disney dollar question

I know this has been addressed before, buT----------
can you use Disney Dollars on the cruise- dd's have Disney Dollars that they have accumulated over time. Will they be able to spend them on the ship or will we just HAVE to go WDW to spend them?

Other than tipping room service and final tips, cash isn't used anywhere on the ship. I would use the DD at WDW first. We didn't and my daughter is stuck with about 15 DD - at least we can save them for our next trip or use them at the Disney Store.

She could hold onto them until your upcoming cruise... maybe pick something out onboard and then you can apply them to pay that amount on your room charge. You can use DD to pay at guest services on the ship. I hope to do a 7 day on the magic someday.. but looking forward to my 2nd 4 day on the Wonder!<G><

Good point! I think I'd take her to guest services to hand them over herself as a lesson in finance. We were playing "store" the other day and when I told her that she owed $9.04 for what she had selected, she told me she didn't have more than 5 cents, but she was OK because she'd just use her credit card! That's when I realized that I use a credit card to pay for just about everything when we're out, but she never sees the company take the money from the bank to pay in full each month! Weren't times easier when it was just cold, hard cash and maybe a checking account to explain and teach!

My kids used DD on our last cruise. They would buy what they wanted on their KTTW card and then hand the DD over to me so that I could apply them to our room at guest services. It worked out very well. For us, it was a much better way to get the kids to save money for vacation. If they have cash in hand at any given time, they'll find something to spend it on. With DD, they couldn't spend it so easily.
