DISNEY DREAM 5-nights May 29th, 2011

Hi All - have not visited in quite some time. Life and work has gotten the best of me. I know I volunteered to help with something but I can't remember what or when. Am I too late? Are there still FE plans?

Got my docs and am all checked in. Just got back from a 5 day at ASMu with 208 high school kids!! It was hot, but fun. They marched in MK and the orchestra performed DTD. It was really nice.

DD just got a formal dress and a dress for Palo, as she turns 23 on the cruise and wants to do it right!! DH needs to get his tux dry cleaned. I am not quite sure what I will pack for those nights. Pirate outfits are ready.

DM has not received her docs yet and is anxious.

Thanks in advance for any updates.

Hey! My DF and I are 25. It is nice to see people in their 20s going. What night are you going to Palo's?! I also read that you are from NJ, I was born and raised there. =)

Sigh....still no docs here. Maybe they are being sent out in alphabetic order of the state you live in? Which would explain why they haven't arrived here in Virginia, yet.

Angie, I love your idea of pretending you're at the beach!! Hope you didn't get sunburned!

Welcome to all the new folks who have signed in! Looking forward to meeting you all!!

April, truly, you don't need anything fancy for your fish extender. Some people just hang out a tote bag or something of the sort. Gradysmommy on ebay makes some really great personalized fish extenders, or there are directions available here on the disboards to make your own--even a no-sew version! Check the links in Virginia's (mommyarewegoingback) signature.

Evening everyone. Add me to the "no docs yet" list. Was really hoping they would be here today, but no go. Oh well, gives me something to look forward to for tomorrow.
Looks like we might actually get a day or two of SUN before the next wave of rain gets here  We really don't need any more rain. They have ALL the gates on the dam at Table Rock Lake in Branson open which is very rare and is not good. The lake just can't hold any more. Hopefully the next round won't be quite as rain heavy.

Hope everyone waiting for docs gets them tomorrow :goodvibes

Whew...spent some time in my basement today! The tornados in Alabama were NO JOKE. Thank God (literally) that He put a wall of protection around us because 2 of them came within a mile of my home. We had no damage but my goodness there is total destruction in some nearby areas :( We have been doing alot of praying for the families affected :grouphug: This cruise could not fast enough for us...

Glad your family is ok. I saw the pictures earlier and they were SCARY! Unfortunately seems to be a very active season so far.

Hi,

I'm not sure where I should be posting this, but, I have a room at CIS for the access to aquaventure. We only have 3 people in our party, so we have space for one more. Is anyone interested?

No cruise docs for us. My mom received hers a few days ago in the regular mail.

I had asked this on the general cruise thread but thought I would ask here also just to see. We currently have a night at the country inn and suites which is around 200 before taxes, this was bad enough before, but now I was laid off from my job on monday so money is very tight. Since the cruise is paid for we are going ahead but I really need to find a cheaper option for the night before...please help. We have cut down our stay after at WDW, if we change it anymore we lose free dining which with 3 boys will cost more...we are driving...canceling our parasailing at cc...I just don't know what else to do....I always thought that being a nurse would be a "safe" job, thanks Obama your health care reform is doing home health in and now I have no job.

Glad you are okay. We thought we were going to have hail and bad storms, but it ended up bypassing us.

Sorry to hear you lost your job. It's memorial day weekend so you may not find the really cheap rates. But since you are driving you really don't need to stay so close to the port. I would recommend going to hotels dot com or priceline, stay somewhere inland away from touristy areas. You can usually find something pretty decent, but you may just have to get up earlier to get to the port.

Oh...My....God.... I am SOooooooooooooooooooooo tired. Worked night shift last night- which I haven't done in over a year!! And I was the "support coverage" for the new version of the electronic medical record - I was supporting the nursing staff. ALL of the nursing staff...in the WHOLE hospital- all 10 units....... My god my feet are going to fall off. I must have walked off 10 lbs! :thumbsup2

So I am going to bed and hoping beyond all hope that when I wake up my cruise documents will be here!!!!! Either not- my bed, blankie and pillow will be :cloud9: right now!!!

Whew! Lots of things to catch up on here! I haven't figured out how to do multiple "quotes" in a reply so I'll just wing it.

I also haven't figured out how people tag others in their status updates on Facebook, but oh well. :)

I can't believe how crazy the tornado season has been for some people. Glad those of you with the most recent bout of storms fared okay! Ironically, we here in Kansas (you know, where Dorothy hails from before her trip to Oz) have had very few storms, we finally this week got some of the rain we really need!

To the laid-off-nurse in IL... :grouphug: :flower3: Keep your chin up, keep the faith! I'm glad you are still going on the trip! My DH works in the Aviation industry and it has of course seriously struggled with the economy the last several years. There was rumor the company was going to move out of state about six months ago and all I kept saying was "We're still going on our cruise!"

Today is Moms Day Out day for DD3 :woohoo::woohoo: I'm going to work out  because I like to eat, and then try to get some more stuff picked up to get the FEs finished up.

on a completely unrelated note, if you're looking for something to do with the kiddos, the movie "Rio" was super cute.

Apparently I am feeling chatty today. Sorry :rolleyes1

Have a great day!

Multi quoting is pretty easy. At the bottom right of each post is the quote button. Next to it is a button labeled "" . Just click each of the "" inside each post you want to multi quote (The button will turn orange/red so you know it will be included) and then click quote or post reply. All the messages will appear in the window and you can respond accordingly.

We survived the storms last night. Just 1 tornado in Chattanooga, but to see the utter devastation in Alabama is unbelievable. Hope everyone made it through okay.

Hope everyone gets their cruise docs soon!

I agree, I've seen even just paper gift bags, to decorated tote bags to hand sewn ones. I got one from gradysmommy too! She's super nice and does beautiful work.

Thank goodness you're safe. Prayers go out to all those around us during this tornado season. It seems to be one storm after another.

Not sure about alternate places, if you stay at places not near port, you'll have to pay for parking at port. Staying at CIS or Radisson may still be the cheapest option if you have a car. It is for us. I'm sorry for what you're going through.

-Virginia

Virginia is right, it's probably cheaper to stick with your current reservation. We never drive to the port so I hadn't considered the parking issue.
