We were on the April 10, 2011 4-day trip. This was our second DCL trip. The first was in 2009 on the Magic. We loved the Magic but were very disappointed in the food.
Now we were super excited about being on the new ship, but were concerned at the food quality. Overall there are no concerns now. We really loved. Now onto the food porn.
They tell you that Enchanted Garden on deck 2 is ready for lunch, but we wanted to go to Cabanas first.
They had some good variety and it wasn't too difficult to navigate around the different stations. We went right for the crab claws. They were big and looked great. They were partially cracked to help. Unfortunately they were so thick that we had a real tough time getting them open. My DW and DD11 couldn't crack them. So we moved on to different treats. We were so excited that I forgot to take pictures here. Sorry gang. The pictures will come more in other restaurants. I promise.
To the Royal Palace...
This is a beautiful restaurant. Our rotation was RP-AP-EG-EG.
Here's the menu.
Cute bread basket, perfectly themed.
Melon boat for DS6. He is quite picky and this worked well.
DD11 is an adventurous eater. She went for the French onion soup for this appetizer. She loved it.
DW and I both got the Shrimp with lobster medallions and asparagus. Pretty good.
DS is crazy for his melon boat.
And now he got his chicken strips. So he is good to go. He loved the steak fries. Our asst server Lucie made the Mickey head with ketchup for him.
DD, DW and I went for the tenderloin. It was excellent.
DS went for the Mickey Ice Cream bar and they doctored it up a bit. He loved it.
DW and DD went for the Sweet Temptations. They had this most nights. It often was three small samples of items on the menu. The creme brulee was adorable.
I went for the full creme brulee and it was great. The little cookie was not.
