Disney dream - 01-30-11

Welcome TJGorman! We only signed up a few weeks ago ourselves and are SO excited to be on the second cruise of the DREAM.

We got socked with about 2 feet of snow here in the hudson valley as well and it's a comfort to have in mind a cruise to look forward to in 4 1/2 weeks! Just hope the weather in FL and the Caribbean warms up for us!

For those who've joined lately we plan a get together at the Donald pool at 3PM for all us DIS'ers.

Good morning. I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Welcome to all the newbies. We got our docs yesterday for the Maiden Voyage so I am sure the docs are soon to come for this cruise as well!!!!

We had a great Christmas as well.....but boy am I wiped out from all the visitors, cooking, cleaning, wrapping, preparing, yadda, yadda, yadda!!! I can sure use this vacation!!

So excited to get a Flip Video and a Kindle for Christmas.....also a new Dooney and Burke Mickey bag!!!! Santa was good to me!!!

We are in Rockland County and also got hit with a ton of snow!!! It just would not stop!!! Our DD was supposed to fly out to LA yesterday but can't get out until NYE.....love having her home for a few more days!!!

We're practically neighbors! We're in Fishkill NY. Our DD's boyfriend was coming in by train Sunday night during that storm, took him 8 hours to get here from syracuse which is normally about a 4 hour trip!

Me too!!! My DH got me one for Valentines Day and I use it constantly. Plus I got the Kindle app on my smartphone so even if I don't have it with me I can still read while waiting in line or waiting to pick up DS!

I have the BN nook and LOVE it! Santa got me a gc to load it up for the trip..and my brother got us a gc to use in disney/on board

So excited to hear you guys love your Kindle!! I loaded one book on it to get started...."Port Mortuary" and have been reading that....took it with me while waiting for my DD to get off the Ferry in NYC....so convenient!!! I got the red cover and I love it!!!

And...what do you guys do that you have a conference on DCL.....? Just curious!!!

I am on a travel agent seminar. Very excited! I am looking forward to seeing the Dream!

{And getting out of Buffalo in the middle of January is an added bonus!!! }

It sounds like everyone had a good holiday. We gave my mother-in-law a colored Nook for Christmas- she was pretty excited for it. Me and my husband are planning on bring the ol' paper books with us during our cruise! I am excited to try out my new telephoto lens that my mom got my for my camera... so you will be able to pick me out as the crazy girl trying to take a ton of pictures... oh wait I think we will all be doing that!!
And for those of you stuck in the snow... if you makes you feel any warmer- we have had record snow this December- we are up over 36 inches. All of which is still on the ground. It makes for a sweet January cruise!!

so another gift we received was a new digital camera for the trip. My dad also bought us a plastic sleeve/bag to use the camera underwater

Bringing my Kindle on the trip as well especially since we have 2 hours in Denver layover each way plus 5 hours in Orlando on the return trip! I was hoping we could stay on the Dream as long as possible since we have such a wait but they said they kick us off at 0930. Darn! Wish the layover was more like 3 hours. We fly back to to west coast, so it will be a long day. Guess I will get alot of reading done. Hubby got the new generation Kindle for Christmas. It is very nice. I have the Kindle 2, but the 3 is so light, smaller and nicer buttons. I got him a subscription to the local newspaper since he is traveling more.
