Hi everyone,

Just wondering how the heck you receive the emails or postcards. I have NEVER received either.

I've been registered on Disney's website forever, and I've also registered my name to received "email updates".

Am I doing something wrong? Have I missed something? It's frustrating because I've been a member of this website for a few years and have read tons of posts where people receive these great emails & postcards. I'm glad for all of them, but I sure could use a break from the mouse.

I have never received one either. You aren't doing anything wrong. I hear it is RANDOM and no RHYME or REASON. I have signed up for the website and emails as well. I have gotten 3 things on the Kids Stay and Play Free deal in the last week. They are really pushing that. Two mailed from Disney and an additional email. Where are the "other" discounts?

COME ON!!!! :bounce:

i got email discount codes win pin #$ last year after I registered on the Disney website. If you do this I believe their is a box that asks if you would like to be emailed discounts or something along those lines..Don't hate me but I got two of em before our trip. the best deal was a moderate for $79 per night, we chose POFQ. They then announced the closing and I got upgraded to YC for $109 a night. That really blew me away when you consider I spent $99 a night for ASMu the previous trip. My family always makes fun of my WDW geekness, but when we pulled in at the YC and they saw this beautiful resort, the big beautiful room and all the tremendous amenities, ole Dad was the toast of the town...

I am not sure this is scientific answer but-
We are frequent visitors (at least 2-3 trips per year) and I travel to Orlando quite frequently. When we don't visit about every 4-5 months (for last 2 years anyway) we get some kind of postcard and now an e-mail with a "special" offering.
Marketing 101 would tell you to send out teasers to people who don't visit on a regular basis or to those who might be frequent guests that have not been recently.
Seems to be some patterns but a lot is random.

I know they are out there and not getting one is really peeving me off! I am registered on the Disney website to receive emails.

My ugly angry side is showing today!

Throw PIXIE DUST my way.........pullleeeeaase

I FEEL LIKE IM BEING "PUNISHED" FOR BOOKING EARLY. AND ALSO FOR BEING A FAITHFUL WDW VISITOR. REMEMBER IN THE MOVIE "VACATION" WHEN CHEVY CHASE GOES POSTAL AT "WALLY WORLD" ON MARTY MOOSE? I FEEL LIKE THAT AT THE MOMENT......... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have contacted my travel agent as well, to see what she can do for me. The only reason I went through her is because she gets a kickback from Disney, not me. I pay the same through Disney or her, figure if I tell her about my disgust, maybe she can DO something. It's worth a try, in addition to my nice (not nasty, although that's how I really feel) email to guest relations at WDW.

Pixie Me Dust, Tag Me Fairy.....or maybe you can't catch me! :wave2:

I just sent an email to Disney via their website, asking why some people receive frequent discount offers, while others seem to be excluded. Like I said previously, I think it's great that some people receive these offers, but Disney should spread the love.

Once they send me the "canned" answer, I'll post it.

Very frustrating.....................

Everyone should contact them in DISGUST! I believe, but heck I am beginning to believe they are ANTI Lewski709.

I've been to WDW at least 15 times in the past 10 years. Sometimes rooms have been in my name, sometimes in my mom's. We've never received a discount postcard or e-mail, we are registered separately. I think if you go more often, they exclude you thinking you'll go anyway.

I'm a DVC member but we took an "extra" trip at the beginning of October for the Halloween Party. I really got disgusted with the wait on the AP rates. I wanted to stay at Boardwalk Inn but after waiting so long, some nights were soldout. We ended up staying at CBR with a Disney Club rate (20% off). I booked our air in July for Oct 1 to 6 thinking AP rates would come out for sure and Oct 1 was the last day of value season. I got fooled, there were none, the next batch started Oct 2. I could have split the reservation but it wouldn't have saved me much so I didn't bother.

I think it is right about the ones who haven't visited for awhile or do not have ressies ,..we got one once, of course could not go at that time and of course have gotten nothing when we were going! once we did get a postcard while we were staying at FW about extending our stay for really cheap and of course could not use it that time either..don't know which is, worse to get and not be able to use or not get at all!

I never receive the offers either and I am also registered online.

I just got an email with a discount code and pin# It was for the moderates at $79.00. I asked about a Deluxe, they would give me the WL at 187.40. That was only .60 less than I had WL with a AAA discount. The only mod they had was POR. Considering last Dec we stayed in a woods view room at WL for 143.00 incl. tx. The 187.40 did nothing for me! We are going offsite this trip, swore I never would, but 119.00 for a two bedroom condo at Vistana looks mighty nice. So, don't get too upset....

Well, first I was SO excited when I got the email yesterday with the discount code. Like everyone else, I had been hearing about them but never received one. It turns out that we won't be able to use it, so does that mean that they will never send me another one? :(

Has anyone received another discount postcard or email after not being able to use the first one?

Shortly after booking my next trip I was surfing on the Disney website and a survey popped up, asked if I wanted to take it. I did and then at the end of the survey they asked if I would be available to do it again in the future, I think that the survey was linked to the postcard. After this I received a postcard in the mail with a discount code. I was a little upset, but called in to see if the deal I had received was a better deal then the one I had already booked. They ran the postcard deal through and the Winter Dream Maker package that I had booked was a better deal by about $50. The cast member working with me said that most of the time, that the postcard/email deals are not that much better than the other specials that Disney is usually promoting. So.... don't get too angry, go and enjoy your trip. ::MinnieMo

I'm not sure of the reasoning behind getting post cards, seems to be random. I've been to WDW a few times but have never stayed at a WDW resort and I've received two post cards offering discounts, but I've never been able to use either :(

Gretchen

What were the dates on your discount? I'm just curious, because when I switched my ressies from CBR to POR last week, they told me the only rooms they had left were waterview. Of course, I am going at a busier time:crowded:

My great aunt who has only been to WDW once (a cruise with me - and everything was booked in my name) gets postcards several times a year. The only thing she ever signed up for was the Castaway Club after our cruise. I, on the other hand, who am a frequent WDW visitor, have only received one postcard, EVER!
