Can you still purchase Disney Dollars at the Disney Stores?

Some Disney stores have the old ones left in stock - but they will not be getting any new stock until after May 1 - according to the store manager here in Albuquerque. I was able to get some old stuff here, which was a relief since we're going next week!

Tried to purchase @ local store last Sunday, they said they're being redesigned and will be available late May, early June at the latest.

Our Disney Store was out of them too but they said they should get them by early May. I wonder what the new designs will look like?

They are supposed to be themed for the DL 50th celebration.

I remember reading in late-'04 / very early-'05 that new Dollars had been released to tie-in with the forthcoming Chicken Little film. After that announcement, the film was pushed-back from June '05 to December '05. A reasonable theory might be that they pulled the plug on the Chicken Little DDs due to the film release change, but didn't have a replacement immediately available.

We were hoping to get some as rewards for our kiddies in advance of our May trip. Guess Disney missed the boat on that one.
