DISNEY DREAM 5-nights May 29th, 2011

Anyone feel "weird" about posting their names on their stateroom doors or on their FE's? I don't mind you all knowing who/where we are, but the other 3900 cruisers.... well, I'm not one to usually mind, but my hubby and inlaws are kind of neurotic about safety/security/privacy. So, what else can we put on our FE besides our names? :)[/QUOTE]

I don't,maybe in the beginning it was a little weird, but I don't care if someone knows my name (I know I'm an adult) but most of the time I dont see people in the halls as everyone is on their own schedule. No one has ever said or done anything by knowing our names. I understand some people with small children don't like to use their 1st names. It's all about what you are comfortable with.
Also, by putting names on the magnets it helps them not to walk away.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that a budget gets passed tomorrow. My DH and I both work for Dept. of Energy and so much is dependent on getting this passed. I know several 100 thousands are in the same boat as us and it's getting scary.

Hello Fellow Cruisers!

Does anyone know if there will be Vow Renewals offered on our Cruise Line? Also, does anyone know the costs or experienced it before?

If not on the Cruise, how about WDW? Anyone have any ideas how much just a simple vow renewal would cost, just me my hubby and our three darling children?

Thanks in advance!

I'm interested to hear the answers on this if anyone has one! Is there a minister/clergy that routinely sails on the ships?

I'm undecided. I want to put our last name, but not the first names, but dh thinks I should put all our names on it. I have been totally slammed with work lately and have not been able to do any crafty things for myself.

I don't know the answer to this, but I am curious if Stefanie Peacock is your real name. All I can think of when I see your screen name is Clue - the game. I think it is a cool name - this coming from someone with a generic name.

I am looking forward to Castaway Cay, which is why we love the double dips! Serinity Bay is my favorite place on earth!!! I can't wait to take pictures of the beautiful water (yes I will be the one with the giant camera taking a million pictures as my husband looks for starfish and other creatures (don't worry, he keeps them in the water and then puts them back!)

I know my pic is in my siggy...but heres another, this is us on Key West in November. (and there are tons on my blog!)

YES!
It is my real name. You can look me up on facebook. Stefanie Knudsen Peacock. My hubby is Dr. Kyle Peacock - Professor Peacock. We get that clue joke all the time. People always says, "I bet that gets old real quick." But I still always find myself laughing so hard. lol

On a serious note, I really hope someone knows the answer to this. We kind of had a rush wedding and got married in a church gym 12 years ago. It was beautiful, don't get me wrong. But my parents were on a really tight budget and our "wedding coordinator" was an angry churchy gossip lady. LOL I would like to replace the so so memories with really good ones. Silly I know.... :) I can't wait until our cruise! YAY!

That is so funny on the name, I hadn't even noticed!

Can I be your flower girl? I haven't got to be one since I was 8 yrs old! :) lol.

Not sure how current this info is but some prices here:

http://www.vacationstogo.com/vow_renewals.cfm#Disney

Basically $2500 @ CC and $1500 at sea for Renewals. If you are interested, I'd suggest calling your TA or Disney immediately to if there is still availability. And if they are offering it on the Dream, the romance package got dropped as I understand it....

DCL has assigned us stateroom 5011 (deck 5, forward). Paid for 11B and got 11B. We were torn between hoping for an upgrade to an oceanview and having a room with the virtual porthole.

Excited to see that 7 week marker! Bring it on!

My DD and I are on deck 7 in one of the virtual porthole rooms and we are both very excited too see it..First of the kind on cruise ships.....:thumbsup2
We will have the same view as everyone else and just think how crystal clear it will be...No gummy salted up windows with condensation from the humidity!!
You are going too love it!:goodvibes Plus we have the extra bonus of visit from all the characters from time too time.:cloud9:

My new Dell Laptop is being shipped now so once I get it will be able too work on my door magnet and my name tags...:banana:

Very exciting....I guess any type of magnet paper works?

Thank goodness it is Friday!!! My Angel:angel: is turning 13 next week...I can not believe it....Trampoline shopping this weekend. I said that was it,but I could not resist. She had tried on the cutest dress at Aeropostle last week so I went and got it and a few other items she can use for the cruise...:rolleyes1 She is so spoiled.....:goodvibes

Have a good weekend fellow cruisers.

I have. I had my VR onboard the Disney Magic in 11/2009. It was super special and super easy. If you want lots of customization and changes to their "list" it's kinda a pain. I don't know the current prices, I do think they went up, you can check on the disney wedding boards. There's a thread just for DCL weddings and VR's. I paid the the 1500 for a VR on Deck 7. There as just me, my husband and my 2 kids. There is a wedding coordinator onboard and she did take care of everything for us, we just brought our clothes, brought some specific music, made a few floral, cake, photo choices ahead of time and that was it. Let me know if you have specific questions that I could help out with. I would call disney weddings immediately if you're interested in doing it in may. They only allow a couple of weddings each cruise. Good luck!

They better agree on something. Sometimes I think they just like to argue for the sake of argument. Hopefully any shutdown would be very brief.
I don't think anyone has much pateince for that kind of crap right now.

So, FE's (Fish Exchange)!!!

The list is up to date. We have 38 families (with 134 people!)

1) Cutoff date is April 15th - next Friday, which is 1.5 months from cruise!

2) I have PM'd everyone on the list. If I didn't PM you, I don't have you on the list, please send me a PM. If you did get the PM, please confirm your information and reply back to me.

3) If you want a detailed list PM'd to you please let me know. (names, ages of everyone by cabin)

4) A week before cruise date, I will have a "map" of which cabins are participating.

Woo Hoo!!!!

I am not much of a seamstress. My mom and MIL are great. My MIL even has an embroider machine and does all sorts of nifty things at my request (we'll have matching shirts for embarkation day, etc). But I really wanted to do this all on my own.

I'm channelling my inner 3 year old "I can do it by myself!!!!" :rotfl::rotfl:

ANYWHO! I thought about asking MIL to embroider something for the top, but I decided to go retro and break out the PUFF PAINT.

I think it turned out cute though nowhere near perfect. i just want to tell you now, that there is a lot more to do on a Disney cruise that look at my unstraight lines. :rotfl:

oh and as predicted, DH did not want our names on it. So the mickey buttons say "mom" and "dad" and the minnie skirt says "munchkins" (a little nod to the fact we are from Kansas!).

So....here's the picture!
