DISNEY DREAM 5-nights May 29th, 2011

This is Me and DH on formal night on our November 2009 7 night DCL cruise. That is my natural hair color. After years of coloring it I finally gave up. My hair grows an inch a month so I always had regrowth (Roots to the rest of you. I'm a hairdresser, so I have to say it that way.) I've grown to like it. You know what they say about the Cobbler's kids not having shoes? Well, it works the same way with hairdressers and their families. Not enough time for ourselves.

Next week one of my co-workers is giving me a pedicure in exchange for a haircut.

Do yourself a favor and pay cash at the nail place. DD went to Florida a few years back and used a credit card at a nail salon and all of a sudden there were all kinds of things popping up her credit report including an address for her in Florida (where she never lived) and a Sears Card under that address. Can't prove for sure that that is where it happened, but she felt it was there that the problem started since pretty much everything else was paid for by her employer.

Thanks for the heads up... I did look at some of the nail salons that had recommendations and good reviews..Then one place on international drive looked really nice. I will be careful....

Getting ready to pack that suitcase -- I leave for FLA in one week - get to spend time with friends before the Cruise and on the cruise -- but vacation mode really kicks in this weekend 'cause I am going to the second jewel of the Triple Crown -- The Preakness. Can't wait -- have my hat ready and $$ to maybe make a little extra cruise dough--- either way will have a great two days going to the Black Eyed Susan on Friday and The Preakness on Saturday!! Counting down.......have a great day!!! Kathleen

WELL, I am usually excited by this time but I am in tears today. I sthink I mentioned I have cognitive issues due to a head injury and then 5 aneurysm operations in the last year. I can't figure anything out here. I'm sorry but I can't figure out the rolll call. If anyone wants to put me down that would be a gift

Belatedly celebrating our birthdays
I can't remember if there was anything else you needed. I'm listed for late dining and we are desperately trying to get to early dining due to some other imedical issues and Disney is not being helpful at all. I cannot eat that late. I did it 2 cruises ago and that bad enough and before the medical issues.

Also --could someone make a list for me where our meet is to get bands and what all the other listed meets are about.. I can't process this. I think I've been under too much stress and my brain is scrambled eggs.

WHoever mentioned my putting cash in the FE's -- - to you I say HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

I didn't get the name of the person who lives near me in Manayunk and if I go searching now I'll lose this - - this site and I don't get along. I wish I'd been able to get to know you guys long before this. I'll never make that mistake again. You seem nice and FUN . I think I just need to relax.
Please don't expect a beautiful crafty FE - - I'm still figuring out what to do and I can't' drive much. I will do my best tho.l I am grateful I have an FE from before or I woudn't bother.

Let me know if I got on the roll call and please consider the list for me. I'm sorry to ask you as I know you are all stressed and busy.

For fun I'll tell you I woke up this morning and felt my food squish into something awful -- one of my cats apparantly pooped on the floor onto the brand new comforter my kids got me for mother's day. It's been downhil from there but there is some humor in it I suppose - I try to find it anyway.

Can't wait tomeet all of you - -that is if I figure it all out. We don't get to the airport til 6 the night before so I don't know if we'll make the Radisson on time but I'll figure out a way to be recognized just in case someone is still there while we get dinner.

Oh -- I did come across a list for the FE's but I don't know if there are changes. Someone mentioned there are 50 but 47 families were on the list. Did I see the wrong list. And where again is the map for the FE's. I lost it. I have to get my sister to print it for me as my printer isn't working.

I wouldn't stress about not getting early dinner. Go directly to guest services when you get on the ship and see what they can do. If they can switch you they will.

OMG does anyone feel like we're at the point where we are VERY excited because we are SO close- but there just isn't enough time to get everything done!!! I finally pulled out all the new clothes and bathing suits and have them all in the washer. I'm going to start making the piles of clothes in the spare room and eventually they will migrate into the suitcases!!!

I'm also trying to compile a list of all the 'little things' I need to remember - like the bottle opener (have a basket w/wine being delivered), nail clippers - which have to go in an outside pocket so I can snip off the zip ties for the luggage (we use them instead of locks) and all the little things I may need to keep the kids busy for the flight and bus ride. Feeling sort of right now!!! I'm only working 1 full day and 2 1/2 days next week so should be able to get everything done- assuming I can remember what everything actually is!!!

I'll try and find some recent pics of us so you can put a face to my name. I have a hair appointment to 'touch up' my "growing out" (my son reminded me "mom your brown is showing") and a mani/pedi appointment for Friday. I also need to get to the fake and bake at some point - probably daily next week!!! (I look like Casper no matter how much sun - or fake sun- I get).

I'm really not as dense as I seem and YES I am over the top excited but will feel better when I'm all packed and ready to go. It's easier since my husband will be home to feed cats and stuff but it's still nuts.

I want to but no way I have time this weekend, so I really hope they do show it on the ship! Would be very surprised if they didn't. The previews look really good. I LOVE Ian McShane from HBO's Deadwood (among other things) and think he will be an excellent villian.

when we get off the boat friday we drive 9 hours home then I get on a plane for california early saturday morning for a business trip for 4 days, I am going to be ZONKED! so i have to pack for that, too. yikes!

getting ready for vacation is stressful for anyone under normal conditions. For you, with all you have been through, it must be 100 times more. Looking forward to meeting you too. Hope you can get early dining. I know on our first cruise, by the time late dinner came along I already had a migraine and ended going back to the cabin half way through dinner to sleep it off.

By the way, it must have been a cat thing today, because when I went over by my dresser to put away clothes so I can start to pack, I stepped in something cold & wet. One of the cats yakked up a hairball during the night. I heard it happening, but by the time I got up I forgot about it. Boy, was that a cold reminder.

We're waiting to see it on the ship. It will be there. It's being "premEARed" this Friday on the ship.

I agree, with all the planning, I feel like I am running out of time! So much to get done as this little thing called work seems to get in my way of my fun stuff- shopping, packing etc...

I recall reading someone was going to ship their FE gifts down- have you do it yet? I never have but am considering it this time. Do you have the address?

I need an opinion!!!!!
DD and DS can't swim yet - they are getting there but still not 'safe' in the water if it's over their heads. Should I bring their swim belts (they wrap around their waste) for the pool and/or CC?? I'm not as worried about the pools since I think they'll spend more time in the Mickey Pool than the family pool, but I am worried about CC, especially if it's windy so 'wavier' than calm. (does that even make sense??).
I believe I can get something for them for Pellican Plundge (like a water-ski vest) but can I rent those for the day or should I bring their belts (not huge but will take up some room in the suitcase...)

As a past life guard I could say definitely get them life vest. They are the safest for the children.

Someone posted a few pages back that they called DCL and it will be playing during our cruise (along w/Gnomeo and Juliette, the latest Tron movie, and a few other movies).

I am going to try and see it before hand ONLY so I can determine how violent it is and whether or not DS (7 almost 8) and DD (6 wks shy of 6) will be able to handle it. I just don't know if I'll have time- the ONLY day DH and I could go would be next Wed at lunch time and my hair appontment is at 11. I'm going to call the hair dresser and see if she can see me a little later in the day. If not- I'll ask on these boards for opinions and thoughts on the level of violence in the movie and who brought their children and how it was for them.
