Hey there.

I'm on this sailing too.

There's just me (Jane) and DH (Heath).

We sailed on the Magic for the first time this year (2009) and really got the bug. We're doing the Med on the Magic in 2010 and back to backs on the Dream (April 3rd and April 7th sailings) in 2011.

I'll be celebrating my 33rd birthday on the sea day on this cruise so really looking forward to it. I've always wanted to be at a Disney park on my birthday so this comes pretty close (DH has done it before so its only fair for me to aswell).

I'm a fair old Disney nut and DH was adopted into the faith when he met me - very little persuasion required. :lmao:

As we're in the UK we don't get to WDW and DL as often as i like but we are AP holders for DL Paris and I am also a DL Paris shareholder.

Hopefully there'll be plenty of DISers on board. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

We're in room 10545 and are on late dining.

Hi Jane! It's so good to meet you! :yay: It's interesting that you all are doing the back to back...we were thinking of doing that also...however...my crew decided to go to Disney for those remaining days...so we will only be on this part...:sad2:

::MickeyMo Looks like Mickey is a huge part of your lives! We love him too, but our experiences have mostly been with WDW and DCL. We try to get to Disney several times a year and have most recently been cruising with the mouse. We have done the 3, 4, and 7 nighters on DCL. Cruising is the ultimate vacation...IMO! ;)

Well I look forward to chatting with you and seeing who signs on next! We only have 1 year, 4 months and some odds days to plan and prepare! :upsidedow

BTW...we are in cabin 7071 (inside with the virtual porthole) and main dining.

We've not decided yet whether we'll go to WDW aswell.

Kind of depends on what other vacation things we decide to do in 2011, and seeing as i haven't sorted out 2010 yet (other than the Med DCL cruise) - i think it'll be a while yet til we decide if WDW is on the menu. Though i suspect we'll take 2 weeks off work and have a few days at WDW - seeing as we'll be nearby (and Pt Canaverel is nearby in comparison to England - :rotfl2:).

Can't believe i'm actually planning a vacation this far in advance and for a ship that's not even built yet.

:dance3: Yes, I know what you mean about planning for 2011, however; not having total plans for 2010 yet! :dance3: I did notice that there are already 15 boards started for the Dream sailings...so I guess we are not alone! :dance3:

It's official...... we're booked on our first ever cruise on the Dream B2B 4/3/11 and 4/7/11.
I'm soooooo excited, I don't know how I'm going to keep this a secret from my DH, DS and DD!!!!:banana:
Now I need to figure out how to get one of those countdown tickers????

:welcome: Welcome aboard the Disney Dream DayDreamBeliever! :welcome: And welcome to the DISboards! :welcome:

You are in for the time of your life with Disney cruising! We are totally hooked! pirate: So get ready for a year and several months of planning and preparation...it's going to be a blast! :thumbsup2

As far as the countdown ticker...the way that I usually do it is to find someone else's ticker that I like...click on it or go to that website listed...and begin to make your own. After you finish, copy the link that is made for discussion boards over to your signature here on the boards. Have fun!

Thank You Crystal! I can't believe I have to wait sooo long and I'm going to try to keep it a secret! Ugh, what have I done!! ;)
I copied the url into my signature, lets see if it works! :confused3

Hey - it looks great! :thumbsup2 Now as far as the keeping it a secret...popcorn:: we have only done that one time and it was with a Disney trip. It was not easy, but it worked out fine. Just hang out here on the DIS...get some planning ideas...like door magnets and FE stuff...the time goes by pretty fast. However...I really haven't planned one out this far...so I am not so sure how I would keep my mouth shut that long! :upsidedow I get too excited about the planning part...I end up with stuff spread out all over the house...buying stuff...making stuff...I have done most everything in planning preparation that is listed here on the DIS either for a Disney vacation or for a cruise...I am not an expert by any-means...but I have spent many hours preparing for Disney. Like my kids tell their teachers...my mom plans vacations for a living...oh, and she cleans the house! :rotfl:

princess: Crystal

Thanks! I was determined to get the counter going today:cool1:
AND, I already told my DH, I knew that wouldn't work, (but in my daydream I can keep secrets from him:lovestruc)! He's sooo excited about the Aqua Duck, but isn't everyone :thumbsup2
We will keep this secret from the kiddos tho! That's for sure!:cool1:
Hanging here will help out, I've got some schooling to do! What's an Fe? Say What? How do I make door Mags? Ugg! oh, those are shoes, I know that!:rotfl2:
Looking forward to sooo much!
Muchas Gracias,
DayDreamBeliever:goodvibes

Fantatstic - welcome DDB (sorry i tend to abbreviate peoples nicknames for typing purposes).

We're doing the same Back to Back cruises - April 3rd and 7th.

Glad to see there'll be another DISer on that transition day.

There's an April 7th thread too which was mentioned further up and only started today/yesterday...

Boy it is really, really early to be thinking about these items for a 2011 cruise...but I will explain (not that I am starting anything right now - my husband will think that I have lost my mind!) :goodvibes

FE - Fish Extender - on the Wonder and the Magic there is a fish that hangs outside of each cabin...it is for notes and such from the crew. Many here on the DIS create or buy a bag, tote, stocking, organizer, etc...to hang from this fish. Before the cruise people sign up for the FE exchange on their respected sailing date board. The exchange part is kind of like a reverse trick or treat. I have participated in two FE exchanges...it is a lot of fun! Prior to cruising each participant gathers items to be handed out...like magnets, highlighters, beach balls, rum, candy, etc... To make things easy a list is created that has each participant listed, cabin number, kids, ages and such... No one knows yet what will be outside of each Dream cabin...so we will be waiting for those on the Maiden Voyage to fill in the FE details. You can find out tons of information on this on the regular cruise boards. Here is a picture...

The second item asked about is magnets...as you can see we love to create magnets for the stateroom door! There is a great thread on the regular cruise boards for making cruise images. Another place to look for great images is on the DISigns board. All of the people on these boards are very willing to make DISigns for you...just ask. Again...tons of info. can be found about magnets on the cruise boards.

Again...more items to help fill the time until cruising! :thumbsup2

Wow, how fun! Can't wait, but like you said it's a Little early!:goodvibes But, than again, I'm no Martha Stewart,:lmao: So I could use all the time I can get!:rotfl:
I have a DS9 too and a DD7.
How do your kids like the kids clubs?

Let's just say that I have heard wonderful things about the kids clubs, :rolleyes1 however; getting my kid's to go is near impossible. :confused3 I guess our first cruise spoiled them...the family we went with allowed their kids to get food and go to the stores on their own (with a walkie-talkie)...so my kids did the same. Everyone got along great and they were all very responsible. :goodvibes We also did a bunch of stuff together...my husband and I love Disney probably more than the boys...so we hung out together. Now three cruises later...and the pattern has been set.

So, I guess I am really no help in this department...I do know that the kids in the clubs look like they are having a great time and most parents cannot get their kids out of the clubs because of the fun! :upsidedow

As we are just 2 adults i have no idea on the kids clubs. but i do know that i wanted to make flubber and bake cookies, - the kids clubs look so much fun!

Tripod,
I'm with you! I want to know how to make Flubber too!!! The cookies on the other hand, I've got that department handled.:)

Crystal....It'll be interesting to see if my kids will do the clubs or not. We've always done a land based vacation and hung together, so they may do the same on ship. Hmmm Doesn't matter cuz we're going for the world record # of rides on the Aqua Duck:cool1:

On Panama Canal Disney Cruise, I saw some adults went to kids club and had the fun with flubber!!

Dream look so beautiful too...
