DISNEY DREAM 5-nights May 29th, 2011

Greetings again. We are getting very excited that our cruise is getting so close. My 10 year old daughter, Megan, is still wanting to connect with a few other girls her age before the cruise so she has "friends" to play with on the cruise. We have done this for our other cruises and it was great for all (including the parents!). If anyone has a daughter about this age (4th grade), just send me a PM and we can get them communicating via email in these last few months before the cruise and then they can meet on the cruise.

Thanks!

Booked Palo dinner last night but were already showing brunch as unavailable

Wow, pretty bummed about brunch not being available. I am really surprised that 105+ days out and it is all booked. I guess DCL did a poor job in expanding some of the areas, especially Palo knowing how popular it is for adults.

Could it be possible that they only open a certain number of reservations at each opening of a booking window (105, 90, 75 days), since I often read that there seem to be more available on embarkation day?

Never thought of that. We have never been unable to book brunch prior to the cruise. This would be the first. We need lots of this.... pixiedust: I do know they hold reservations for embarkation day. Our first cruise we got brunch and dinner reservations on embarkation day. It did help we were 2nd inline at check in.

Hi everyone. I've been lurking for a while too. We will be on this cruise! We are Disney fanatics but this is our first cruise. We just cannot wait. It will be my DH and 3 DDs (9,7,4) and me.

Just wondering how many of you are actually using the Disney transportation to the port or some other car service. We are planning to use Happy Limo due to all of the recommendations on the boards but part of me has always wanted to be on that bus.

Looking forward to counting down till Memorial Day Weekend with all of you!

:scared1:Wow!! :scared1: no brunch ressie available!!! I was going to call today as my window opened. Snap!!! I hope they have more opening and I will check in as I really wanted brunch not dinner on this trip.
Last resort I guess if on the ship on the 1st day-- looking for pixie dust!!

Do we know how many cabins are participating in our FE Exchange yet? I need some numbers so I can start getting things ready!!

At 29 as of today. Check out the link in my siggie for the latest, let me know if you need additional info.

It is about 30 families. I am participating, but not on the list and I think another person recently posted they would like to participate. I'm going to try to start working on my FE this weekend.

I have updated the list today, some folks dropped out and some have joined us. Please let me know if you think I'm missing someone. We are at 29 families by my count.

I have a VERY IMPORTANT question for everyone on this thread participating in our FE Exchange.

My husband's cousin and her 5 yr old son are cruising with us. She's recently divorced so we invited her to come along and share a room with my mother in law, knowing she'd never take her son on a cruise on her own. This will be her very first Disney cruise - She does not participate in DIS boards and has no clue about the FE 'tradition'. We are participating- which means that my kids will be blurting all about it (it excites them to find a special surprise in their FE). I don't want him to feel left out - but I also dont want to tell her because she's someone who will feel obligated to particpate and then totally stress out about it (seriously- she's a very anxious person).

 So my plan is to make her a FE for her door and surprise him. I'm going to bring extra goodies for him, but, I was wondering if a few others wouldn't mind dropping off a surprise to him at some point during our exchange even though they aren't exchanging.

Please let me know your thoughts- for me it's all about making this magical for the kids :wizard: and I certainly don't want this little boy to feel 'slighted'.

Also- who's ever maintaining our list- can you please note that one of my children is highly allergic to nuts (peanuts and tree nuts) so if candy is being given out, we're more into 'lolly pops, skittles, and starburst" than anything that could contain nuts (mostly chocolate). Plain cholate coins are fine too.

I also need to make sure my correct room number is on the list because at some point we changed room cats and I'm not sure if that was before or after the FE list was initiated!!! :confused3

I added your peanut allergies to the list. And I think it's a great idea to add your husband's cousin son (did I get that right)? Why don't I add his name and cabin to the list as an extra. I bring extra too, so I would be happy to leave something.

Hey everyone-

Here's an update on everyone we have joining the FE. Do y'all have any questions or concerns right now. People have been asking about a cutoff date. I was 6 weeks before the cruise? Which would put us at 4/17. Is that okay for everyone, or should it be earlier? Let me know what everyone is thinking. Please also verify your names and cabin to make sure I got the right ones. Thanks!

Count me in as being bummed about Palo brunch. Stayed up 'til midnight to try to book it, and the screen immediately said that brunch was unavailable.

I called DCL this morning to ask about it. I spoke to a CM who said "Brunch is only being offered on the 'at sea' day, and it's already totally booked up".

I'm going to keep checking, every day, to see if anything changes. I'm not really buying into the whole "it's already totally booked up" story.

We are officially paid in full:cool1: It feels good even though we can't book any excursions yet, just having this out of the way is great!!

Don't get too upset about Palo brunch. I have never had a problem adding brunch/dinner once on the ship.

I was on exactly at midnight last night too. Palo Brunch was not available, but High Tea and Dinner was showing up. I booked the dinner and went back to High Tea. I got a time and and then it told me it was unavailable for my party size, and then was no longer available at all. I also booked a Remy dinner. I guess we will try to get Brunch onboard.

Counting down the days!:yay:

Just wanted to let everyone know we have canceled our cruise.

Please take us off any lists that I am on.

We have decided to travel somewhere other than disney.

Have a great time guys.

I'm still hoping for all of us to get brunch or tea that we want. I can't believe it's all full. Are there really that many of us going so when the early windows open, everything is booked?? Sorry just venting a little.:rolleyes1

Well we are paid in full, thanks to some overtime, but we have done it. We finished paying today on the cruise and the after party at the CR. I just want to yell it out, but can't tell the kiddies. I have already talked to their teachers, since we have used all of our snow days and they missed the 1st week of december for WDW, I figured I better make sure it was no biggie. The principal didn't seem thrilled, but didn't say no....at most they may miss the last couple days of school which I really don't think they do much. Anyhow, what do I do know. This will be our first cruise, and I have no ideas at all. I don't even know what clothes to start looking for, we are a very casual family so hopefully that won't be a big problem. I also have no clue how to make a FE, or what I need to get together, please help. I am not crafty at all, and my normal helper with ideas can't know about the trip. What to do next.

 Congrats on the paid in full :cool1: We just paid ours off and it is a nice feeling. I'm in the same situation as you. First time cruising, and not so sure how to pack, etc.
