How can I use Dis$$$ on the cruise? I know everything goes on KTTW card- Can I use DD to put money toward my stateroom credit??

Disney Dollars can be used to pre-pay or post-pay charges to your stateroom account. Just take them to Guest Services.

Last year we put about 1300.00 on our account in Disney Dollars, we had a very expensive excursion and then of course drinks and stuff. I had taken my paycheck for months (hey I'm only a part time preschool teacher we don't earn much) and bought Disney dollars with it so I could not blow it on other things, Every few days we would bring down another 500.00 or so to put on the account- granted the highest denomination is ten's so it was a lot of counting but on the third time paying the CM said... "ok are you printing these up in your stateroom?"... so far I only have socked away 500.00 for this year but we still have time.

We've been saving our Disney Dollars too. It really helps with the bill!!

Buying DD's is the only way I can truly save effectively for our cruise expenses, we run up a big bill each time- at least 1000.00 usually closer to 2000.00 and if I was to try to put money in the bank I would just spend it and say to myself I will put it away next week. This way if I just buy the DD's I can't spend themanywhere but the disney store , the cruise or Disney so I am safe to save.. I do wish they would get bigger denomanations though.. I feel like a drug smuggler going on board with 1300.00 in ten dollar increments............

Cheapmom, tell me about how upromise works. I know it has something to do with saving for college. My son is going to be a junior this year, so I definitely need to get a plan.

I am currently paying my DD(9yrs old) her allowance in Disney Dollars too! She can use hers towards her souveniers on board/and at CC plus arcade expenses etc. Every day we will take her down and let her pay off her own charges... I plan on rewarding her good grades with Disdol too, this could get expensive, but what an incentive. Ahhh, bribery works so well

I also buy Disney Dollars each payday - I also encourage family members to give them to my DS's for birthday gifts. I love the fact that I can't spend them anywhere except the Disney store around here and I hate going to the mall so that shouldn't happen anytime soon. Some people might think that it isn't smart but I love to see how much I have been able to buy and see how high the pile of Disney dollars is getting!
