Are you flying? Also the other people from Phila -- are you flying? Just curious if we are on the same plane. I'm on Southwest and arrive around 5:30 Ithink. I have to wait for my sister to get in from San Francisco around 6 then rental car and drive to the port. I forget how long that drive is. We are going to the radisson. Anyone got the directions? When we went once before there were fires everywhere and we were detoured for a long time. I just want to be able to get some dinner.

Found my pirate stuff - if I gain an ounce I won't wear it . ADo you know which day is pirate day??

We're flying out Saturday at 7:30 on Southwest, but flying to Tampa (only way to use the frequent flyers), then driving to WDW (Bay Lake Towers).

I am putting final touches on packing today. Matthew has his last baseball game tonight and DH is changing spark plugs and battery on our car now. We are going to be treading lightly around the house this week. I do not want to leave food in the refrigerator or have dishes etc. to clean so we are eating on paper plates and plastic silverware until trash day on Wed, and then it's fast food until we leave.

Have a great weekend. I tend to stress over weather so I am not even looking at extended forecasts. I will look at the sky and let that be my outlook.

I was told Semi formal is 2nd night and Pirate night is 3rd night which would be Tuesday (Nassau) night.

Now that we officially have one graduated from high school and one entering high school, we've been having lots of career path talks. If anyone is interested in disclosing their title, brief job description and how much you love (10) or hate (1) your job and possibly pros and cons, we would love to have another career discussion while we're on our plane next week!!!!!!

Sure, I am a Senior Health Physics Technician. I graduated with a BS in Environmental Science with a minor in Radiochemistry. I work in a radiochemical bioassay lab. We test nuclear workers for radiological contamination. I have worked there for 16+ years.

Pros - I love wet chemistry work and I get to work in a chemistry lab everyday. The pay is good, although right now we are under a pay freeze for 2 years.
Cons - I work with body fluids of all types Nothing like getting to ash someone's umm (no nice way to put this, I think you get the picture). I literally do the same process day in day out. We do change labs once a year, but still very much grunt work. Our budget depends very much on government politics, and I have been laid off twice before.

I would give my job a 10 because it is the only job I have ever had. I was recruited while in college and the company even paid for me to finish my 4 yr degree. The downside is there are only 9 national labs in the country so it isn't like you can just go to another place and find a job in your field.

Don't know the directions from port to radisson off the top of my head. But we will be there too. Remember we're having a mini meet on Sat night by the pool (forgot what time, it's in the roll call). I think it's about an hour from the airport to the radisson. We'll see you there!!!!

He reminded me that when we went on our first 7 night Disney Cruise - which happened to be our honeymoon 10 yrs ago 2 wks before Christmas - my suitcase cost him an additional $75 because it weighed too much!!! I've been warned......

Ha ha and you wanted me to send you the bracelets for you to carry down in the luggage I'm glad I didn't. Speaking of my DH saw much "crap" luggage with all my FE's, vinylmation dolls for signing, colored pencils ... I thought he might have a crazy fit, but he was pretty good about it.

Our last Disney cruise was on the Magic in May 2009... I was looking thru the pictures this morning and came across the embarkation day pic of the girls. Thought I'd share. Someone was talking about time flying recently.... so true!!

My husband tried too get me to go last night....I said nope!! Waiting too see it on the ship!! He should have let me book him when I first put money down on this cruise.... I told him I will go with him after the trip,but he is just going too have too wait.. I know he wishes he was going with us now that it is finally here....

I can not wait too see Pirates on the ship...

When we booked our flights, we were going to catch a non-stop on SAturday out of Kansas City (about 2.5 hrs away)...then a few months ago they changed that schedule and had us arriving later on Saturday than we wanted to, so we went ahead and had them change us to Wichita...

Well the flight out of Wichita was for 620 a.m. which we knew would be painful, but then this week the airport issued a statement to the local news that passengers departing between 6 and 9 a.m. needed to be at the airport a full TWO HOURS prior. We have TWO security lines, and there are ELEVEN flights that leave from here between 6 and 9 am.

420 a.m.? really?

So I called airtran and asked if they would consider waiving the change fees to put us out of here on Friday evening instead. They said they'd waive two of them. I told them I'd discuss and call back. When I called back I recalled that it would be change fees + fare difference so we were looking at $275 PER PERSON to change the flight. I sweet talked again, reminded them that I am a travel agent that ALWAYS looks to put people on Airtran first, and she put me on hold, came back, and waived ALL THE FEES to change us to Friday night!



Now we are leaving at noon, we have a 2 hr connection instead of a 45 minute connection (that we were also seriously freaking out about), and we get down there at 7p.m. on Friday. We're probably just going to stay at the Airport hyatt that night, then catch MagicalExpress on Saturday morning to go over to OKW.

I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulder. I am sooooooo happy!

Speaking of the male species- are any men going to the champagne tasting?? My DH wants to go (tiara free of course) but doesn't want to be in the middle of our "insanity" (as much as I love him he's SO conservative- I am the total opposite- I call my my 'old portuguese lady' sometimes...). I think he's looking to ensure there will be at least some testosterone in the room that he can bond with over a glass of bubbly!!

My dh might go. He is undecided.

Someone posted on another thread that the champagne tasting is limited to 10 people and that theirs was at 3pm on Nassau day. If we have more than 10 people, I wonder if we could talk them into expanding it so that we can all do it together.

Angie, that is great news about the flight change. Now you can definitely make the M&G at DTD...

I was able to get this Friday off and I tried to change our flight with southwest to either morning or afternoon. They said they would change with no fee but we would have to pay the difference which is 180.00 pp. doesn't make sense, if there are still seats on each of the flights, what difference does it make if we switch. I'll try again on Wednesday and see if they will switch us without the difference. If not we won't get to OKW until after midnight... When we booked the flight last year I had no idea I would build up so much comp time this year.

Beautiful day here in Philly. Got a little too much color, but it was the only chance I had before the cruise. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Get a free photobucket account. There is a "now" button. Click it and it will bring up a window. Click on "select photos and video." A window pops up for you to locate your picture on your hard drive. Select the picture. If you double click it, it will automatically upload. Once it uploads to photobucket, when you view your picture, there is a box that says "Share this photo." You want to click on the IMG code. It will copy. Then you paste into the disboards message.
