Welcome to my first trip report. That's right we are Orlando virgins. Never taken as kids we thought we would give it a try. Who are we, we here you ask?

I'm Andy I do all the research, trip planing and booking. I'm 41 from Stoke on Trent and work in the theatre industry currently spending my 6th year on tour with a ballet company. But have worked for two UK theme parks - American Adventure which was based in Derbyshire as there show manager and also nearly 4 years at Alton Towers Resort as the entertainments assistant production manager.

My partner Julie (49) works for the NHS as a staff nurse and knows what she likes and doesn't take any part of the planning. She likes to turn up and it to happen. She had a little look at things before we went, but generally wanted to see it first hand when we got there.

Saturday 27th September - Travel To Airport

We decided this year to stay over at the airport so we don't have to rush on the Sunday morning, we don't live that far but still an added hassle we don't need. After a visit to Julies family in Manchester we end up at Manchester Airport booking into the Blewleys Hotel. They were offering a deal for 15 nights car parking, breakfast and 1 night accommodation.

The check in was quick, booked dinner for that night, sorted the car and morning shuttle and up to the room. The room was very clean, comfy and well decorated.

We booked dinner for 7.30pm but by 6.45 we couldnt wait no longer. We goes down and see if we can bring it forward. Phew thankfully they could and were seated quite quickly.

The menu was very mixed and with that in mind I ordered the Bell Pepper and Tomato Soup, Battered Pollock with Chunky Chips, Julie, Pate, and the Baked Fish on Fondant Potato.

Soup was tasty served with hot bread, the Pollock had a light batter but needed some form of seasoning either on the fish or batter. The Chunky Chips are not normally my favourite but tonight they were fantastic, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

Julie's Pate was tasty but ratio to the bread let it down, not that there wasn't enough bread, just there was too much pate. Her fish was soft and flaky and tasted nice.

As we were on holiday we of course had puddings. Me the chocolate Brownie and Julie the Lemon Crème Brulee with a lemon Biscuit. The brownie was dry and needed cream rather than the ice cream, and the Brulee could have done without the lemon and the lemon Biscuit could have been better.

After dinner we returned to the room to watch tv

Sunday 28th September - Flying to Orlando

We woke early as we didn't want to rush. Dressed and was down to breakfast, which was empty. Well it was about 6am.

The breakfast was a buffet and had a slight Irish fare. Lots of choice and would have been well worth the £10 if we had to pay it.

Dropped the keys off to our car to the front desk and boarded the shuttle bus to the airport terminal 2.

Check in was unusual for virgin, jostling for the shortest queue. We managed to get stuck behind a problem couple who apparently thought there company had booked the return flights but not according to Virgin. Once this was sorted we were checked in fast. My bag 16kg and Julie's 17kg plenty of space for the return.

After we got rid of our bags we went outside to let Julie have one last cigarette before going through security. Through security and Julie cleared first time (makes a change) me, I get my hand luggage flagged up and swabbed for drugs, then let go.

Of course the next spot was Nero for coffee. Julie lives for her tea and coffee. My friend Lisa and Dave, who were also flying over and back on the same flight found us and joined us for one and before soon we were on our way to Gate 300

Never been so far up, and then I realised it was another first, cause we had to get a bus to the airplane.

On the airplane we were sat near the back, just 2 seats together on the left side of the plane. Plenty of room, and before long we were taxing to take-off.

Flight was mainly calm and only a bit of turbulence in places. Food was the normal airline fare which I wasn't bothered about as I was still full from breakfast. Half way through we got a bit of a shock when they were giving out Fab lollies. Not had one of these since I was about 8. Nice surprise. Later afternoon tea was served, small sandwich, crisps and instead of the scone we got a chocolate caramel shortbread.

Soon after we landed safely and onwards to customs and immigrations.

Well how can I put this politely - A Joke. Because of the new automatic system we talked the young lady guard into letting us through to use the new machines. This was a complete waste of time as when we had queued to do it, it was only done again moments after by a real human being. This took forever and there was plenty of raised voices. It took us longer to get into Orlando than it did to get into New York shortly after 9/11

Anyway it was done, outside for a quick cigarette for Julie and on our way to join Disney Magical Express. We were seen quickly and shown to our motorcoach and soon after we were on our way.

Dropping off at each of the All Star Resorts in turn we were the last stop but finally here

Seeing as it took an age to get through security at the airport the car hire centre was closed.

Check in was easy. Magic Bands sorted, and off we went to the room. The room was easy to find after Julie had the map the right way round. Used the Magic Band to open door both worked first time.

After we quickly unpacked, we caught the Bus over to Hollywood Studios, quick photo then used our fastpass for Fantasmic.

After Fantasmic we found a smoking area and felt a drip on our head. We thought nah. Started walking back to the exit then the heavens opened. Ive never seen so much water come out of the sky in such a small time. We were soaked. Soaked to the skin soaked. By now we only half way to the exit. So put a little spurt on as everyone was hiding under cover. We got to the resort bus and managed to get onto the first one. But then the AC hit us. God it was cold. It was the longest ride of our life. Back to the resort we hotfooted it to our room, put our kettle on and showered to get warm

Awoke at 2am then again at 4am, felt refreshed so started my trip notes. Waited for Julie to wake, which was around 5am, so put the kettle on and made her a tea.

As I said before Julie cant function without tea and coffee and so we have brought with us a kettle and English tea and coffee.

I also forgot to note on my last days report that I did do the gentlemanly thing last night, got dried and went back to the cafe and bought the rapid refill mugs, bought milk for the morning, and some treats. Charged to the magic bands and bought them back to the room.

SO back to today,

We spoke to reception about ways to dial Alamo. But they said they wouldn't / couldn't help as they were not connected to them

After several tries from my mobile I got some change and used the payphone to try and call them. I then found the little magic button on the phone that connects you for free direct to them. Result.

Very helpful lady answered and booked us on a pick up shuttle, which was in about 20 mins. So we went to the cafe grabbed a coffee and cinnamon roll. We could have shared but of course we didnt

Right on time there was Alamo to pick us up. Along with 2 other couples we were taken to the Car Care Centre close to Magic Kingdom Car Park. Once dropped I hurried inside to beat the others to the desk. Paperwork completed with ease, bit of up-selling for a bigger car and sat-nav, we were given the keys to a silver Chrysler Sonic.

Once in (having had Julie trying to get in the passenger side) we steadily found our way to Epcot's parking lot, made a note of the car and location of where its parked, and we were off to the park.

Once past security bag check we used our magic bands to gain entry, grabbed the park map and a couple of photopass pictures then onto find the very well hidden smoking areas

We had 3 fast pass set up but my phone showed different to what I had noted down. So off to guest services to sort it out. They confirmed that I had the information right and off we go.

First ever Disney Ride was Spaceship Earth, something nice and gentle to start.

Loved the on-ride video and the ability of sending video postcards at the end of the ride

Bit of time to kill before our next ride so of course another PP picture on route to the smoking area.

Time came and we were so glad of the fast pass as it was an 80min wait. Great feeling passing all them people.

Shortly onto the design stage. This was our car we designed.

This is a fantastic ride which was put on our to do again. Our ride photo

And again after the ride there are other photo chances for you like

Next Mission Space (gentle side)

This ride was good fun but the sensation didn't really get on with me and I did feel a little sick afterwards.

Next was lunch time, onwards to the Electric Piano, I had cheese and bacon burger and fries and diet coke, Julie had the chicken Caesars salad and of course a coffee. Food was fine and lovely to sit down and watch the world go by.

Next we had arranged to meet a friend of mine. Brian lives about 2 miles from my home in Stoke, but due to our busy lives we don't get chance to see each other for catch ups. He was on holiday and coming to the end of his and only had another day in the park. Lovely to catch up all be it brief and we both found it funny to be seeing each other thousands of miles from home.

We thought that once we had finished chatting that we would go for a ride on the monorail only to find out it only went to the Ticket and Transport Centre. But while we were there we thought what the hell lets go to Magic Kingdom. We had two choices either by ferry or monorail. We opted for the first and headed off to get it.

Seeing our first glimpse of Magic Kingdom

Then seeing Space Mountain

We got into the Magic Kingdom and noticed that people were lining the street, looked at the time and it was close to parade time. We quickly found a spot and waited.

The Parade was amazing. As you see from the pictures the sky do look a bit grey, and once the parade had passed it hit us with another downpour. We took shelter in the Emporium while we put our ponchos on. Bumping into my friends Lisa and Dave who also was taking shelter. Quick chat and off to brave the weather again. We exited the shop to find it had gone off but the sky was still grey. Had a few more pictures taken

It was to hot in the ponchos so we braved the weather and had another picture done.

We decide seeing there is a break in the weather we will make our way back to the car. But once back the heavens opened once more. We made our way back slowly to the resort having issues with steaming up on the outside of the car due to the humidity. We have never had that issue in the UK.

While back at the resort we looked at the weather and seemed the rain was in for the night. We thought we would try and find a shop and get some supply's in.

We were on our way to find Walmart but due to the weather, the window issues and my bad navigational skills we gave up and found Walgreen.

We loved it. Bought a massive bottle of water for the kettle, 24 small bottles of water for us to put in the fridge, milk, crisps, snacks and 2 umbrellas, we slowly managed to find our way back to the resort and unloaded the car.

Next was time to eat so back to the cafe. Not really that much choice so we settled for a cheese pizza. Julie took the drinks back to the room while I waited for the pizza. Again we over did the size and ordered large.

It was too much we only managed a couple of slices. It was huge and thick, It was lovely though. We admitted defeat. Will we ever learn. Showered and both in bed by midnight.

I am getting slightly better and woke at 5.30am, so put the kettle on, and did my emails, social media and trip reports.

Julie woke to the smell of the tea brewing.

Again my My Disney Experience App is showing really strange things today with 4 rides chosen, but not for both of us and the time in between me and Julie riding a ride is about 2 hours.

So we caught the resort bus to Animal Kingdom

Off to guest services when we got there who didn't believe me at first until they logged into my account. Then also showed that on my phone it was again different. They were shocked and stunned and thanked us for bringing to there attention, printed out a list of our fast passes and we were let into the park after a PP picture of course

We had decided to do a character breakfast but was unsure as what it would be like as we didn't have any kids. We also wanted to do one that didn't really have Mickey. We are not big Mickey fans so plumbed for Tusker House.

So glad we did. We arrived and checked in and told there would be a wait for about 10min. We had our PP picture taken while we waited.

Soon after we were shown through to a rather small area towards the back and very quiet. Coffee and juice were served and told how everything worked. Told us we had about 15 mins before our "friends" would be with us.

I started with the usual

Mickey waffles, bacon, potatoes, sausage and wedges. Followed by more of the same, then our friends arrived. Interaction was good, we got Mickey

Daisy Duck

and Donald Duck

So glad we did this. Food was nice, good range, could have been warmer, but this might be because of the walk back to our table and the A/C. But you couldn't fault the range.

We left feeling nice and full, and still had a good 30mins till our first fast pass.

First was Kilimanjaro Safaris. Fantastic ride seeing all the same kinda animals we get at home in our parks.

Next is a big one for me - Expedition Everest. This would be my first big roller coaster for many years. What didn't help was that the ride was about to go out of the station, and broke down. Didn't do my nerves any good. Once on the ride, I did enjoy it.

Next we had fast passes to Dinosaur so a nice gentle walk round the park to get there with some PP pictures on the way

Then we noticed that King Louie and Baloo from Jungle Book were out

So it would be rude not to meet them.
A quick water stop before our Fast Pass time was due and it just started raining when we went in. Dinosaur was a fun, funny but very rough.

When we came out it had stopped raining so decided to go round the corner to see Finding Nemo The Musical. Only had a small queue to wait and about 30mins in the shade.

Nice show with some great vocals and nice staging.

Again as we exited the theatre the rain came down so out come our new umbrellas. Didnt get as wet this time. But we had had enough and went to catch the resort bus.

Again once at the resort Julie wanted to have a cigarette so braved it in the rain while I got the drinks.

We check the weather and it says its going to rain for the rest of the day / night. We decide we will find somewhere undercover. We plumb for the Outlet Mall. Its down on the list to do so may as well do it now. There are shops we usually go in and plenty we pass on. Its the same as the one we have visited in Las Vegas with mostly the same shops. I buy new Sketchers, Cap from Lids, And Julie bought some stuff too from Crocs and some fudge which was lush.

The car park was rammed, think everyone had the same idea but the mall seemed empty.

Thought we would eat while we were out so searched the sat-nav with what was around. Outback Steakhouse popped up round the corner. This was one I'd heard of but never been. So that's where we headed.

Food was fantastic, so was the service, talked into an Onion Bloom, which is pieces of onion deep fried in a spicy batter. Declined the house bread this time. We both had the sirloin steak, Julie had it with shrimps, mine was oak smoked, and came with garlic mash and fries, Julies came with garlic mash and asparagus. Endless drinks refilled, and again had to decline the desert.

After this we were good for nothing so back to the resort unloaded the car, caught up on internet stuff and made plans for the morning.

I love reading the UK reports.

First time for a comment on one though (I'm usually a lurker on most reports), I just had to comment on the Expedition Everest photo. The look on your face, Andy, priceless:rotfl2:

A mix of terror:scared1: and sheer joy:laughing:

Great photos so far.

You are so right, some of the other roller coaster pictures are priceless

Every trip me and Julie take we always have a visit to a local attraction we feel we should see (Las Vegas - Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon) Here is no exception, both of us are not really into space but we wanted a day away from the parks and we had been told it was a good day out.

We had our usual breakfast coffee and a pastry and we were on our way. After a couple of bad turns we get there and the car park is looking quite empty. Now as I've said my knowledge of the space program is very limited.

The first thing we are advised to do is board a bus to start the tour. Which is what we did.

This took us close to the main buildings you would want to see

Excuse the quality of the picture I was taking them through glass.

We also passed a monster tracked vehicle which took the shuttles and rockets to the launch pads.

There was a lot of information to take in and our guide was very well informed. There was also lots of codes and abbreviations.

Its a shame you are not able to get off and get closer but I do understand the risk involved.

They then drop us back to the Apollo / Saturn 5 Experience. Very well done its as if you were really there, with a carbon copy of the command centre.

You then come face to face to the actual rocket. I cant make you understand how big this was.

There was other various pods and vehicles

Onwards to lunch, corn dogs were on the menu and also on my bucket list so we just had to try. Although they were not fresh I would like to try them again.

Onwards to what was to be the highlight of the day, the new experience of the Atlantis.

I didnt realise that this was the proper name for the space shuttle, we had a great couple of video presentations then it hit me, they bled through a gauze to this

The actual Space Shuttle.

Such a fitting resting place for it. Such a great way of revealing it. But after plenty of pictures we were excuse the pun - Spaced Out !

On the way to the Space Centre we did see signs to the Florida Mall. Now this houses one thing that I needed - The M & M store. So we set the sat-nav and off we went.

The reason for going is not for chocolate (you can get that anywhere and cheaper) I just wanted to visit which was for me and Julie the final one in the group. We have done Las Vegas, London and New York and this would be completing the set. I wanted to buy something with the Orlando name on it but alas there was nothing apart from a couple of children's T shirts. So we left.

We looked at the time and the weather and thought we would start the Epcot Food and Wine Festival so set the Sat-Nav and off we went. As Julie was driving it would be just for food.

We parked and got through security. Of course a PP picture

First working Anti clockwise round we started with
Hawaii - Kalua Pork Slider
Puerto Rico - Carne Guisada con Arroz Blanco - slow braised beef with rice
Refreshment Port - Croissant Doughnut with Cinnamon Sugar
Ireland - Lobster and Seafood Fisherman's Pie
Morocco - Kefta Pocket - minced seasoned beef in a pita pocket, we also had to try for me Sangria and Julie a Baklarva

All very tasty.

The weather was picking up so we decided to stay and watch the night time show. We found our spot over the bridge between UK and France and waited for Illuminations - Reflections of Earth.

Stunning show, glad we stayed as it was turning out to be a lovely evening.

After the show we continued to walk anticlockwise round the lake to our car. Only to stop in Germany for the Milk chocolate and sea salt caramel. The smell of this shop was amazing until the cook burned the popcorn and a mass of black smoke filled the place. But we did then get free samples while we waited.

Onwards back to the car to the resort, very tired and very achy feet.

So today we had a leisurely start. Once woken we went for a walk and a look at Downtown Disney. Took the resort bus and started at the Marketplace in the Christmas Store, there were some really nice pieces. But were worried about getting them back home. Having spoken to a cast member they convinced us that they would pack them well for us.

Working our way round we were ready for lunch and saw the lines at Earl of Sandwich, but thought that's what we wanted.

So glad we went. The lines moved quickly, the staff knew how to work fast. Before you knew it you had your sandwich. Found a spot and took root. We both had the original. Which had roast beef and lots of it.

Onwards to the Disney Store (the largest Disney Store in the World) it is billed as, and they are not wrong. Luckily we hadnt much time and not much money. We will be back. But we did buy a few items and sent them onwards back to the resort.

Quick look into the Left Handed store and bought a present for Julie's Dad a fellow lefty like myself.

Then the best store for me The Lego Store.

Loved Lego as a kid and wished they had shops like this when I was growing up. A friend of mine had a set a month back of the Ghostbusters Car. I so wanted this and it was a lot cheaper here than home, so bought this and also a few sets for Julies nephew.

We noticed the time and hot footed it back to the bus to get to the Grand Floridian Resort for Afternoon Tea. This is also a annual event, every place we go we try and get a scone and tea to see how they serve them. We have done it in New York, Amsterdam, and Las Vegas. Noticed online that they just did tea, scones and you can build your own version. That's exactly what we wanted having had such a large sandwich.

We found it eventually, checked in and got shown to our seats. Given the menu and found it wasn't the same as online. Oh? We spoke to our server who told us that they only did a set menu now not a la carte menu. So left frustrated and slightly peed off. Oh well not to worry.

Onwards to Magic Kingdom slightly early than planned. Doesn't matter we had fast passes booked in case of this.

So headed to Haunted Mansion

Jungle Cruise

Big Thunder Mountain

Then queued up for Pirates of the Caribbean and Country Bears Jamboree

Sorted out our wrist bands for the Halloween Party and off to find a smoking area for Julie. While we were there we saw the boat come round

Then looked down and there was this little fella

Then it was time for food. We looked around and there was plenty of places but with a menu we didnt fancy. Until we found Columbia Harbour House, we both fancied a bit of something different so Julie went to get a table and I went for food. I asked what kind of fish was in the fish platter? The server said battered ! I said fine we will have 2.

After this we wandered over to Tomorrowland

People were already starting to gather for the parade, we decided to head over and get another few rides under our belt. They were Peoplemover, Buzzlightyear Space Ranger Spin, and Tomorrowland Speedway. Then worked our way round the candy stations.

Decided we best find a spot for the Firework Show Halowishes so stood on the Bridge over from Tomorrowland.

Stunning Show as you would expect and thought we best get a better spot for the parade, so found a spot in the curve of the hub behind a bin (nobody can sit or stand in front)

As the crowds followed the parade up Main Street we decide we will have an Ice Cream. We walked into the parlour and they asked how we would be paying, a bit strange to be asked before you order, but they added as we having issues with MagicBand payment. If it doesn't work your ice creams are free.

So we tried it and sure enough it didn't work so free Ice Cream woohoo. I had cookie and cream with hot fudge sauce and Julie had strawberry and chocolate. After this it was about 11.30 so a slow and steady walk back to the bus and off to the resort

Back home we tipped our sweets out on the bed to see who had done better

Mine on the Left, Julie on the Right

I think you won with the candy haul! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Another lazy start. Being here for 2 weeks and no kids means we can take things at our own pace and do things we want to do. Took the resort bus over to Magic Kingdom for a breakfast stop at Main Street Bakery AKA Starbucks

Off course another PP photo

Then onwards to our fast pass rides Its a Small World ride, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor and Space Mountain

Afterwards we made our way back to our resort to get changed as we were off out for the evening at Downtown Disney.

Once changed we caught the bus to Downtown only to realize that I hadnt got the tickets for the La Nouba. So we hot footed it to the box office of Cirque to see if they could retrieve our booking via our photo ID. The box office staff were very helpful and once we had produced the pass ports (which we never go anywhere without) they issued our tickets to us. Quick ciggi for Julie then back round to Paradiso 37 for dinner. Originally we had tried to get into House of Blues but they were fully booked all evening. As we walked passed the place looked dead. But not to worry we were quite happy with our chosen one.

We chose a cocktail of course, Long Island for Julie and Hurricane for me. Starters we shared the mini corn dogs. Chicken burger for me, and beef burger with truffle fries for Julie and of course another round of cocktails.

Lovely food and really good service.

Onwards to the Cirque du Soleil Theatre. We have seen many Cirque shows both touring into London and in Las Vegas.

I thought the show was on the whole very good, more towards the family market. Some of the acts didnt appeal to me (ive never like silk acts) also the high wire act lost the danger element due to amount of safety lines attached to them. The lighting and soundtrack from the live band were also both excelent. A special mention to the clowns. They seem to do more in this show, which gave you more time to get to know there character and really feel the empathy for them. Over all value for money.

On the way back to the resort bus we stopped at Starbuck. Played on the interactive screens, drank our coffee and left.

Today we really didnt have a plan. So first a lay in was in order. On the bucket list was to have a american hot dog from a cart. This is something we never got round to doing in New York when we were there. Now i'd been told that The Boardwalk had such a thing so off we went. We got there managed to park on the over spill car park and started to walk back to the main area. We had a look around and then saw something we didnt want to see. A sign that said Hot Dog Cart Open From 6pm. Rubbish.

We were all deflated so the only thing left to do when we are like this is to shop. I looked for the nearest Walmart and off we went.

We had planned to go earlier in the week for things, but we never made it. So with present shopping in mind we stepped out and into Walmart and straight into Subway. Well we hadnt had a hot dog !

To be honest most of the presents me and Julie had to buy were all eating related to be really honest sweet realated.

We got everything we needed including peanut butter m&m's, milk dudds, cheap Disney Tshirts, american mixed candy bags, more milk, orange crush and root beer soda and as well as other things.

Went to the check out and got stuck behind someone paying via coupon. It took ages. Every item was checked, double checked and then augued over. We were there about 30 mins when we decided enough was enough and swopped to another till.

Finally we were out and back to the resort with the kettle on.

We looked at the plan and noticed that Magic Kingdom was open tonight till 12 midnight then an extra 2 hours for resort guests. The plan was hatched - to stay as long as we could

With fast passes booked off we went. We arrived, through security and of course a PP picture had to be done

With the hotdog still in our mind we headed to Caseys Corner for one. Of course you couldnt get a seat so we did the tourist trick and stand at the bin

Onwards to Peter Pans Flight and then The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

We managed to bag a fast pass for the Electric Parade so we went to find area to check in. Fantastic area to watch from just on the hub in front of the Castle.

Once the parade had finished it was onto the projection show followed by the Wishes firework show.

After the fireworks lots of people headed to the main gates so we went towards Tomorrowland to find the smoking area on route I paused and acted like an american and bought fresh popcorn. I ate while Julie smoked.

We noticed there was no queue for Carousel of Progress followed by Stitch's Great Escape. Both really good rides in totally different ways.

Onwards to find coffee and that ment a trip to our local - Main Street Bakery. By now it was around midnight. Our body was willing but our feet were not so headed out and back to the resort.

This was set out to be our rest day and to do washing. So after a getting up late I collected all my washing and off we went.

The laundry isn't that far from where our room is. Next to the pool and splash kids area, so there is some nice seating areas with shaded areas with brollies for people like me. Everything you need to do your washing is her, washing machine, dryer, powder despenser, even a change machine.

Once everything was in, and on I sat outside (in the shade of course)

My Washing

My View While I Do My Washing

As we were sat there waiting for the washing to finish, I broke the news to Julie that we would be spending the night overnight Monday at another resort. On my plan we were due to do a couple of days at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, which of course included a trip to Hard Rock Cafe (including cocktails) and a trip to see Blue Man Group. The reason of staying over was due to the cocktails, so Julie doesnt need to drive, also the Express Passes inside the theme parks, and the early entry to the Harry Potter bits.

She was very excited although the early start is a bit of a down side but now she knows why she didnt mind.

We also decided we needed a earlyish night so a quick trip to Hollywood Studios.

I get the MDE on my phone and booked some fast passes for the afternoon. Once the washing was delivered back to the room off we went to Hollywood Studios by the resort transport

After a PP picture we are in

First off to Beauty and the Beast

Then we bumped into these two cheeky chaps

Then off to Lights Motors Action Stunt Show

Then I think someone was trying to send us a message

Julie then was dreaming of being in a film

Then off to Muppetvision 3d, followed by our fast pass for Twightlight Tower of Terror

Then the Rock n Rollercoaster

Right food. When we had been planning we loved the look of Sci Fi Dinning. So we walked past and asked if they could fit us in, they said they could in about half an hour. We were like great thats fine and they gave us the usual pager. We went for a ciggi and it went off. Only about 10 mins wait after all.

Great food and service, its very dark which is a bit strange, but once you get used to it, its very different.

Another pp picture then home to early bed

Awoke at 6am to get off to our away stay. On way we picked up more petrol, we tried to put it in as normal, but after 5mins of trying the cashier shouted us to come in and pay first. Well we didnt know !

Once on our way again we found the Royal Pacific Resort, parked and noted where we were parked and went to check in.

Check in was great, lovely friendly staff but they talk to fast for us and missed some of the infomation. We got issued our room keys and got told we would be emailed our room numbers when they were ready. Left our bags and went to get our Express Passes.

The View from the water taxi station at our hotel

Caught the water taxi down to City Walk and then its just a short walk to Universal

Hot footed it through the park through "London" to Diagon Alley

I tried the outdoor ride seats to make sure I fitted, unfortunatly I didnt. Not that this a big worry as im not really a Potter fan. Julie went on the single rider queue to ride the new Escape From Gringotts Bank

While she rode i waited for the dragon to erupt

Julie was soon out and said it was an amazing ride but very short. Would have been nice to be longer. She said she was glad we didnt have to queue for it like most people have.

Next we went to Kings Cross to get the train over to Hogsmead

The train ride was great. Nice touches with the visuals. Then we were there - Hogsmead

Julie went to speak to the driver of the train

Through Hogsmead

On to the other main ride - The Forbidden Journey

This was an amazing ride / experience. Good mix of live sets and projection and a good lenght ride too.

We then thought it was time for breakfast so off to The Three BroomSticks

Julie had the "full english" (rear) and I had the American "English" (front)

After this we worked our way round the park using our passes to bypass the lines on the rest of the rides.

cont.......

So clockwise we went, using our express passes to full advantage

Poseidon's Fury

Lovely attraction with a nice mix of effects used very well

The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad Stunt Show

Lovely stunt show, but only sit in the splash zone as a last resort. We glad we didnt

Next off to Seuss Landing to ride the High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride

Then over to Marvel Super Hero Island to ride Spiderman

Popped over to Toon Lagoon, but looking at most of the people we decided we didnt want to get THAT wet so had a few pictures and moved on

Starting to get tired and achy so back to Hogmead and to the Station to ride the Express back to Universal

Once back at Universal we head to the Blue Man Group box office to get our tickets we had booked at then decided we would upgrade for $20 each to VIP

We headed back to our new hotel to find our room, collect our bags, unpack, shower and change and we head back out. Its now dark and everything looks very different. A few pictures on the way to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner

We arrive and have our usual cocktails, me a Hurricane and Julie a Long Island Ice Tea. Food was ordered and service was great. Food came and only just managed to finish. As usual very good food.

Headed over to check in at the VIP Bluephoria Lounge. So for your $20 you get access to the VIP area bar before and after the show, 2 free drinks or 1 cocktail, a picture of all 3 blue men (preprinted) and a meet and great from 1 Blue Man.

Off up the stairs we go got our wristbands on and order a cocktail of the menu and chat to the lady serving who was very clued up on the history of BMG and knew they had reached the UK twice, once in the West End and once on tour.

We left the bar to head into the theatre, the show was loud, bright, and like any show got the usual mix of old favorites, and all new content. As always a very enjoyable evening. Once it had finished we headed up once more to the VIP area to wait for the main reason we were all there.

Just before the picture was taken I felt this cold slightly wet hand on my head. I had been marked.

Unfortunatly we had still got to go back to pick up our cocktail glasses from Hard Rock. So with a blue hand on my head off we went. Raised a few eyebrows.

With that we go back to our hotel and settle into a good nights sleep.

Loving your report, thanks for takings the time to post and add so many photos. It also contains my favourite phrases, the kettles on:thumbsup2

Sorry for the break in posting, my job takes me all over the place and away from the computer. But back on it today

As we had done both of the big rides of the Harry Potter areas yesterday, we decided to have a little lay in bed. Once up and dressed we deposited our cases with the hotel staff and found a self service breakfast area in the hotel. This was ideal. Plenty of choice, and of course Julies favorite the bottomless coffee.

We headed down to the water side to catch the water taxi over to Universal, once inside we worked our way round the park doing most of the rides and attractions.

First Despicable Me Minion Mayhem

A small Stroller park

Then Shrek 4-D
Julie tries her hand for size

Deciding we were to much of a coward we skip Rip Ride Rocket on onto

Twister - Ride it out

and we were so wrong about the next one

Revenge of the Mummy

Onwards after a coffee to do the photo op at Jaws

Disaster!

Julie found her biggest fan in the queue line

A quick trip round Diagon Alley again

Onwards to Men In Black Alien Attack

Off to Springfield

The Simpsons Ride

And of course a photo

E.T. Adventure

Couldnt fail to spot these two icons of the movies

The weather was turning so we ducked into a ice cream parlour and waited for the next TERMINATOR 2: 3-D Show.

This is an old attraction but still a goodie in my opinion. a great mix of live action and video. Proves that back in its day it was such a big thing.

The time was ticking on so we headed to the gate, picked up our free pictures from our photo pass and off back to collect our luggage and car and back to Disney.

This all revolves round our dining appointment for Be Our Guest at 7.30.

We didnt do Festival of the Lion King last time we were in Animal Kingdom so off we went.

After we entered we had a couple of pictures of course

We both have never seen the West End version of the show so go with an open mind. Managed to get into the 10am show by the skin of our teeth. On the way there thinking we were never going to make it so didnt hurry.

But we did with minutes to spare.

Great show and lovely to find that they aint trying to cram a 2 hour show into 30mins like they do with others on the parks.

We leave Animal Kingdom to head to Epcot to use our fastpasses

First The Seas with Nemo and Friends

Then onto Journey Into Imagination. Followed by Living with the Land. As we had loads of time before our next fast pass we decided to goto Club Cool to try the Beverly

Then onwards to the Character Spot. We didnt know what to expect as its our first time doing this. To our surprise you got 3 - Mickey, Minnie and Goofy

Great interaction even with now kids in tow.

Then back to Soarin

Thats Epcot done for now so head out of the park and see someone out of the corner of our eye

Took the monorail to the Transport and Ticket Centre and then the ferry to Magic Kingdom

Heading up Mainstreet we stopped to see Walt statue

And the Castle show had just started so we watched

We were to early to book into Be Our Guest so had a wander around and the queue was really short for Under the Seas. We confirmed with the cast member that we would be off in time for our BOG reservation and on we got. We were out in moments. There was hardly any queue to this at all.

So took a little look round Gaston's Taven

At that the sun was starting to set and I took this of Bells Castle on the way back to BOG

We checked into Be Our Guest and said we would prefer the West Wing. They said they would try there hardest but my be an additional wait time. Gave us a pager and the wait began

Not long after being given the pager it went off and we were shown in through the big doors. Shown around the various rooms and told how everything worked and through to The West Wing.

Our server was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. picked out a stunning wine for my partner. Took our orders and kept checking up on us without being to over bearing.

The food was fantastic. I was expecting with all the hype that it would be good, but not fantastic, and it was. There was also a no hurried atmosphere and was able to sit and enjoy our food and drinks without them clock watching as that table is needed for another couple. Probably the best meal we have had in the two weeks.

The decor in the West Wing is stunning, alot darker than the other rooms, and apart from the thunder probably the best place to come if you are a couple.

The other rooms are bright and noisy

We had a VERY slow walk back to the entrance of the park. Crossed back over to Epcot for one reason - Test Track. It was Evening Magic Hours for Epcot and we were going against the flow of most people coming out after the fireworks. We saw the wait time of an hour but it just had to be done.

It didnt take that long and we were on again

After this we were done. So off back to our resort

As the days go on in our holiday we seem to be getting up later as we are getting more tired.

With fast passes booked we hurriedly went to Hollywood Studios and it seems like everyone else had the same idea. After a long line at bag check we got into Pixar Place to find a huge amount of unhappy people. They are all being turned away from Toystory Midway Mania. They had implemented a fast pass only queue. They only announced it that morning so we were ok and side tracked the angry mob and onto the queue.

Next over to Star Tours where we had a small wait before that fast pass opened and on we went

Next was a short trip to the smoking area and coffee and a muffin to keep us going and joined the queue for fast passes for Indianna Jones Stunt Show

Just had to take this picture in the Queue Line

Amazing show. Some people love it some people hate it, but for someone who works in the entertainment industry to be able to change your sets that smoothly and to be able to use them kind of effects 6 or 8 times a day, it was a wonderful thing to see

The only ride we hadnt really done and wanted to do is the Great Movie Ride. Again the line time was so out as I think at most it was 10 mins for us, although we were bought forward sooner to fill the car up

Getting on to lunch time so our plan was to eat at Epcot Food and Wine Event. So we crossed over to Epcot and made a whole in the budget for a small amount of food and drink

We had the following

Terra - Fresh Watermelon Juice
Patagonia - Grilled beef skewer with chimichurri sauce and boniato purée
New Zealand - Steamed green lip mussels with garlic butter and toasted bread crumbs
Odyssey Coffee Cart - Tropical Delight Mango Smoothie with Coconut Syrup and Grey Goose Vodka
Australia - Grilled Lamb Chop with Mint Pesto and Potato Crunchies
Mexico - Rib eye taco: Marinated rib eye, roasted chipotle salsa and grilled scallions on a corn tortilla
China - Kung Fu Punch with Vodka and Triple Sec
Singapore - Singapore Sling featuring Hendrick’s Gin and Cherry Herring
Germany - Roast bratwurst in a pretzel roll
Italy - Cannoli al cioccolato: Chocolate-covered cannoli filled with sweet ricotta, chocolate and candied fruit

Mexico Pavilion

China Pavilion

Where we found a nice coat for my dog, but i just stopped Julie in time

Italy

Cannoli al cioccolato

Fireworks barge being pushed into position

I had had enough of the heat, it was now about 34 degrees and I was melting, couldnt take it. So we got the ferry across the water to save our feet.

Returned to the resort to get some cool and for me to do more washing.

So today was the last manic day we were expecting to have. We had a list of must do's, most had a very tight time to them.

So up early and drove to Magic Kingdom for one reason and one reason only as we had a fast pass for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. This is the first day in the whole holiday Ive been able to get it, even though I was able to do my fast passes before we arrived.

Parked and noted where we were, took the land train to the monorail station and boarded after a considerable wait. Id forgotten that it was Mickey's Not So Scary that afternoon / evening and seemed like everyone was coming to this theme park.

Once through bag check it did seem to thin out, we pace walked up main street as time was ticking and we were running out of time for our fast pass. Through the castle into New Fantasyland and upto the ride.

We were in, on and off within moments, when people say its a short ride they aint wrong! I know its all very new, cute and lovely swinging cars and great theming but to be honest its nothing special. I wish they had used the same technology and built a true dark ride to tell the story and use the amazing animatronics. Visually stunning but as a ride its rubbish. Wouldnt of wanted to queue any longer than 30 mins max.

We left feeling slightly deflated but walking out through the castle we saw an old fashioned double decker bus just dropping off people. We asked if we could grab a lift back to the entrance and he said sure. We were the only people going that way.

We very slowly drove down main street to the entrance waving to all as we passed as they parted to let us through, even nearly clipped a few photopass cast members who were very slow getting out of the way.

We exited the park took the ferry over to the Transport and Ticket Centre, talking to one of the captains as he was about to start his shift, who told us his life story which was nice and his political view which was very interesting.

Collected our car which was already boiling hot, we turn the A/C up to max shut the doors and leave it 5 mins to cool down.

Once inside we head to tackle another beast - Parking a Car in Downtown Disney!

We had read that people have had major issues for months about the parking here because of all the work going on and the building of the new parking lot, and to look at it is was. Julie took a large inwards breath and turned into the parking area, everyone was turning right so we decided to turn left and within a couple of mins parked.

We had booked lunch at House of Blues. Now im a big Blues Brothers fan and have been to a couple to buy t shirts from but never got chance to eat at one.

We were slightly early so had a look in the shop bought what we needed and off to eat.

We were sat and introduced to the menu, there were so many things I wanted. But didnt want anything to heavy as still got other plans for the afternoon / evening. We tried to look at other peoples plates of food coming out and noticed that of course the portions are large.

The food was lovely but was far to much, we could have shared 1 main meal between us and of course failed to finish.

A very very slow walk back round the lake to try and make room for what we wanted to do next. We did a detour to Goofy's Candy Shop.

Something on my to do list was to do a hand dipped mickey crispy treat, this is where you fill in a form to how you want it creating for you. I had milk chocolate covered in mini m&m.

It did take me quite a few sitting to finish it

We were then felt like we had enough room for pudding at Ghirardellis

I had the Ocean Beach - Sea Salt Caramel Sundae and Julie had Quake Shake - A strawberry and chocolate bar infused milkshake

Lush

Then back to the resort to rest off the food and ice cream.

After a lay down we decide we will get some fresh air and take the car out to get the last couple of things I needed for gifts for people - to be honest m&ms and was so tempted by these

I just wish i would have had room. But these were massive! They wouldnt have even fitted into Julies Hand luggage.

While we were out we thought we better eat as it was getting towards that time and we didnt want to make a choice back at the resort. Julie asked me if we could find a Chinese so I had a google.

We found Ming Court on International Drive. Im only telling you this info as a warning. We found the food to be of poor quaility and only warm at best and mass produced for the tourist market. Service was poor. So ate, paid, and left.

Back to the resort, again wanting pudding I ordered one of these

We shared this of course and still stuggled to finish.

Then a trip to the shop to buy a Mickey Head Waffle Magnet as I forgot to get it and tried on a few ears

Couple of refill drinks and it was back to our room to catch up on trip notes, and social media.
