Disney Dollars

I was wondering where I can use the Disney Dollars in WDW. Are they accepted everywhere? Some of my family members and friends are planning on buying some for me for my bridal shower and I just wanted to be sure that I can use them everywhere. Also, can I use them for purchasing my passes at the Disney Store prior to going to WDW?

First of all, congratulations on your upcoming wedding and trip to WDW!
I have used Disney Dollars pretty much everywhere in WDW, including paying for parking. I would be surprised if anyone had a problem using them for pretty much anything on property - except for Downtown Disney, where so many of the vendors are actually not owned by Disney.

About the passes - I don't know. I do hope someone has an answer for you and again, enjoy your trip.

I too have used Disney Dollars almost everywhere. Even Downtown Disney...of course we only bought something at The World of Disney.

I know you can spend Disney Dollars at the Disney Store so I would think that you could buy your passes there with them.

Congratulations on your wedding and Disney Honeymoon!! My DH & I went there on our Honeymoon 15 years ago!!! It was wonderful!!

I would think so. You can purchase Disney Dollars at TDS, so why not pay for your passes using the Dollars? I have to think - YES!

Thank you for all of the well wishes and the responses. I told my friend when she buys the Disney Dollars to just make sure that we can buy the passes with them also. I will let you know what happens.

I can't remember not being able to use them anywhere. In '99 we also got some on our wedding day as we were going to WDW for our honeymoon. Have a great one.

We also went to WDW for my Dad's retirement. He took my sisters and me and all our families for a week and paid for everything. (which was not necessary) We tried to tell him that when people retire, they don't give others gifts. He wouldn't listen. Best trip of my life. As an added bonus, my husband used to be so anti-disney. Although he had never been there, he said we would never take a vacation there. Under my breath I would always reply with That's what you think. Anyways once my parents paid for everything, he was like why not. While we were there, he was like can we come again next year. I was so excited, although we can only afford every other year!!!

You can use Disney Dollars almost anywhere at WDW - for food, souveniers, park passes, hotel bills, anything. They are accepted just like cash at any Disney-owned store, park, restaurant, resort, or cart at WDW, and are accepted at the Disney Store.

Some of the non-Disney places accept DD$ as well. I don;t know all of them, but I do know that the DTD McDonalds accepts them and the AMC Theatre does not.
