(Updated 3/30) A'Questing We Will Go! - Jan 2026 TR

It was a 1 bedroom garden/pool view. The balcony was very large and it overlooked the quiet pool. We had a nice view of the boats coming and going to the studios. If we stay offsite, we aways stay at the Drury on hotel plaza blvd. They are part of the preferred hotels so you still get early entry. They do have a shuttle but we rent a car. It has a large breakfast buffet. In the afternoon starting at 4 is fresh popcorn. Then in the evening they have a buffet dinner. They do not have desserts like CL resorts. They also offer 3 free alcohol drinks/wine for people. Unlimited softdrinks, tea and coffee. I usually book a fireworks view or you can watch them from the pool area.
oooh nice! that sounds lovely - especially the view of the boats coming and going. I love watching the boats.

Oooh Drury sounds nice! We may have to look into that....is it the MK fireworks you can see?

Nice start to your trip! We head to Disney soon and am intrested to see how crowded it will be.

How was the cakes? The cakes at Disney Springs are now my favorite. Over the cookies.

Homecomin is our restaurant we always need to go to at Disney Springs. It's vacation go where you like!

Great start! Yummy food and drinks.
I’d be disappointed with that as a water view as well .. what does your ring look like?

Have you guys tried the brown butter rice krispy treats from Summerhouse? I had one for the first time this past Jan and I'm still dreaming about it! So amazing!

Hopefully Disney isn't too crowded for you, though I literally today just saw how they're checking for Disney reservations if you try to get on the bus at Disney Springs so....seems like it's crazy right now!

The cake was fantastic! The cakes don't store as well as the cookies (the Gideon's cookies freeze so well!) so I recommend eating them as soon as you can, but they're delicious. I don't know that I'd say I like them more than the cookies, but I do love that they don't skimp on the frosting. I think I like them equally - just depends on what I'm in the mood for. :) What cake is your favorite?

Homecomin always sounds good too, we just need to vacation longer at Disney so we can try more restaurants! :P

FARTS Begins! - Sunday, January 18, 2026 (part 1)

We slept pretty well, but got up early - 7 am! Had to pack up, take our bags down to Bell Services, confirm that we could switch rooms, and then I was going to return the rental car to Swan & Dolphin while Trevor headed to Epcot to rope drop the Lorcana quest. I'd gotten nervous after hearing the reports of the Lorcana cards being fully distributed pretty quickly and wanted to make sure we got a quest booklet, and so Trevor was kind enough to go rope drop it for me. :)

The view from our room was lovely, even if not quite the water view we wanted:

See? Nice, but we like to eat breakfast on our balcony and it'd be a bit weird if other folks were out on the balcony. :)

The view looking the other way.

Trevor did set up his gopro for a pretty sunrise timelapse:

By 8 am I was on my way to the Swolphin, after having talked to the front desk and confirmed that we'd be changing rooms. I always like to double check, just in case. :) They didn't have a room number for us yet but said we should be getting the room ready text later in the day.

While I was dropping off the car (which was super easy by the way, highly recommend), Trevor was being let in to Epcot!

FARTS! :D

I dropped off the car by 8:10, and headed to catch the Friendship Boat to Epcot, but I just missed it - I literally saw it pull away as I got up there. Oh well! Trevor meanwhile was 6 people/2 groups from the front of the quest line, so I was wondering if I'd make it before 9 - the Epcot boat pulled up and we left at 8:25 am.

Such a pretty morning!

By 8:45 I was tapping in to Epcot and heading to join Trevor! On the way I passed one of the big Lorcana cards for the scavenger hunt:

It was kind of fun walking through Epcot and seeing the details without the crowds. Like these maple leaves on the fence near Canada:

Literally never noticed those before!

And of course I had to take some pictures of the chalk art as I passed it:

The 3D art wasn't quite finished but still neat to see.

Degas! :)

(and that's the picture limit...dang it!)
