Michelle, thank you so much for the pictures from the Little Mermaid ride. I love this ride, it is so fun. The music is wonderful and it is just a blast. One of my favorite effects is the water on the back of the clamshell that you got the pictures of.

So what is Lafou's brew exactly? (please tell me it isn't some sort of butter beer knock off)

And the Little Mermaid ride looks to be about the same as what is in DCA...but the outside of the ride is sooo much better. Often I feel like DLR gets the exteriors right a little better than WDW... but not for that ride.

I think it's because they wanted to keep the San Francisco look to the area of DCA. That's why it's still the Palace of Fine Arts.

It's whatever they have at Carsland as a drink. It's an apple juice slushie with a hint of marshmello topped with a mango passion fruit foam.

Do you have a PTR going for the Feb trip? Is that the princess run? We all shared it to taste it. Next time we will each get our own!!! We did get both cups though.

Anakin made it almost a whole week without seizures. But last night he began with clusters again. This time during the second one we gave him the "magic pill". It was around 1:30pm. Good thing we don't have any plans for today.

We can't think of a single thing that could have triggered it. He had a good day yesterday. He worked ahead in math and did all his other school work. He didn't have any gluten or sugar. And he spent his evening playing with his trains. It was a nice calm day for him.

I'm glad you don't get them with your condition.

Most of them have been in his sleep, so he is totally unaware he is having them. I think it's better that way.

It does affect his memory sometimes. For example, the other day we were driving at sunset and he rediscovered what a sunset was. He was so excited when he saw part of the sky orange and the rest of it blue. He wanted to know what was happening to make the sky so beautiful. I explained to him it was a sunset.

Last year he lost his ability to read. It has been a struggle for us to get it back. He is now back to reading 3 and 4 letter words. But we had to start all over at the alphabet, that's how much memory was affected.

For some reason, he retains everything Star Wars though. The neuro said it all has to do with different parts of the brain used for memory. He has also retained math and science.

The neuro said that based on where his Cortical Dysplasia is and where the signals come from, it is the english and reading he should retain and the math and science he loses. It's very puzzling how the brain works sometimes. Definately more research needs to be done!

Yes, you definately need to save room for the drink! You can try it at DLR too when you are there for Megan's thing. Carsland has the same frozen concoction under a different name!

While my little man is resting, I will crank out some more updates. We are back tracking to September. I think it was Sept 26th.

DIS Meet!!

A year ago we were preparing to meet up with new DIS friends at the House of Blues to watch Rachel perform. We never thought we would be seeing our friends this soon! This day was going to be the third DIS meet with them. Our first was in Charlotte on our way home from a vacation up north.

The meeting place was DTD. Their girls had an appointment at BBB after noon. We arrived around 11. We thought we'd quick eat before we went searching for them. We went to the restaurant that replaced the McDonalds at DTD, but Anakin didn't like anything they had to offer to eat.

He was more fascinated with bugs that he found all over the wall and railing at the Lego store. They were all over at Pop too. They weren't love bugs and they weren't mosquitos. I'm not really sure what they were, but they were annoying. When I was taking pictures of the fireworks they were all over me. When we stayed the weekend at POP, I'd find a few in the bath tub each morning. Yuck! They were everywhere and worse than lovebugs.

We were off to Earl of Sandwich instead! We don't eat there often since gluten does not do his body good. He was too excited to eat, but I ordered him a sandwich just in case he could eat.

Pizza sandwich for him, a tuna melt for dh and I to split and a bowl of Wisconsin Cheddar Soup.

Anakin ended up eating a few grapes and that was it. He was too excited to see Lisa again!!

After lunch we headed over to BBB. We didn't see them inside or near the podium so I asked if they had arrived yet. I was told they did check in and were given a pager so they should be in the store.

I headed over to the princess merchandise and sure enough!! There they were!! We were able to spend some good quality time with them before their buzzer went off.

When their pager went off, we parked ourselves outside the store. DH found a spot where Anakin could see directly in and watch both Rachel and Lisa. I took out my camera and went to take a picture, but was stopped immediately by a fairy godmother. She told me no pictures allowed unless you are with a party. I said I was with them, so she told me to go back to them to take the pictures.

I will let Judy tell you about their BBB experience in her TR. It was very fun, and I took a ton of pictures for them. But someone very important was missing from the boutique most of the time. The photopass person was out at the podium talking to guests instead of inside BBB snapping pictures of all the princesses inside. She came around a few times though.

We followed them over to the photo shoot. Then it was time to part ways as dh had to get to work.

Oh, Michelle!!! I am SO IN LOVE with Fantasyland!!!! You are right, the costumes are amazing. The buildings and all the details are phenominal!!! And yes, the mermaid is perfect - loving the detail of her hair in the "water". So glad Anakin gave it a try and enjoyed it. March can't get here fast enough for me - I so MISS DISNEY!!!!

Those bugs were everywhere and worse at night. They are gone now. In fact, we didn't see any of them when we stayed at POP the following weekend for MNSSHP.
