Ok, probably a dumb question, but can someone tell me exactly what Disney Dollars are and what all they can be used for? Theme park admission? Dining? Resorts?

Thanks!

Disney Dollars are money that you can purchase to spend at the parks, Disney Stores, etc. One US dollar equals one Disney dollar. They come in $1, $5, and $10 and feature pictures of characters on them. They are fun to have and spend, especially for kids. Some packages offer Disney dollars as one of the perks.

Disney Dollars are just Disney currancy. They have character faces on them and they are a 1 to 1 exchange. So $50 US dollars equal $50 Disney Dollars. They work like real money anywhere in WDW of DL or any Disney Store. That includes the shops, dining ect!

Thanks for the responses! This helps.

I went to ebay and looked, but the ones that came up looked as if they were collector's items and not spendable cash type.

They change every so often. They can be spent, but we may keep some this time. At least one of each.

Yes, we accept Disney Dollars for payment at DTD. Just about any place that is owned by Disney will take them. You can buy & use them at the Disney Stores currently, but I am not sure for how much longer, with the sale to Children's Place pending.

To my knowledge, they can be spent just about anywhere on Disney property except maybe some of the cash only vending carts. I'm ALMOST positive that anywhere in DTD accepts them.

Yes, they can be used pretty much anywhere on Disney Property that is owned/run by Disney.

I've never had a problem using them at the vendor carts either. :)

I have used them everywhere on Disney property even the carts without a problem!

you can definitely use DDs at DTD. We've used them to buy movie tickets before.

you can also use them at the Character Warehouse/Character Premiere outlet store at Belz!

you can pay your room charge with them, even pay for the room if you're so inclined. This includes Swan/Dolphin.

When you pay with DDs your change will be in regular US currency.

you can use them at the Disney Stores too. We love using DDs. Makes you feel like you're not really spending your own money!

All of the Disney stores around here closed. Where can I get them?

I don't even see any on ebay that aren't collector's/mint.

I would be careful about buying them on e-bay. No need to spend extra since you can get them dollar for dollar!

I was actually hoping to find them for a little less than dollar for dollar on ebay, but.....no such luck!

Thanks for the heads up!

Since they are dollar for dollar, and no Serial number that they could be replaced easily if lost I didn't buy them before. This year my kids got them for birthdays and holidays. They will have their own money for our trip in November and weren't able to spend it anywhere else.

I buy then for the kids too. The only reason I get them for myself is so I won't spend the money I have saved up for the trip. Regular money is too easy to dip into!

All of our nieces and nephews will be traveling to WDW in early 2005, so we'll be giving Disney dollars to all of them as Christmas gifts. Should make shopping very easy this year. Our own kids like having a few Disney dollars of their own to spend each trip. ::MinnieMo
