hi all!! (not sure this is the right place to post. mods, please feel free to move)

my aunt and uncle and their three kids (10, 8, and 6) are going down in 3 weeks. they are staying at WL in a cabin...LUCKYYYY!!!

i was thinking it would be nice to send them down with some disney dollars to spend at a restaurant. or maybe have them waiting for them when they arrive.

what's the best way to set them up for a dinner?? (can i make an ADR for them?? how can i pay for it??)

THANKS!!

hmmmmmm. i would say make the ADR and then give them disney dollars to pay for it. not sure if you could "pre-pay"???

The only way to get Disney dollars now is to order them straight from Disney. There is a $14.95 fee. The cheapest thing to do would be to get them a gift card from the Disney store. I'm not sure if you could prepay their meal.

can a disney gift card be used at a restaurant? if so i will do that. dh works a couple blocks from the disney store in manhattan and he can pick it up for me!

thoughts on what restaurant would be good??? kids are 10, 8, and 6 and LOADS of fun!!

DD and I really enjoyed the 1900 Park Faire dinner at the Grand Floridian....it's a buffet. Characters are Cindy & her prince, and the step mother and step-sisters.....and they were a HOOT.

Chef Mickey is always a big hit for seeing the Fab 5. Of course if you want all the princesses then you can't go wrong with the Castle or breakfast at Akershus in Norway at Epcot!

I think it's a great idea, but I wonder about 2 things.
1. With them going in 3 weeks and with that being Thanksgiving week, I'm not sure what ADRs would be available at this point.
2. If I didn't know their touring schedule in advance, I wouldn't make ADRs not knowing where they'd be on what day. (e.g., making an ADR at an MK resport if they're going to be in AK all day)

Dining reservations might be kind of tight, but you can pre-pay for meals at the dinner shows, Hoop-De-Doo Review, Polynesian Luau, Mickey's Backyard BBQ. That is, if you can get a reservation

as far as messing up touring plans, they aren't as into disney as we are so i can pick anywhere. i will call to see that kind of adrs are availabe

You could just give them a gift card and then let them decide how/where to use it. They can be used just about anywhere that accepts credit cards. At least, that's my understanding. You can order them online with free shipping from http://www.disneygiftcard.com/cards/ They have a really neat assortment!:goodvibes

oh, i know i could just give them a card. but i would like to have them go out to eat someplace neat. knowing them they would use it for something "smart" instead of trying something new...kwim?
