Disney done differently, (BOG dining updates pages 202 and 203)

Back to Pop Century!

Did they change the comforter design? I didn't remember them looking as they did. I thought there were more bright colors? Or maybe I am thinking of a different resort?

The pocket watch marketing ploy on this table really enticed me!

We didn't stay in the room long. Anakin and I headed to the MK. Grumpy didn't want to go with us. He said he was going to watch tv then head to Disney Quest. I got a text a few minutes later that he took the car to Disney Quest. Exercising his freedom WITHOUT asking if he could borrow the car?! That was the first.

Anakin and I only had to wait about 10 minutes for the MK bus to arrive!

While we were on the bus, Lidian's children were finishing up at the Pirate league and slunderwood was at the Mickey/Minnie and Princess Meet and Greet on Main Street! Anakin really wanted to meet Luke, but he didn't want to go to the meet and greet. We waited at the exit for them to get out of the Mickey one, but discovered they were in the princess one, so we headed to Buzz to meet up with Lidian and family.

You would think it would be easy to spot a mermaid and a pirate! We did not see them, and they were right in front of us! A text later and we found each other.

We rode Buzz and then the TTA. There was a little mix up getting in the cars, but on after thought it's funny. Anakin sat beside Lidian, and her two children sat with me in one car. Her husband sat with total strangers! Poor guy!

I think Anakin freaked Lidian out a bit. When we got into the dark, he slumped down in his seat because he is afraid of the dark. She thought maybe something was happening to him with his epilepsy or something. We all thought that space mountain seemed darker longer?

After enjoying some time with them, we parted ways and headed for a snack at Cosmic Rays. Anakin had a kids chicken nuggets, and I got a side of green beans. I love their green beans!

Here we met up with slunderwood and her wonderful family. The boys did the hula hoop. I never saw that at Cosmic Rays!

After MK, we headed back to Pop. The boys went fishing for a bit.

Anakin took my picture on our way back to the room.

Then we went to Coronado Springs to the Pepper Market for supper. I didn't take pictures because we got the exact same thing we did when we stayed there. I shared the fajita with Goofy, Grumpy had the chicken quesadilla, and Anakin had pizza. For dessert they headed over to Cafe Rix for gelato! The server said they could bring it over to the PM and they did. Grumpy had some kind of chocolate brownie gelato and Anakin had cookies and cream. I had strawberry shortcake at the PM.

After eating, we headed over to Panchitos for Anakin to pin trade.

I checked the 35% on Deluxe, it's a FL resident offer between June 3 and Aug 13, so that won't help. I'm sure something will come up for you in the near future!

I was soo worried about Anakin! He was sitting upright, it got dark, and then I saw him slumped over. I was afraid that meeting up with us over stimulated him. I was glad that it was just because he didn't like the dark and nothing was wrong. (I don't like the dark either!)

DH even thought that it felt like a longer tour of SM as well. And the other family did keep him company. It was a first that DS wanted to stick with mommy and not daddy. I think DS and DD were both curious about Anakin and wanted to get to know him a little better.

I've seen the hula hoops at Cosmic Rays before - once or twice, but you are right, it is very rare. I'm so glad JJ was able to do that.

I agree, it's WAY too dark on the TTA when you go into Space Mountain. It even makes me feel uncomfortable being in that darkness. I wish they would do something there. Put some glow in the dark paint on the walls and draw some aliens.

As we were walking to Cosmic Rays there were 2 girls ahead of us who said they wanted to go to Cosmic Rays to do the Hula Hoops.

There is lighted scene of the exit of Space Mountain, off to the left and at the bottom at one point. But you can only see it if you are looking down. I didn't think to get out my cell phone for light.

We'd love to meet up again next year! Unless we get some super pixie dust and get another trip this year - which I don't see happening .... but who knows!

What?! No mermaid, lol. Between pirate swords, lightsabors, or Duffys (or is plural Duffies?) Anakin always has something he wants to bring for the day.

The general grievous light sabor and the Bobofet gun are bulky and not my favorites to lug around all day.

I'm so glad things worked out on Wednesday to see both DIS families! Thursday and Friday, Anakin wasn't very cooperative about going to parks. He had a one track mind, and that was swimming!

On Wednesday evening, after supper at the Pepper Market, Anakin and I were dropped off at Pop Century. Grumpy and Goofy went to the Bass Pro Shop. I took Anakin swimming. The resort information we were given at check-in said that the lifeguards were on duty until 10pm. But they actually went off duty at 9. Anakin was not happy when I made him get out of the computer pool, and walk over to the baby pool at the Hippy Dippy pool.

He ended up having a wonderful time there. He met some children. At first he played super here sharks with a boy around his age. He left, and Anakin was left playing with 2 girls. At first they played that he was a shark and he was suppose to get them. He liked that game. The girls bossed him around. He would play with them doing what they said, but then he would stop. Swim under water and totally ignore their presence. Then he'd pick up where he was and play with them again.

They changed the play to Anakin being King Triton and the girls were Ariel and her sister. He was not into this game and spent much of his time sitting on the side of the pool with his arms crossed and a stern look on his face.

Just before 10pm I told him it was time to leave and he got up right away to go. He said he didn't like their new game.

We got back to the room and Grumpy was in there. Goofy was out looking for us. He came back in the room about 10 minutes later. We must have zigged while he zagged.

On Thursday, we had an ADR for Le Cellier. We have never eaten there. I have only ever been able to get ADRs twice for this restaurant. The most recent was scored a day before we checked in! The ADR was for 2:15pm.

We got Anakin ready, and he was fussing about going to the AK. He complained he didn't want to go to hot AK. We ended up at Epcot and spent our entire time in the Land. We ate breakfast, rode soarin', and Living with the Land. He wanted to go home, but decided to ride Nemo. After Nemo, he was done. I really wanted to eat at Le Cellier but he was nearing melt down mode over the heat.

We headed back to the car. Got back to the room, and he took a nap. He hasn't had a nap in years! After his nap we ate at the food court, then he went swimming. We called it an early night and he was in sleeping before we knew it.

Friday was check out day. My hope was to get up early. Pack the car and head to SWW. We were going to meet up with slunderwood and have the boys entertain each other while in line for the Star Wars characters. That didn't work out for either of us as hoped.

For me, it was a matter of Anakin continuing with that one track mind of swimming. He thought he would see those kids from the night before. I told him they are probably at a park and not in the pool. Nothing we did sidetracked him from checking. They weren't there, but he wanted to swim and not go to SWW. I told him that Luke would only be there today. But he was stuck on swimming.

We were at the Computer pool by 9am. He met more kids and played with them. None of the kids seemed to notice or mind us hovering nearby. Those children were older than he, but they did not know how to swim. That was good for us because it kept them all in the shallow water! He swam until 10:30.

We went back to the room, changed around, got everything else in the car, and went to eat at Everything Pop.

This time at the food court we were all in a different line to order. Anakin's food was ready way before mine or my husband's. Anakin was starting to show signs of becoming anxious. He bagan pattern walking. There is a star on the floor and he kept walking along the pattern. I kept bringing him back to me and asking him to stay with me and not walk on the star. I was afraid he would bump into someone tray and knock their stuff over or get hurt.

There were 2 managers there who he had traded pins with earlier. They tried talking to him but he kept leaving and walking that star. I asked if they'd mind holding my tray and I got him in the stroller and let him start eating. They stood talking to me and the one said her friend's child has autism and she understood.

He was still a bit anxious til we paid and got seated. Everything was going great, until PLOP! He fell off his chair and hit his head. He was a little stunned as were we, because he was just sitting nicely and fell over. I went over to the manager and asked if we could get some ice for him. She asked if he needed a doctor or anything. He didn't. We applied ice and he ate the rest of his food.

We went home and I kept an eye on him the rest of the day on Friday. He laid around much of the day. When he wasn't laying on the couch he was building a new Pirates of the Carribbean Lego he got with his VIP points at the Lego store on Thursday night.

Yesterday he was back to his normal active self! He did some school work, swam, and played legos.

Journey into imagination actually sounds interesting the way you described it... We've never done most of the rides in Epcot. Until I joined Dis we really didn't "get" Epcot and we thought there was nothing to do there... How wrong were we?

I love the Yoda lego figure!

Reading your pool evening with kids not being supervised. That really annoys me both for the childs safety and the other guests. We found that in Pecos Bill last year there was kids running around and no parents anywhere near. Two little girls were playing chase around the food area and my drink nearly landed on one of them! I love kids but when you're somewhere like that i think it's important for parents to keep and eye on their kids.

Pepper Market chicken not being cooked properly doesn't sound good!
