Disney Dollars

I have a question regarding Disney Dollars. If you hand them a 10.00 Disney Dollar...and are due back change...what do they give you as change, Disney money, or actual cash? Also, I heard that several places in Downtown Disney do not take Disney Dollars? Is that true?

I bought my kids 100.00 each in Disney Dollars (cuz I thought they were cute dollars) and now I'm afraid I shouldn't have put their total allowance in Disney Dollars.

I have heard rumors that they were doing away with Disney dollars. Anyone know if this is true? We are not going for another 5 years but I wanted to continue to buy some throughout the years to help save for the trip but wanted to make sure I could still use them when we finally go back.

They're a great money maker for Disney, since many people keep some as souvenirs.

We have gotten the charcters to sign the money with the corresponding picture on it.

It has been my experience that when I have paid with Disney Dollars and am in need of change I've asked that if they have any Disney Dollars in their drawer could I please have my change that way. More often than not I would receive most of my change in Disney Dollars if not all of it.

It's been my experience that when I request good old fashion American dollars I am given regular currency. When I ask for Disney Dollars I am given Disney Dollars (most of the time). It just depends.
Just ask for what you want.
I have $60.00 (DISNEY) ready to spend for my next trip. If I have any left over, I save it for the the following trip.

I think you can buy them at The Disney Stores, but someone please confirm that because I am not sure. We don't have a Disney Store in our area so it would be great if I could get them online.

You can get them in most Disney Stores. Just bought them for my nephews, for Halloween, instead of candy. They are are going for the first time when I run the half marathon.
