Disney Dream 12502

big pro - everything you are referencing is true. The Walt has a view from the bath/shower not the bedroom. And the way the bedroom was arranged appears so closed in.

Trish, thanks to you and this great report we went ahead and upgraded our cat T to the Roy for Sept 2013.

You are absolutely going to LOVE IT! Promise to post your own pictures when you get back. Now if I can just get my taxes paid I can book another cruise :-)

Trish....I am in the Walt Suite in August, and will post some pics when I return. One thing I am concerned about is the hurricane effect being at the front of the ship. You mention the first night neing windy.....but is that the only night? Also, I hear the "gates" to get to the concierge rooms sometimes are not working. Did you experience that, or does it appear to be fixed now?

Hi there:
I would love to see the pictures. Thanks so much for offering.

The first night is HORRIBLY windy due to the ship going so fast to get down to Nassau in the morning. After the sail away party they hauled down there. If you stay back in the hot tub or in the seating area you'll be OK. But if you try to stand up and walk around, not so much. I went out around midnight and brought all the pillows in and stacked all the furniture in the corner because everything kept blowing around. I didn't get out in time though. Two pillows went overboard.

The rest of the time they are going at such a leisurely pace it's not a problem at all for wind. I also didn't experience any issues with it being too bumpy. The first time I had a problem was two days after the cruise. I had land sickness. Go figure. Lasted for nearly a week. I was stumbling around like I was drunk.

I did not experience the issue with the gates. But here's a work around if they don't work. Reach in through the gate and manually turn the handle from the other side. They open right up. Shhhhhh. Apparently no one is supposed to know. That's how I got all my non-concierge guests to come in without me having to come fetch them. You will also find there aren't any people just walking through the concierge area for no reason. It's such a small area and no fun for anyone that can't get into the concierge or into a guest room. It was never noisy, crowded, etc.

I wish we could book the Roy right next to you all in August. Have an amazing time!

Here is my question I hope someone can answer. How strict are the staff about age cut offs for the kid clubs? My children are 7 and 9 and they are really close. I am sure they will want to hang out together during their activities but I think the club categories 5-7 and 8-12. Do you think they will allow my 7 year old to hang out with her brother in the older room?

From the ages you mentioned they could both be in the Oceanears Lab.

Hello! Just reading your thread and noticed that you mentioned that you could order (for your room) any item off of any restaurants menu via concierge?

Hi There:
Yes, part of the perks of the Roy Suite is that you can order any item from any menu, including Palos. We only ordered Palos once from Concierge. The rest of the time the kids wanted to be with their cousins in the main dinning area. But it sure was nice to have Palos in our room the first night because we were exhausted with all of the travel and chasing the kids around.

I am pretty sure in the other concierge rooms you can order from any menu except for Palos.

Trish
