Sea World's Halloween Spooktacular is on tap for today after Grumpy gets back from taking the SAT.


Anakin has been breaking my heart lately. He doesn't understand why his seizure medicine isn't curing his seizures. He says when he has a sore throat the medicine from the doctor makes it go away. When is this medicine going to work? I tried to explain how it treats him, doesn't cure him as gently as I could. He began to panic and worry if he will have this all his life. He wants it to go away. He wants to take a bath with water filled to the top, he wants to climb a tree, he wants to play video games all day not just 15 minutes a day, his list went on and on. He hates Epilepsy, so do we! I answered him maybe someday. And we cling to that hope of some day...

Thanks, appreciate it. That would be wonderful if he could outgrow it. Originallly it was suspected he had Benign Rolandic Epilepsy which is usually outgrown, but then the MRI with dye showed it was not. There is still hope that things could change for the better around adolescence! The neuro had hopes all his extra neurons could be put to use. Surgery is out though, for now. They discovered on the last MRI the dysplasia is along the right parietal and the temporal lobes.

I wish I could give you both...

He felt good about the SAT. When I asked if he needs to sign up for November's he didn't think so.

Anakin had a great day yesterday. There were no more pity parties. After Grumpy got back from testing we went to Sea World and The Food and Wine Festival where we met up with some friends. Grumpy was too tired to go with us. He stayed home, took a nap and caught up on some work.

We have been to Orlando alot this week. Monday to Epcot, Saturday to Sea World and Epcot, and today to the Poly for dessert.

Monday we ate at the Coral Reef. We had our favorite server!! I was surprised to see the menu changed again.

The item I was going to order wasn't on there any more. I decided to order it's replacement, the Vegetable Potato Strudel. I had no idea what to expect.

I was told the sauce was very similar to the Ragout sauce in the previous dish, so I asked for the sauce on the side.

When I think strudel, I think apple strudel. Maybe I just have no clue what a strudel is?! Because what was served was nothing like what my mind had pictured.

This is what I pictured, but with slices of potatoes, carrots, squash, zuchini, etc.

This is what I was served.

It tasted like Vegetable Heaven!! The pototoes weren't slice, they were garlic mashed, and perfectly moist. All the other vegetables were cooked to perfection. Each bite made me want to exclaim it's yumminess. I used the sauce on a few bites, but it wasn't needed and I felt it added too much garlic flavor to it.

We wanted to try their newest seasonal soup, a sweet potato and carrot soup. But our server told us that she had looked at it and it looked the watery. She said the chef checked it out and was preparing a new batch but it wouldn't be ready in time for us to try it. So she brought out apples for Anakin as his appetizer.

Goofy got his usual Mahi mahi

It said it was one of the best times he had Mahi Mahi there. Sometimes it has been dry, but this time it was cooked to perfection. And most importantly to him, there was enough sauce for his last bite of rice. He joined the clean plate club on this one!

Poor Anikin. We get the same kind of comments from Grace about her seizures. She just wants them to go away, too. It's hard to see these little ones dealing with so much and not be able to fix it for them.

Strudel is a type of layered pastry with a filling inside, most of the time it is a sweet filling with cream. Your savory strudel looks yummy! And that Mahi Mahi looks awesome (I have a whole freezer full of that fish, thanks to dh trip to Cabo...now to get that recipe).

That was the first he's ever really asked. He asked another doozy on the way to the car last night. He asked why he acts like a 2 year old. Why does he have temper tantrums, and can't color in the lines, or run as good as the other kids, or run up and down steps, etc.

He also said he doesn't want to get too smart because he doesn't want people to bully him. Because smart people get bullied.

In the past he's mentioned he likes Disney because he feels special instead of different there. I guess now he is beginning to verbalize the differences he is noticing.

I got my photopass cd last week. There are probably 20 pics with your daughter from Jedi Training. Do you want me to put them on photobucket or facebook? I think it would take a very long time to download in an email.

It was amazing! They are serving the same Mahi recipe at the F&W festival at the Brazil stand. I wonder if they have recipes for it there? In past years, they use to put the recipes out for people to take, but then they wised up and realized there is $ to be had, and put out a recipe book. I didn't see any 2011 recipe books for the booths.

Anakin got his braces adjusted this week. I am amazed with the progress in just 6 week's time.

It has been a great and fun weekend!! We checked out Sea World's Spooktacular and the F&W Festival twice!

Saturday was WDW's 40th birthday celebration. We decided to stay away from MK that day.

Bayside Stadium was transformed into a dance party. There was dancing, coloring, live animals and a trick or treat stop there.

We met a sea creature who did not know what kind of fish a jedi was. He wondered if it was some kind of sword fish?

Anakin tried his best to explain Star Wars to this funny Sea Creature.

Trick or Treat areas were marked with these umbrellas

These starfish knew about jedis and were bombarding him with homonyms in particular playing off the presents they thought he had in his bag and presence.

I found Petals rainbow!!

There is a new restaurant where they use to have the Anheiser Busch samples and beer school. Now it's an all you can eat pizza and pasta buffet.

Thanks! We couldn't believe the transformation. One day he was complaining his teeth felt wiggly. The next morning he woke up and they looked great!!
