Disney Dollars question

We received a large amount of disney dollars for Christmas gifts this year. Yeah! Just wondering if anyone has ever used disney dollars to payoff the balance of a room reservation at check in?

i believe you can. i think disney dollars for any purchased in wdw. i could be wrong though.

You can do that. In WDW, Disney dollars are the same as regular currency!

I have a question regarding Disney Dollars as well - Can they be used in Downtown Disney/Marketplace, etc? For example Wolfgang Puck's or the AMC Theatres? Any info would be much appreciated, Thanks!

I'm gonna say no because I couldn't use my Disney dollars at Planet Hollywood. I haven't specifically been to Wolfgang Puck's but would guess it is similar to PH. I was able to use them at the Disney-owned stores of course.

Disney dollars work at the parks, resorts, counter service, carts and resturants, water parks and PI just like travelers checks, no problems at all. I am not sure about DTD we only used them at Disney owned places.

You cannot use Disney Dollars for Pucks or the AMC Theatres. They also cannot be used for Cirque, House of Blues, Bongos, or any other restaurant or store not owned by Disney.

We just got back on Christmas Eve. I used Disney Dollars for everything, I used it on our hotel balance (Pop Century), in all the parks and at the stores at DTD. I used this instead of cash.
