I was wondering if anyone knew anything about older Disney Dollars. I recently found some $1 ones in pretty good condition from 1989. I looked on ebay and saw that people were selling these for anywhere from $10-$70. Is there anyway to tell whether the ones I have are worth anything.

Thanks!

Collectors can be very picky about the items that they collect. Any wrinkle, crease, tear or smudge will take away from the value of that piece of paper. But ultimately, it is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I would guess that those $70 Disney Dollars were in pristine condition.

There might be a place fairly local to you that can tell you what the value is. pp was correct in saying folks want stuff like that in great condition. if there is a coin shop close to you you may want to invest in plastic sleeves for them (heck maybe they can find out what the values are it might be interesting to them) never hurts to ask.

I still have mine! from 3 trips I actually just framed them and they are in my dis collection! saving them for at least 10 more yrs then I will decide what to do with em!

Someone gave DD a framed set of Disney dollars dated the year she was born. I thought it was such a cute idea I decided to put together a similar collection for DS.

Unfortunately it seems Disney Dollars from the year DS was born are a high demand item for collectors. Let's just say he will not be getting any Disney dollars from that year, much less a framed set.

The point being that in addition to condition being important (and it is huge) I quickly discovered date also REALLY matters.

Honestly I'd keep an eye on e-bay prices for awhile as that will probably give you a pretty good idea of what people are willing to pay.
