Disney Dream - April 3, 2011 - 4 nights

Just booked. My wife and I are going on our 10yr anniversary cruise on the dream in Feb '11, but were feeling guilty about not taking the kids, we looked into bringing them along, but I thought I would see if spring break prices were reasonable. I thought the price was right, so I pulled the trigger.

My boys will be age 7 and 5 for this cruise and I cannot wait.

Hope the virtual porthole works well as I convinced my wife for the 4 day in a inside stateroom over the three day with a porthole.

:dance3: Welcome Aboard! :dance3:

As from my previous post...we are inside cabin cruisers. We have done an oceanview once...but that was just by luck! We like the inside cabins...mainly because we don't really spend that much time in the cabin...so it is adequate for our family to sleep and get dressed in. :goodvibes We are also looking forward to the virtual porthole...that should really be neat!

As far as pricing for this cruise...I think that it is great! We have done both the 3 and 4 night DCL cruises...and this price compares with those prices (And those prices were great deals!)

I think that it is great that you are going to take the kids on this cruise! I, too, would feel guilty about cruising without my kids. So this should make them feel really special! ;)

As I asked the previous poster...have you cruised before...if so...which cruiselines? Right now my family is really into cruising...I like it because it is a total vacation...for everyone...including me!

Again, welcome to our sailing! pirate:

This will be cruise number 5 for my wife and I and number 3 for the boys.

All on the Wonder besides the Feb Dream for my wife and I.

:thumbsup2 Awesome! We sailed on the Magic once...and the Wonder 3 times. We really liked the crew better on the Wonder...although I have heard varying opinions on that topic...:confused3 We also just cruised with Royal Caribbean this past December...it was excellent! So many choices now! :goodvibes

I hope everyone is doing well! :cutie:

Just booked this cruise today. This will be our second cruise (unless we break down and take another between now and next April!). When it gets closer to the time, I'm happy to help track the people who want to participate in the Fish Extender exchange.

Only a little over a year to go!

We have never taken a cruise before. We have been to WDW for our daughter's 5th & 9th birthday and always stay at the Polynesian (that was my dream when I went there when I was little!). We've never been south of WDW and are looking forward to the trip!

pirate: Welcome to our crew kikids! pirate: I can tell that you have the DCL bug! :wizard: My family has it too! We are fairly new to cruising...first one was in 2008...and now we are planning most of our vacations around cruising! :thumbsup2

I think that it would be great for kikids to organize the FE exchange! You get my vote! :goodvibes

Also wanted to say to 3luv2travel: You all are going to love cruising with Disney! And getting to see the Bahamas and Castaway Cay! I am so excited for you all! :cheer2:

Hi Everyone! ::MinnieMo

We just made plans to go to Disney World for Spring Break! We have decided to stay at Pop Century (and hopefully get a refurbished room) and to do some off-site stuff. The parks are way too crazy at Spring Break (ours is the week after Easter.) So we are going to Sea World, Aquatica and Busch Gardens - Tampa. We are passholders to Busch Gardens here in VA...so we get in free to all the other parks. Soooooo... this isn't quite a Disney trip, but we are staying at Disney and going to downtown Disney...just not going to the parks. :goodvibes

Hopefully the weather will warm up and be sunny. Last Spring Break, Orlando hit record lows and we had to buy sweatshirts! :scared1:

I hope that everyone is doing well!

We just booked our first Disney Cruise! :cool1: It will be me, DH, DS8, & DS5.

DH & I have sailed Carnival 2 times but this will be the first one for the boys so I am sticking to the 4 days to start with & we'll move up from there once I know how they handle things. We'll probably hit the parks before the cruise to get us in the spirit of things!

The fish extenders sound like fun so we'll probably join in on that! Can't wait to go cruising with all of you--we're almost to the 1 year mark! :yay:

Wow! Our DISlist is getting longer! :cheer2: Kanga+2Roos - Your boys are going to love cruising with Mickey Mouse! There is so much to do and see on a Disney cruise - you all are in for a great time! (IMO)

I think that my ticker now says 1 year, 1 week and 2 days to go! :goodvibes It's getting closer!

Thanks for the warm welcome Crystal! :flower3: I am so excited about this-it seems so far away right now but we'll be sailing before you know it! :sail:

All of the inside cabins are now sold out on our cruise--things are getting filled up. Looks like this will be a popular week!

My boys love to watch Suite Life on Deck so their exposure to cruiselife is pretty much based on that show. We should be getting the DVD in the mail anytime now so I can't wait to watch it with them--they'll be amazed!

Hope everyone is doing well!

I just found this thread. I've been reading it this morning and it sounds like a fun, well informed group. We just took our first cruise last month on the Wonder, 2/11/10. It was so much fun that DH wanted to book while onboard for our next cruise and this on falls during Masters Week/Spring Break where I live. Perfect. I'm still trying to figure out where to go to post my counter but I'll keep reading. Can't wait to get to next Saturday - 1 year to go!

The idea of the FE sounds really fun. I can't wait to read more about it.

:wave2: Welcome Kanga2Roos and WhoDat!

When the one year mark gets here I'll start collecting fish extender names. It's going to be a great cruise! I have no doubt it will fill up fast as that is spring break week for a lot of midwest schools, and it sounds like others as well. This board will be hopping!!!

Any other Michiganders out there yet?

DisneyOnADime, are you back from your spring break trip yet?

Yup--we're Michiganders too! Go Blue! :cheer2: Of course I'll be pulling for MSU as they go into the final 4-gotta cheer for anything that comes from this state! We are in Mid-MI & VERY thankful for the 70's coming up this week! I just love spring! We'll have to put out a little more effort this year with the Easter Egg hunt--no throwing them out into the backyard & letting the snow cover them up to hide them! :lmao:

Welcome aboard Whodat! Glad to hear that you had a great cruise experience! Is it you & DH traveling or do you have munchkins too?

Our list is growing! So looking forward to getting to know everyone over the next year & sharing our excitement. Everyone thinks I'm crazy that I'm already making plans for next year's springbreak--I'm glad all of you are just as into it as I am! :upsidedow

Welcome to our Crew! pirate:

I wanted to help you out with your countdown clock. Here are a few websites were you can create your ticker and then copy it over to your signature.

www.***********************
www.ucruiser.com
www.**************
www.cruiseclocks.com

Once you have created the ticker...copy the one that says (URL) into your signature. You can find your signature page by clicking the "Quick Links" tab at the top of each page. I know that I may not be describing this correctly...ask me a question if you get hung-up on something.

Again, welcome to this board and to the DISboards! The folks on these boards have a wealth of information and knowledge about anything Disney!

Hello Everyone! :wave2:

No, we haven't gone for Spring Break yet. We leave this Friday for Pop Century! :cheer2: We can't wait...we need a break...only problem now is that our minivan is acting up! I love my minivan and the kids travel so well in it. So we might have to take my husband's mustang! :scared1: While his car is very nice and fast...none of us wants to spend 11 hours riding in it! So we definitely need a little pixie dust thrown our way in order to figure this one out! :upsidedow

Yep, we are quickly approaching our 1 year mark!!! :woohoo: Let the planning begin!!! And no we aren't crazy...just very well organized, efficient and well-versed on DCL cruising! :surfweb:

princess: Crystal

Have a wonderful time at Disney Crystal! At least the weather finally broke in Florida & it should be gorgeous down there! :thumbsup2 Here's some pixiedust pixiedust: to get your van in working order for the trip--yes, 11 hours in a Mustang would drive my kids crazy! IMO a Mustang is the ultimate car (& one I hope to own someday) but not when it comes to a road trip!

Have a safe, relaxing trip! :drive:

Crystal

Thanks so much for the help with my countdown clock. I have to admit I was getting a little frustrated.

DCL on Facebook posted a link today about Animator's Palate on the Dream. It sounds great!

Nancy

Kanga+2Roos - Thanks for the pixie dust! I read your message yesterday...in the midst of my husband attempting to figure out the van's problem. I didn't want to respond immediately...thinking that I might jinx that pixie dust! But for some reason...my husband fixed the problem...and we are good to go for our drive down to the world! :tinker: Tink has a way of making things all better! :goodvibes

Nancy - Your countdown clock looks great! I love it even more that it is getting closer to the 1 year mark!!! :thumbsup2 Yes, and all the new information about the Dream sounds amazing! I can't wait to eat with Crush, and do the new scavenger hunts and see all the new technological aspects of this ship. It's going to be an adventure just touring and being on the ship. pirate:

:laundy: OK...so now back to reality and laundry and packing for Friday!
