Disney Dream 8th January 2012

Now less than 5 months away....

We received a welcome packet when we paid a few months ago, and registered online, but I think we still need to do some more online registration in October when it becomes available for our cruise.

According to some posts, if you stay at the Hyatt at the airport in MCO the night before, you can let them know and they will pick up your bags in the morning and bring them to Disney for you - next time you see them will be in the cabin - or you can check out of the hotel and check into Disney cruise line with your bags.

Can not wait to be in Orlando!!

Me too:cool2:
rain every day for weeks...................

My partner and I were thinking of getting a cabana on Castaway Cay...they look amazing and cost a small fortune - 500 dollars. They have a fridge stocked with soda and water, plus air conditioning, stock of towels, nice chairs, private beach and a safe. It would be great to share with some people, don't think we can afford one for ourselves.

Has anybody ever got a cabana before? Want to share one?

Ive seen them but never had one, its a great idea to share but this trip is so expensive for us anyway its not an extra I think is affordable for us, hope you get some one to share with:thumbsup2

would you get one on the adult beach? I think they are 400$ instead of 500$ (or is it 500 instead of 600...)

sharing one would be a good idea, since we would not be able to pay for one on our own either...

RE Meet, we will be there at 3:00 or a pinch earlier if we can, just to say Hi to one and all.

Re: cabanas yes they are nice we split one with a group on the NYE cruise last year, sorry it just is not in the budget this time. Also don't pre book one as they may want to discount the price if they do not get any reservations.

Gotta brag a pinch, this morning in our State Sr Olympics games I placed 3ed in the 5K cycling Time Trial. There are some fast old guys out there.

Well done on the time trial.
All the old guys are fast in my experiance Scott;)
( Well Leonard is:lmao:)

I love cycling, Im definatly not fast.
Do you practice on the roads? I nearly got knocked off my bike at a roundabout on friday, I have a hybrid bike, I would love a racing bike but I am just too nervous on the road to justify the expense,I do it if I have to but generally stick to the trails and forest roads. I had an bright yellow reflective jacket on and STILL she nearly took me out.
Stay safe wont you.

Well done :thumbsup2

3pmish sounds good then :thumbsup2

Yes we are lucky to have a nice road nearby that is not heavily traveled so that is where we train, however we do have to ride about 1/4 mile on a busy roadway to get there.

Roundabouts are just starting to be installed here in our city and people are very very very slowly getting used to them. Traffic is scary for sure, we also wear bright clothing etc and still it can get dodgy at times, we need to anticipate and expect the unexpected. ALWAYS wear a helmet. We do have a pretty nice trail system here but it is not good for go fast training.

We did a 50 miler today with a 20-25 MPH head wind out and were very fast on the way back. :thumbsup2 I also take it for granted we live at 6000 plus feet above sea level.

3ish will be perfect, also one no longer needs to wear the life jacket to the drill so that makes it easier to cut out from the meet. :thumbsup2

Really getting more and more excited about this trip as the days pass.

I think you are right, on the adult beach they are $399 - still expensive, but not bad if shared...
If someone is interested, let me know, my email is xiphoid76@hotmail.com.

Been watching clips of them on youtube and they look great!!

Very cute and fluffy

after the sail drill its sail away party at 5, we could do 3pm?

If I had a pound for every time I heard that!

Of course , I will add you to the list, how was the wonder, we miss her!!

Will be great to do another Fish Extender - I have almost 5 months to think of really good stuff, this time! What's the number of participants looking like? Maybe you could give an updated list? This will help me budget.

Brett and boy (age 5) room 7156
Kris and girl (age 10), girl (age 8), girl(age 4) room 7154

Thank you very much for organising this - can't wait to cruise the Caribbean, again! The Wonder felt just like home - she was our 1st Disney Cruise ship and will always be special to our family.

Kris (Walt's Wife)

We haven't made more payments either - this is one cruise we could not do on DVC points - but is seems that mailings can be sporadic. We agree about Palo brunch, enjoy it more than Palo dinner!

We totally agree that brunch at Palo is the best. We just tried high tea at Palo on our recent Wonder cruise and it was very nice, too - would highly recommend it for anyone disappointed if unable to book a brunch.

Haven't done much research, yet - what's Remy's all about?

Kris.

As Scott said, we did this with a group on one cruise, it was a lot of fun, don't remember air conditioning, it is an open cabana, did have a ceiling fan (I think). We could get more water and some extra snacks, but no extra of alcoholic punch. If you needed to get to the adult lunch area, they would come and pick you up in a golf cart.

We will put 3pm at the District lounge on our schedule!

We have found that it is sometimes harder to get High Tea reservations than it is to get Brunch reservations - we did it once, really enjoyed that also!

I agree with everything you say, I always expect people not to make room for me, I always make eye contact before passing cars, thats the really annoying thing, she looked me in the eye bofore trying to run me over!!

I think its the palo version on the dream, after several cruises we finally got around to dong brunch on the pc cruise, omg, it was amazing, we done it for my 40th, yumm yumm, I did not enjoy high tea at all, very poor compared to what I understand high tea to be, we got rolls?? rolls? whats that all about? should be cucumber sanys with the crusts cut off and all that jazz.
I dont think we will bother with remys, no time on this cruise, will wait til we do a longer cruise.

RE Remy's: it is a $eperate dining location from Palo and more expensive $$$$ I seem to recall plan on $200 with the pared wine. Same deck as Palo but on the port side of the ship where Palo is on the Starboard side.

No AC in the beach cabanas they are very open , lots of shade, and a ceiling fan.

Busy past week here, in Richmond VA to do a presentation, then home for the MS 150 bike ride, home a couple of day then off to see the Pro Challenge as they progress through Steamboat Colorado. Got a bid to do lits to get it all together so I better get going.

Hi everybody, what you all up to?
We went to nottingham last week on a west bound transatlantic reunioun weekedn, it was great, we are so lucky to have met such a lot of disney cruise friends over the years.:cool1:

Hi!

we were on vacation last week we rented a cottage for a few days with our dog. It was great and very relaxing.

Now it's back to work and counting the days until our next vacation (november, and then january!!!!)

Heading to Colorado tomorrow to spectate at the Pro Challenge ( pro bike race) many of this years Tour de France racers will be racing, (Cadel, Frank, Andy and Levi) will see the finish of stage 4 and then get up early to position on climb of Stage 5 on Rabbit Ears Pass.

Got new wheels on my 32 year old Motobacane road bike, had a rim failure a while back, so get to get the old machine out looking forward to a nice ride tomorrow morn.
