Thank You Tina I will post pictures by monday the latest .:wizard:

Emailed my TA asking when we could expect to see our cruise documents and also told him that we were booking next Christmas when we got on the ship and if we needed anything to ensure he got credit for the booking...nothing heard back at all. I guess we'll be looking for a new TA after this trip. At least give me a courtesy email back. We called the Disney Cruise Line and they said we should get them between 2-3 weeks out. At least it's an answer. Still can't wait to get going. We also decided to take advantage of a special at the Shades of Green at WDW and will go there on Friday before. We want to drive to Port Canaveral on Saturday to watch the Magic go out. Anybody know where the best spots are to park and watch it go?
thats a nice idea we are staying at port fri and sat ? maybe we can say Hi ?:wizard:

Hello everyone! We are in NY! We are looking forward to the meet today. I do not have a cell phone yet so I hope someone will notice us. Emmanuela will be wearing a teddy bear backpack and I will be wearing a small green backpack with a LGMH hanging on it. I hope someone comes up to us! See some of you today and the rest of you in less than 30 days!

We always notice all of the people out by what look like restaurants waving to us and everything, so we thought it would be something different if we were able to find a good spot and see it from the other side. It looks like there's a restaurant and retail area just down the jetty from the DCL called the Cove. I'll have to check it out and see if it's difficult to get in there and, most importantly, park.

A quick look at Google Maps shows three places that might work for viewing boats into and out of the Port...

Rusty's Seafood and Oyster Bar
Fishlips Waterfront Bar & Grill
Grills Seafood Deck & Tiki Bar

on Glen Cheek Drive, Cocoa Beach

I can tell you that I've been to Fishlips twice, very yummy! Great view:)

since i've not been able to keep up with the thread very well, i'm wondering if a meet has been set up? sorry to not be active on the thread, but life is getting the better of us!! hoping to be able to chime in a bit more as we get closer.
enjoy your weekend!!

Hey Shannon! I hope things are going well for you guys! If they do sell the Yankee Mickey, I can pick it up one day after work... its not that far out of my way.

Here is an older post about meets:

So if I have this right... here are the tentative DIS meet plans:

July 30 - 11AM - NYC Mini Meet - Disney Store in Times Square followed by lunch at Hard Rock Cafe (lunch venue is tentative)

August 27 - 8PM - Pre-Cruise Meet w Yehaa Bob - River Roost Lounge, Port Orleans Riverside (first set starts @ 8:30PM)

August 29 - First on cruise meet - after Life Boat Drill and Before Sail Away Party (approx 4:15pm). Need to find a specific spot on deck 11 (or 12) to meet.

August 30 (Castaway Cay Day / Pirate Night) - Group Picture. Place and time - TBD (or should we do this on Nassau Day)... I think we should wait the extra day to work out the logistics and be able to communicate them to each other.

August 31 (sea day) - Mickey Bar Eating Contest? Place and time - TBD

Ongoing thruout the cruise:
Fish Extender (LINK)

Official Scribe Board - Disney67's room - 2026

By no means should everyone feel like they need to attend all these meets. This is, afterall, everyone's vacations... and people should feel free to veg out and not follow a schedule if they so desire.

Also... not sure if many of you listen to the DIS Unplugged Podcast - where the folks that own these boards (and run Dreams Unlimited Travel) have an entertaining Disney Podcast (if you dont listen... you should... its very entertaining). The folks running the podcast are encouraging listeners to make $10 donations to Give Kids the World, which is a Orlando area not for profit organization that helps send children who are quite ill to vacation with their families to Disney World. They hope to ultimately raise $1 million for this cause. There was a recent podcast where someone suggested that Disboards cruise meets (like ours) encourage members to contribute $10 towards this cause. Personally I think its a wonderful idea. Here is more information on the cause. Now I will get off the soap box.

I think there may have been other meets discussed that are not on this list (like one @ Cocoa Beach). But others will need to fill in the gaps... cause I have not been following these boards that religiously either (as its my busy time of year at work).
