was great fun! I would totally do a gingerbread house as well!

We should find out if we have sufficient interest in forming a private mixology class here. I think you need 15 minimum. I would be happy to contact Disney to see if we could do that. We have done it on all my other cruises.

Donald and I would be interested in doing a group Mixology class if there is enough interest. We have never done one and they do look like fun.

Ooooo I hadn't thought about that but it does sound like fun. Add me, the other 2 people in my stateroom and @Minniemoomoo that's already half way there.

So it looks like there are several interested in a mixology class. Are you still interested in contacting DCL to see what is required and how much it is. Maybe we could get a list started of those that are interested. Thank you for doing that.
