DISNEY DREAM 5-nights May 29th, 2011

I am not much of a seamstress. My mom and MIL are great. My MIL even has an embroider machine and does all sorts of nifty things at my request (we'll have matching shirts for embarkation day, etc). But I really wanted to do this all on my own.

I'm channelling my inner 3 year old "I can do it by myself!!!!"

ANYWHO! I thought about asking MIL to embroider something for the top, but I decided to go retro and break out the PUFF PAINT.

I think it turned out cute though nowhere near perfect. i just want to tell you now, that there is a lot more to do on a Disney cruise that look at my unstraight lines.

oh and as predicted, DH did not want our names on it. So the mickey buttons say "mom" and "dad" and the minnie skirt says "munchkins" (a little nod to the fact we are from Kansas!).

ABCAngie-- I love the FE. I understand about your DH. My DH doesn't even like me posting on the forums. I do have some magnets with our names on them for our door. I figure it's not that hard to figure out my kid's names. Just be close to us and you can hear their names repeated over and over.

Angie, you did a SUPER job on your FE!! I love the kicky little pleats on the skirt--just adorable!! I am looking forward to tucking a goodie or two in there, for sure.

Those pleats were about the death of me, lol!

I'm so looking forward to meeting some of you! I think we need to keep our little dis-meet name tag thingys in our lanyards (those that have them!) for the whole cruise! so if I miss the "meet" I will still be able to find you!!!

My DD and I are on deck 7 in one of the virtual porthole rooms and we are both very excited too see it..First of the kind on cruise ships.....
We will have the same view as everyone else and just think how crystal clear it will be...No gummy salted up windows with condensation from the humidity!!
You are going too love it! Plus we have the extra bonus of visit from all the characters from time too time.

My new Dell Laptop is being shipped now so once I get it will be able too work on my door magnet and my name tags...

Very exciting....I guess any type of magnet paper works?

Thank goodness it is Friday!!! My Angel is turning 13 next week...I can not believe it....Trampoline shopping this weekend. I said that was it,but I could not resist. She had tried on the cutest dress at Aeropostle last week so I went and got it and a few other items she can use for the cruise... She is so spoiled.....

I have the virtual porthole too and can't wait to see it. Oh boy... here come the tween years. I remember my girls at that age and I think it was about the same time I started to color my grey hair

I have spent the day going thru all the post trying to gather more information for the FE's. Now I am wondering if TiffJ and family are still in the FE.

I saw her post back in the 600 and know that alot can change. If anyone knows please let us know as we would hate to leave anyone out.

Anywho, starting to think of things to start gathering in prep for the cruise. picking up a travel sized this or that when I stop in at walmart, etc.

What do you often forget until the last minute?

Today I ordered my Disney Visa rewards card! It takes about a week to get here. SO if you are a Disney Visa person, don't forget to get your rewards card or get your points moved over to your current card

Then you will have some extra $$ to buy me a round of bingo

I'm concerned too as hubbys' paycheck is our only one right now. Hopefully the government can work it out the rest of the way by 4/15.

OTOH we do have a decent emergency fund set up so as long as they don't take another 1/3 of a year we'll scramble by - Good thing the cruise is already paid for tho

I hope your DH fairs well in all this. Surely they can get something in order soon. I couldn't agree with you more, The cruise is paid so at least that is something to look forward to.

Angie, I too am consumed with the thoughts about this cruise. It has been a rough two years for my little family. We are celebrating our Christmas, birthdays, 5 year anniversary, and most importantly...Carol's graduation from college the week before our cruise. She had worked in a factory for twenty years and her job was outsourced to Indonesia. The Fair Trade act helped her to finish her degree program and now she will have her Teaching license as a middle school math teacher and we can move on with our lives. Not to mention she is graduating Summa Cum Laude. She obviously is a heck of a lot smarter than I am. We can't wait to board. We have even came up with a (stolen) FE gift idea from one of the threads on this board.

I have been obsessed with this cruise since we booked it. We are now doing a chain link countdown until we leave for Florida

Great pic!! I still can't believe just how enormous that ship is We watched a video posted on utube of one of the departures. Seeing it in person will be incredible! So very excited!!
